The problem is that I don't know what sort of person I am when it comes to this sort of thing. All I know is that I have never purposefully became lucid while dreaming.
I'm not sure about bi-phasic sleep, but I know that after a week of poly-phasic sleep- like the Uberman schedule- you go straight into REM.
I can't do poly-phasic though as I have school.
People who have done Bi-Phasic sleep for over a week report feeling very refreshed after the nap, indicating that you have a decent amount of REM sleep in that period...
If I'm right about Bi-Phasic, I could have more success with methods which require WBTB and if I woke up, DEILDing/FILDing would be easier, I think....
I think I'll try Milding and Filding and also work on All Day Awareness so I can have lots of DILDs.
