Wake up a little earlier to dedicate some time to writing down dreams.
Sounds like you go good at getting into SP, is this before prior sleep like at 10 PM or such or WBTB where you sleep and then wake up at 4 or 5 AM and go back to sleep to attempt the WILD?
It's almost impossible to WILD from before you sleep due to REM phases and the like so that's useless, I'm fairly sure you can still get into SP at that point though, just not the dream.

So if you are doing the WILD at the right time, you get into SP and start hearing or seeing things, you just passively view them and think about them a little to stay aware and try not to be excited. It goes from patterns of light to a full dream scene over a period of time you can then be in it and tadaa a dream. (Usually) Hope some of that helped. I've only got into SP before and I go too excited when I started seeing lights I'm attempting a WILD pretty much every night but I keep falling asleep, I'll need to do something to wake up a bit.
