I honestly thought I was going to get my GPR/GPA ****ed up until I reread the syllabus that it's just 15%, and I'm seeing a trend where as long as I make 110s and 105's during Math Recitation, my points might add up to an extra Exam grade (since Recitation and the 3 Exams excluding the Final are 15% each). Now all I have to do is actually take time to do the homework over again instead of finishing it in one go.

Mind switching grades for me? I could really use the high grade you'll be getting. (kidding )
You should always read the syllabus ahead of time so you know what you're getting into. You never know when there's going to be a big test or paper or lots of homework due that you let yourself get all stressed out over because they sound significant just to realize that it's only worth like 5% of your grade and you could just as easily not even do it and still get by just fine. (A terrible way to think about school stuff, but it's worked for me before lol.)

And they're my grades, get your own! >w< I'm the one who took the effort to go to class and twiddle my thumbs for an hour while the teacher talked for two days a week. D:

I do read the syllabus, but when the profs say that even though there's a low percentage for things like homework and all that, they still scare us with those percentage being a way to make or break your grade, which is why other than exams of course, I would still want to be serious about them too.

Because if I focus on just one aspect and screw up the rest, like the gimme points, it would just make me feel horrible. I might as well give it my all since this is just a one time deal anyway.

@LZ the good thing about maffs is there aren't a lot of trick questions like in other subjects. Nail the formulas, nail the tests.

Life is... strange. Intriguing, brilliant, thrilling, but strange.

Like before, not a complaint. Just a rant.

Can you be a little more vague? Either way....I'll hug it out, because you're alright kid.

      Remember the "independent/ party girl?".......ugh.....

I just don't know. I'm trying to figure out if I met or if I didn't. This girl is a teacher (so she can't be that wild and crazy right?) and she was hitting on me tonight at a bar....not hard, but it was obvious that she likes me. This girl is physically my type...she's not freaking perfect, but she's cute in every single way that makes her beautiful.

We chit chatted here and there, and before I left, she gave me a loooong hug, and asked me if I was going to start coming there on a regular basis (she's in a dart league that just started up so she doesn't have much of a choice.) I told her "now I have a reason to" (i know....effing smooth).

The thing is what I'm complaining about is, that I left sorta early, and I didn't really lay the "hey I like you" thing down like I normally would.
I thought about it for a while, and turned around, and when I came back she was gone. It's day one, and I don't know what the hell this girl girl is....other than beautiful, and positive. And now I'm thinking what if this is just the regular crap I come across....UGH....so many complications. I mean...she's seems different, but they always do. DAMNIT.

Well, this isn't negative; but I've had one of the most amazing weeks of my life.
On Saturday, it was my 6 month anniversary with my girlfriend, so we made a little fort out of blankets and pillows and (call me gay) cuddled in it for hours. Then we baked a cake, and decorated it into a big six, with icing and stuff. Tuesday she came over, we watched movies, and cuddled. Wednesday (today) we went to Warner Brothers Movie world! Yay! It was so good ;C
The lines were long and stuff, but I had such a good time. Some of the rides were insane! Anyway, I couldn't really be any happier with this girl, half a year has just flown by. I hope it lasts a long time!

Oh yuppie11975 how adorable. Just great stuff!

My rant for today - and the last few days. I caught the flu from my dear hubby so I've been sick like hell - and because my nights are so erratic with waking up from coughing and all that, I couldn't even remember my dreams.

I was reading William Buhlman's Adventures beyond the body and at some point he said that years ago he was sick for like 2 weeks with pneumonia so he was all the time in bed and he had the most amazing out of body experiences. Dohhh, I can't even remember my dreams when I'm sick with the flu :-(

The only thing i use once in a while is Alvityl plus, but i had it long before this, so i really don't think it's supplements. But we will see what the doctor says, it's probably nothing though.. Thanks for the support tommo!

heh, you call them brain zaps too Tommo I had mine (most consistently) from N2O. For me, it felt like an electric jolt in my brain. I'd even react to it physically with a little jump like a person makes sometimes when they're falling asleep.
I've had them randomly at other times, but that's what I always think about when I think of those zaps. Back then, when they were the worst it was likely from oxygen deprivation.

      Auron. Hope it goes wonderfully!

      Ophelia.

You do not sound gay, Yuppie. You sound like a true romantic

My rant is that I woke up feeling like crap as usual. My ears are gurgly and draining clear fluid. When I say draining, it's not actually coming out of my ears. I always feel a tickle in my ear and when I scratch it I can feel the fluid (that sounds so much better than saying I stick my pinky in my ear )
And my nose is a little clogged.
      Stupid chronic allergies.

I'm also still ranting about an explosion last night... of Creme Soda. I had already opened the stupid bottle (24 oz) and taken a few sips. I always replace the cap though to keep it fresh. Then I opened it again and UGH... Creme Soda everywhere. It has to be the most unstable beverage in the world lol. This is NOT the first time this has happened!
I eventually put it back in the fridge so I could go to sleep and now it's flat Completely flat.

So now I must head out into the world for something to drink (do not even suggest water though I know it's best).

Oh God I'm back here on the rant thread to chat with everyone again. o.O

I'm so confused with my real personality. I took Jung's personality test multiple times and I was so convinced I'm a ISFJ. Only till yesterday I retook the test and I gotten myself an ISFP result, I read the description and felt like this personality was hidden within me all the time.

I'm still half-believing that I'm an ISFP instead of an ISFJ since that would mean my actual self is happier, more optimistic and more carefree than my presumed self whom is emotional, duty bounded and likes things to be in order and organised. If I'm making any sense here. I've got this hunch that my mother's personality might be close to an ISFJ, which would be a very valid reason why I am viewing myself as an ISFJ, because I'm placing my mother's personality on myself.

Just remember that personality tests are just based on observations with different test subjects and the results you get can vary a lot depending on your mood at the time and what you've been doing that day or just any time recently, depending on how they're structured. If you believe that your personality is a certain way then it probably is, regardless of what a test does or doesn't say. In other words, you should use the test as a guide, but don't let it get too up in your head. If you want to be happier, more optimistic, and more carefree, you should make it happen.

Whenever teachers set online homework deadlines for 11:59 PM, one minute before Midnight, I am perfectly fine with that! But when you set the due date on 6:00 AM Instead of 11:59PM, you're just being a troll. Like really? 6:00 AM? Are you kidding me? Are you trying to give people a heart attack?

Because I'm pretty sure, there's people that stay up until 6:00 AM to finish that damn homework, that's what the cool kids do! Sleep deprivation and insomnia is where it's at, but these assignments are just practice.....and way harder than the actual exam! (And even mastering the hard parts doesn't guarantee you do well on the exam either)

Who gives a shit about torsional strain on some molecule?

"Omg, that's 109.5 degree angle dipole moment! Hnnnnnnnnghhhh!!!!"

"No that doesn't exist, there's obviously gauche conformation right there! Hnnnnnnnnnggggh!!!"

No! No! No one does that!!!! At least a sane person who isn't materialistic with model kits of atoms and bonds.

And what's worse, the last part of it is only 10% overall, while the practice is 6%.....really? 6:00 AM? Come on....at least put it for 11:59PM, so that we'll be able to SLEEP at a decent time and not pull an all-niter?

They're gonna have to restructure entire school systems and programs pretty soon. When they teach stuff that isn't really necessary, it's just taking up more time that you could be spending learning something important. And in science that's just going to get worse and worse coz more stuff is being discovered everyday.
I still hold out hope that we will switch to a "learn how to actually learn" type system (in primary school up this should be paramount) and then all the knowledge should be gained mostly on your own after you've learned the fundamentals (during university). But you just get told what you need to know, and if you know how to learn, you'll probably pick up other, tangential, stuff along the way.

I wonder what it's like to live a normal life.

      .

      ^^^^^^^^^^^^This!!!!

You are dead-on! The whole thing is a mess....they have to teach us how to be interested in finding new knowledge....if they just emphasize on outdated stuff alone, with absolutely no room to develop critical thinking and creativity, huge scientific discoveries are going to take waaaaaaaay too long to blossom.

Unfortunately, someone has to be so amazing and have so much natural creativity to actually do something for once....and there's not a lot of these people, because the majority are just focused on getting a job instead of risking some chances to make big discoveries and be put down in the line of history of trying to advance mankind as a whole.

But for now, it's just working at a retail job, living a lukewarm lifestyle...ugh.

^^^^Oh ho ho ho, trust me, you wouldn't want to indulge in that thought. I had horrible past with that.....it wasn't really......engaging in ego boosting. It may feel good now, but when you look back at one part, it feels so weird...and awkward.

Trust me. It's just a number, it isn't exactly activating your Kundalini or higher self.

      hehee, Glad to help Woodstock

Carrot, you could also be ISFx which just means you can really go either way at any given time.

My rant is... waiting for hubby's reply. I told him I wanted something to percolate while he slept this evening: "I want $1,000." and before he could laugh or off-handedly object, I told him I need to get Ray (my oldest boy) some good clothes, some under-pinning (actually, hard plastic to tac under the home) and some various odds and ends for the modular. I went on to say Ray could pay him back for any clothes I got him if he ever manages to actually find a job. But he needs clothes to find a job.
Hubby didn't laugh or rant. I explained the last 3 pairs of pants I bought for Ray from Wal-mart all ripped within a couple of months. He needs better quality clothing that fits better. Wal-mart doesn't carry his size (which is about a 48 waist- he's a big boy).

Then we talked about what to do to properly insulate the pipes, so I think he may seriously consider my question.

Another rant is that I'm crazily gassy. I fell asleep in my chair earlier and I swore I was going to belch for a continuous 30 seconds! I took 2 Gas-X and I'm still burping lol
