Hi I've been lucid dreaming rarely for a few years now, and had one of my longest runs of lucidity last night that left me with a lot of questions. I hoped Google could answer them, but I found this website instead!
Anyways, before I foray into the other forums to search for similar experiences I thought I'd share my first lucid dream with you all.
It was a dark (and actually very beautiful) night. I was at the house I was born in (I haven't lived there since 1989). I was in the middle of a house party with some of my closest friends...the Secretary of Commerce, his frat buddies, Barack and Michelle Obama...you know, just an ordinary party. The Sec. of Commerce was in the living room doing shotguns with his posse and crushing the cans on their foreheads. I was getting bored so I went to go sit over by the Obamas.
I got a bowl packed and was about to smoke it when Mr. Obama gave me a very stern look and said "not in here". I was like "WTF this is MY house!!", but I figured he's the president so I should give him the benefit of the doubt. So I headed outside to the porch to smoke.
When I got outside I looked up at the gorgeously star-studded night sky and wondered how it could be nighttime when my uncle never called me in to work for him (IRL I was supposed to be up at 5AM to help him move furniture). WHAM! I realized that I was dreaming. I looked down at the porch and was instantly amazed at how real it looked. In some ways it seemed even MORE vivid than reality.
It didn't last very long, however. I tried to fly, but only could manage a few superhuman jumps. Then I devolved back into a normal dream state.
To this day I'm still amazed that it was the mundane realization that I was supposed to be working, not the fact that I had the executive branch over for a house party, that tipped me into lucidity. The unconscious mind is a funny thing...
