I go to Starbucks for lattes and occasionally to get studying in. This lounge is none of those things.

      Now I want a latte.

Starbucks should have a deal with DV. I'd totally order a nice drink after waking up, it'd be very helpful for staying up long enough to write down my dreams on my DJ.

I'd rather just make a pot of good coffee than spend 2 bucks on a single cup of crappy coffee.

Get a carmel brulee latte at Starbucks around Christmas time. You can't make that shit at home.

I'll just grind up some organic dark roast and load my French press.

I don't trust people that put crap in their coffee. For one, they don't know how to buy good coffee cause they never have to taste it.

I prefer coffee-flavored coffee, water-flavored water, and beer-flavored beer. Call me old fashioned, I guess.

About 98% of the time I drink normal coffee too. Occasionally I'll have lattes and such, if I feel like something sweet and feel like spending the money. If that's what I drank every day then I'd be 300 pounds and $5000 in debt.

(Just clarifying since there seems to be an assumption in this thread that everyone is only capable of sticking to one form of caffeinated beverage.)

inb4 I know this is supposed to be light hearted and it proably looks like I don't understand jokes or something. I do; I just don't care, it's still annoying.

If the lounge is considered the Star Bucks of here; then what is the Caramel Frap?

This area is awesome. We need candles around here.

Ironically I'm sitting here right now with a big mug of Folgers fortified with a couple shots of Evan Williams (that's poor man's Jack Daniels - apparently if you believe the label it was the first Kentucky Bourbon - weird that I never heard of it until recently and the bottle looks suspiciously like JD.. )

More like JD is the rich, tasteless man's Evan Williams! BaZiiiiing! (I seriously think EW tastes better than JD, JD's price is based solely off marketing).

I mostly drink Old Crow but when I was in Texas I drank Kentucky Deluxe.

What does coffee and bourbon taste like? Sounds horrible.

      I'll have to try it.

I used to mix gin with chocolate milk when we only had gin in the liquor cabinet, as a teenager.
      Was pretty nice surprisingly.

I think it tastes really good. I call it Kentucky Coffee (since it's made with Kentucky bourbon - weird - I guess bourbon originally came from the region in France? In fact I wonder if Kentucky has a large French immigrant population?) I used to make Irish coffee, but the Irish whiskey I can find is all expensive, like Jameson's. Good as hell, but expensive. And the taste isn't all that different really. I like Canadian Mist in coffee too, and I was putting vodka in it for a while because it has no taste. But I like the bourbon best. I also sometimes make a jamocha shake with malted milk powder in it and vodka. Mmmmm-mmmm good! Make it in a small bowl, not a cup, and don't mix the ingredients aside from mashing the ice cream down enough to get a thin film of milk and coffee over it and kind of mashed into it a little. That makes the liquids freeze and go all crunchy (assuming you have the right kind of ice cream). Then mix just a little as you take each spoonful. In fact, I happen to have the ingredients now - I'll get a pic later (this actually looks as amazing as it tastes).

Espresso, no milk no sugar, thank you very much!

ps: I make it myself, it's easier.

      Also, dandelion coffee, must try.

Ok, here's my special concoction - ice cream stew.

Just a little milk and coffee (cold coffee - brew some up and refrigerate it) - I really got too much liquid here. Let it sit and freeze on the ice cream for a few minutes.

The finished product, with malted milk powder and chocolate syrup added for extra yumminess. Sooo good!

What I want to say is that when I joind Dreamviews I was shocked to be getting 20 views per post.

      Now

When I leave a thread for a week or two my views creep-up to 50 then 70 views. Often I will stop posting untill my view count goes up. I wait till all 70 of my regular viewers have logged-in and read my latest installments.

Isn't Jameson's whiskey? I thought bourbon was American?

Eh.... yeah anyway, I agree most whiskey tastes the same. I just found some cheap (for Australia) Scottish Whiskey and it tastes just as good as any other expensive brand.

No way, I find that different whiskeys have very diverse tastes. There's so many alternate ways to produce it.

In Irish coffee you wouldn't really taste the difference, on it's own it can be quite distinct at time.
