      Your Reality Checks?

      Hi everyone.
I'm new here but that doesn't matter right now.
      i've got a question.
It happens to me a lot that i'm watching a scary movie, and i close my eyes, but i can watch through my eye-lids. (<-- that obviously is a dream)
But could i use this as a Reality Check?

And something else, What reality checks do you use?
      Just wondering ^_^

I'd say you could use that as a dream sign, not as a RC.

      As for RCs I use:

      Checking clock multiple times
Checking my hands if they are normal or not
      Lucid dreaming goals:

Fly( ) Tame a recurring wolf that has been in about 10 different dreams/nightmares ( ) Fly on a Night Fury from HTTYD ( ) Ask my subconscious why I have so many nightmares ( )
Fight agent Smith ( ) Ride a huge spider to a battle against a beenest ( ) Face all of my nightmare creatures and beat them ( ) Be a god ( )

As Cyper said that is more of a dream sign (sign that tells you that you are dreaming).
My reality checks consist of pushing my finger through my palm, plugging my nose, checking the clock, and observing my environment.
      Welcome to the forums also.

That is a great dream sign. Keep it more general. Every time you watch a scary movie, or think about scary movies, reality check. For a reality check, I like to count my fingers and think back on my recent memory.

      My Reality Checks:
      1. I ask myself "How did I get to where I am, now?"
      2. I look for dream signs.
      3. Always ask myself, "Am I dreaming?" And what signs prove it, like RC along with a question.
Reality checks don't really work for me, but it does not hurt to try.

It works like a reality check actually, if you can see after closing eyes, dreaming, if not, waking, but it is also a dream sign, as has been said.

      Anyway, I use gravity RC.

Ow thank you all for your comments ^_^
That really helped, so dream signs are used for knowing that you're dreaming. And reality checks is like looking for things that aren't real (or couldn't happen in real life)?
I almost had a lucid dream today, (one day training o.o)
i'll put that dream in my DJ.

      bye <3

      Sleepy,
This is not only a reality check but a clear sign you are infact in a dream. This is known as the Transparent Eyelids Effect and happens to many people when attempting to Wild. I get this nearly every time I actively attempt to wild. I am laying there with my eyes closed, when suddenly I realize I am looking at the ceiling, or around the room... I jump up and run around doing my usual lucid stuff.. In your case, you will want to do an additional reality check to confirm after you get up.. but this is not only a reality check, it is lucidity.. I am always lucid after I experience the transparent eyelids. Hope this helps

Hey Atkins do you know why i suddenly can't remember my dreams anymore.
Ever since i started to try Lucid dreaming, my "recall" has gotten worse.
      I can't remember my dreams anymore D:

This sometimes happens when you first start trying to Lucid Dream and it is usually do to changing your sleep around, such as how many hours you sleep, or whether you are waking up and going back to bed.. Changing your sleep schedule will sometimes result in less memory but continue trying to get full nights of sleep while still using the methods.. always write down every dream you can remember as soon as you wake up.. Don't worry, your recall will get better, especially if you are sure to write in your journal and get plenty of sleep.

I use a memory RC. I ask how I got to where I am, if I can't remember, then I'm dreaming.

I pinch my nose and try to breathe (this helped me into my last lucid), counting my fingers, sometimes in dreams you have more or less fingers, leaning against a wall and look if I fall through, trying to push my thumb through my hand, and pinch myself.
