I got Introversion, Sensing, Thinking, Judging. I sure hope judging last is something that will screw me over in the future.

I hate these tests, and I always have. So why have I taken this same one like three times in my life?
The real answers to so many of those questions are too complicated to be expressed on a 1-5 scale.
For example, "I am disorganized." Personally, I'm very obsessive, often organizing until things are perfect, usually when I'm stressed. But other times I'll let my room fall into chaos, with clothes on the floor and books everywhere. So what did I write? I just chose the middle circle, in between, but of course that test won't be able to distinguish me from someone who's just mediocrely organized all the time.
Another, "I tend to pay more attention to my thoughts than my feelings." I pay a lot of attention to both. There were a few questions asking where you fall on the reason-emotion balance. But for me, it isn't like that. I'm an extremely emotional person. I know that. I'm also a very rational person, who values critical thinking and tries to implement it as often as possible. The two things have little to do with one another. It would be okay if it were only these two questions, but I swear it was about half of them that I was stuck on for over a minute with some huge dillema. Does no one else have this problem? No, I doubt most people will have read to the end of this long post. I'm sorry for the long post, I'm tired and don't have time to write a shorter one.

And I totally agree, Dianeva. To get a true answer for such things one would need to write a brief explanation for each question and have them interpreted by some professional or something. A 1-5 scale doesn't allow me to be specific enough.

ISTP - "Artisan". Impulsive action. Life should be of impulse rather than of purpose. Action is an end to itself. Fearless, craves excitement, master of tools. 5.4% of total population.

Hm... I don't know if I agree with the description, but the percentages make sense.

I would have more faith in such things if the questions made sense. Take for example the first question,
I base my goals in life on inspiration, rather than logic.

It is an oxymoron. What is the point of a test when the questions are asked by someone who is completly unaware of what they are asking?

The age old, I am just another SOB is just fine with me.

Yeah. As I said before, I hate these questions. No one bases their goals on logic, at a core level. We base them on desire and then use logic to figure out how to best achieve them. Even if you disagree with what I just said specifically, it's at least true that logic and inspiration aren't opposites.

When I bring things like this up in response to these types of tests, the response I usually get is that I'm thinking about it too hard, getting too philosophical about it, that I should just put the response that seems the most accurate. But I can't do that, when the true answer is usually a combination of the two and neither. If I were to force myself to choose one, I'd be in a sense lying.

Logic is the method by which the mind functions. There are two primary divisions based upon the only two elements an environmental acquisition system works with. Form and material difference. It is a crafting process--and for the crafting of anything at all, both elements are required. Emotion is not opposed to reason--they must both be present.

Anyway, all we are as mind, all we can ever be, rests with our correct functioning---which can be traced back to grammatical processes that are fundamental aspects of our own mind, how well we use them, how well we understand them. We craft our response to the environment, and like craftsmen we each have differing levels of ability. In a similie, from scribbling with crayons to ,..... well, it is obvious.

To lable a person as a particular personality type I think is a bit useless. It becomes another way of saying, I am that, instead of I am this.

To correctly understand a person, one must understand grammatical principles--the very functions the mind is responsible for using. Traditional grammar teaching only understands part of half of those principles. That is why I work on it--because I can. Plato was one of the best in history--too far beyond those who came after him--but he was human and made some mistakes, we all do.

Er I was INTP a while ago. Don't know if anything has changed. On personalitycafe there are subforums for each type and threads "you know you are ???? when..." - much fun to read those X)

INTP - Fits me exactly, I was kinda surprised. The problem is it says I should be a biologist or some other things. Which would be good but uni courses take too long lol

DOn't think so hard for these tests. Go with your first instinct. If you fit in between, go with your first thought. Usually, one or the other will automatically pop into your head.

My problem with these tests is that the person I am inside is often in conflict with my actions.
I PREFER structure/concrete over randomness/abstract but I'm undisciplined so I usually go with the flow.
I PREFER logic over emotion because my emotions rule and tend to get in the way.
So I end up answering according to my behavior.

Amen to that Zhaylin. I also find that at different points in my life, I change types. The E never really changes, nor does the F. But the N and the P are a little variable for me depending on my decade I guess. I've done the test a few times now, and mostly I get ENFP. But not always.

      Introverted (I) 67.86% Extroverted (E) 32.14%
      Intuitive (N) 53.33% Sensing (S) 46.67%
      Thinking (T) 51.72% Feeling (F) 48.28%
      Perceiving (P) 54.55% Judging (J) 45.45%

      Your type is: INTP

INTP - "Architect". Greatest precision in thought and language. Can readily discern contradictions and inconsistencies. The world exists primarily to be understood. 3.3% of total population.

Most of the more detailled description of this type fits, but some things I disagree about... I think that is usual with all such tests.

      Two INTPs in a row.

I think that the most important part of these tests is that they give us a reason to feel superior to other people. See my fist post for why we INTPs are superior to other people.

If you're not an INTP, you'll have to find your own reason to be superior to other people. "We come up with all the good ideas" is already taken

Yes. Attempting to perceive the universe as it actually exists and not as our senses would lead us to believe it exists or our feelings would lead us to desire it to exist is very important to coming up with all the good ideas.
