Tommo, it seems that melanieb has the solution to your woes. But if you really want me too, I'd probably have a great time quitting your job seeing as I quit all mine some time ago.

I really hate the people in this neighborhood who like to race around at night and blaze through the stop sign.

Still, being unemployed means I am awake now instead of drifting off after a hard week at work.

I'm sad because Puffin says she's leaving. I don't know why, and I'm sure she probably has her reasons, but, well, I'll miss her. Even if I'm mostly a lurker anyway.

She has her reasons and they mean a lot to her.

I hope she comes back also.

Bah, I work till 11 every night. Then I drive an hour to get home. Then wake up at 7:45 to make breakfast and leave in time for my 9am class. :p

My complaint? Rain. Although it does sound cool (my apt is on the top floor, so I hear the rain on the roof--love going to sleep to a soft patter), I wish it rained during the week rather than the weekend... supposed to rain all morning tomorrow I believe. There goes my Saturday bike ride! It's supposed to be nice on Sunday though, but the trails will be all muddy so I'll have to stick to paved.

Also, my knee hurts! I don't know what's going on with it. It's the same leg that's been giving me trouble. Before, my hamstring was real tight. I began stretching it frequently and took the stairs all the time (I'm on the 4th floor) which actually helped a lot. But now that same leg, my knee's been killing me. I can't bend it nearly as far as my other leg anymore, and it hurts putting weight on it. I've had to skip working on my legs the last three times because of this. The knee is actually kinda swollen too. Doesn't bother me at all while biking though...

I don't like "quick fixes" like medicine. I'd rather figure out what the problem is, correct it, and prevent it from happening. Taking medicine is (in most cases) like putting a blanket over a pile of trash--just a coverup, doesn't actually solve anything.

Just my silly opinion, anyway. But thanks for the suggestion. The nutritionist/physician I go to is also a message therapist... I'll talk to her, see what she says.

      I don't agree that medicine is always a "quick-fix"

Having had my share of hospital experiences, I know first-hand that sometimes medicine is simply necessary.

But even in daily life, it is useful. I'm not as limber as I was when I was 19, though I feel little difference just sitting here. Still, I find that sometimes things ache that didn't used to. Posture has something to do with that, and exercise helps, but sometimes more help is needed.

When I know I am going to be doing something strenuous I will take a Tylenol beforehand. The acetaminopnen helps me get through activities that would make me sore otherwise, and afterwards I don't feel bad at all. I would prefer to take Advil but I'm not allowed Ibuprofen any longer. Advil works better than Tylenol taken beforehand for such activities.

Try it out sometime. Consider it an experiment.

Yea, I agree being a "quick fix" is not always the case. But I still consider most medicine as a last resort.

Granted, I'm in my 20s. But my nutritionist is in her 50s (looks more like 30s) and firmly believes that stretching properly and routinely (as well as one's diet, actually) prevents pains which people typically turn to medicine to relieve/prevent. At this point in my life, I take here advice (although I don't stretch like I should)... but who knows. I sure don't.

hehee... when I was younger, I hated taking medicine. My parents used to make fun of me because I would, for instance, refuse a tylenol for a headache. I, too, wanted to know what caused it.
Now my motto is "Better living through chemistry"
      1 take 2 Green Tea with Hoodia twice a day, 1 5,000 IU's twice a day of D3, 1 600 mg Calcium, and 1 B50 Complex
I also take 2 anti-anxiety meds, Ranitadine (acid reflux) and Tylenol/Iburofen as needed whenever.

My rant is that I'm not sleeping. I have a full day ahead of me but now it's so late that if I go to sleep I'll never wake up in time. So, I'll also be popping caffeine today

But it's been an outstanding evening. A thunderstorm system moved through. I was at Walmart at around midnight. WHen I went into the store, it wasn't even drizzling, but as I shopped it rained so fiercely the sound echoed throughout the store. When I got home, at REALLY picked up. Lightning lit up the sky and the thunder was so fierce our male dog kept tucking his tail and trying to climb onto my sons chest. Even the birds chirped in concern a couple of times.
      The storm has passed though

No, but neither are the muslim women. Headkerchiefs are still allowed, and I don't think they are actually going to forbid those. Only burqas have been forbidden, because it unables you to identify people etc. etc. Then again, the PVV (a racistic political party with a LOT of followers) is still growing, so it might just change in the coming few years.

That does suck! At first I was like "1.68€? That's not that bad at all..."

Then I realized you said liters. If all my conversions are correct (which they probably aren't), that means 1.68€ a liter is almost $8.50 a gallon! Ugh, I hope it doesn't get that high here. I pay about $300 a month on gas, as is.

I stand all day at work. I get two 20-minute breaks to eat/sit... I'm always walking around though, so it's not too bad. But I do wonder if that's what's causing my knee to hurt? Probably not, but it sure doesn't help either.

Boo. Rain. Boo. I wanna ride! Wait, I already complained about this... ah well, lazy Saturday it is.

I hope I don't mess up this drawing I'm going to do for Ophelia.

Oh man, it's been months since I tried to draw someone that stunning.

This is a risky task indeed.

I thought I'd be getting my new phone some time this week but I called back and the women on the line said that no such order had been placed. The representative who I had talked to earlier was apparently bullshitting about this kickass deal she was offering me (a Galaxy Nexus for $30 and a plan that would only cost $25 a month), guess she was just really bored that day. >_<

Sorry, Gavin, I know you need some good news about now.

I don't have that much to rant about.

Sure, I could rant about gas prices, having to wash dishes by hand, turning on the air conditioner in March, my aching back, and this stupid mouth sore I have from eating some chocolate recently, but it all seems like pittle stuff for me to rant about.

I could rant about the Jehovah's Witnesses that come by every three weeks, early in the morning, to bring material to my door, and I always politley take it, though I want to tell them that I respect their mission but they would probably spend their time better at someone else's door. Still, even this seems silly to rant about.

      Ooh, I know.

      My floor is dirty.
