Don't worry, you're not really doing anything wrong. It takes a bit of time to improve dream recall, especially if you're only starting out. Remember that it's a whole new lifestyle you're trying to adapt to. Just keep your intentions and consider every attempt a step closer to a lucid.

You can use mantras before bed such as "I wake up and stay still" or anything that reminds you to do so. The importnt thing is to actually believe what you're saying — like command yourself to do it. Don't worry though, if you're aiming for DEILD, you should know that it's more mental than physical. What I mean is if you accidentally move, don't think about it. Just focus on your dream and visualizing it. The more you focus on the physical aspect, the less likely you will be to enter the mental aspect (dream). I know many people (including myself) who move and roll over when they wake up, but as long as you dont think of it too much, and just carry on, then you can still do it.

Hope this helps
