There isn't that I'm aware of, but they sure seem to. Though, you never know what the other ingredients in the drinks could be doing, changing the metabolism of the alcohol or possibly contributing minor mental or physiological effects that alter the overall mood of the experience. For instance red wine contains GHB which will definitely play some small part in changing an experience if you drink enough. GHB is kind of like a sedative (that works through the same core chemical but separate mechanisms as alcohol) and also a minor stimulant, and I suspect it plays some role in wine's infamous truth-telling effects. It's hard to say for sure since they don't really do studies on this kind of stuff.

I realised the friends were shit and didn't care about telling them to fuck off.

Whereas my sober mind would usually be like "no I can't do that, I like them even though I know they're shit friends and maybe I'll get to fuck (one of the hot ones) her some day even though I know it will never happen and she's fucking annoying anyway and maybe they'll change or something and wegnwe'LGKwe'glke ngweknwe" etc.

Also, red wine DOES contain GHB, but, afaik, it's in incredibly small amounts. I'm not sure if it would actually have an effect.
Although I suppose the levels could vary.

It's small for recreational, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't do anything. GHB synergizes especially well with alcohol, and we're not even talking about creating a buzz that feels like more than just an alcohol buzz, just something that effects the experience slightly.

Oh yes, you're correct. I had forgotten about that. I wouldn't say it synergises "well" though.
Many people have died from using the two in combination. It's actually a really bad synergy, because the effect is so multiplied.

is what I was referring to when I said they synergized well. The result of mixing recreational doses would never come into play in the wine scenario.

Probably not, but whisky always makes me really content, sambuca makes me hyper, and vodka makes me sick

but it's all probably just in my head.

I posted the negative stuff on the rant & rave thread, so I'll paste this part here.

I am not sure what to think about my parents. They're annoying but can be so funny at times without realising it. I'm not sure why they annoy me so much, they act really 'Canadian' and their mannerisms just irritate me. There was a time I had the same but I've purposely tried to drop them, and think I mostly have.

They were talking about how we can get our cat to lose weight, and my dad mentioned seeing some show on CNN about cat obesity. My mom asked "is that a common problem?" and my dad said that it is a problem in the US, because the people there are fat and so it makes sense that their cats are fat too, "and our cat is like a US cat." It probably doesn't sound very funny here but, just his mannerisms and the way he said it made it funny, that he wasn't even trying to be funny, he was being serious. Same with my mom. She's so insecure and usually depressed but will occasionally get happy and lose her mind a bit, say things that are funny without realising it. She was talking about how she travels a lot in her dreams, how she's always climbing mountains or going skiing or something. Then my dad joked "aren't you exhausted in the morning?" and she said quickly "yes I am exhausted but its so fun because I get to see different places ..." Again, it doesn't sound funny in text. It's like they aren't as aware of things as most humans, their sense of humor is different, they don't realise that something is funny so they just say it casually and seriously, and that makes it funnier. But anyway, I suppose my point is that I've been learning to find humor in their behaviors that used to only annoy me.

Though... I live in the US and I don't think I've ever heard about there being a problem with cat obesity.

There was a story on the news yesterday, and today, about just this. I think it mostly pertained to dogs, but cats were included.

I'm making pork chop soup! It's very healthy and really tasty!

I got the meal ready. Ate couple of spoonfulls, but desided to skip it for tomorrow when my host is back and his roommate awake. I've left with somewhat healed and tranquil feelings... so off to shut-eye (awoke for almost 48 hours)
