Why are we so stupid in dreams!?!?!?!?!?

      Stupidest thing happened last night.

I realised I was dreaming, but previously I was dreaming about having to go to work.
So when I realised I was dreaming, I didn't think "OH! YES!!!! I don't have to go!". Oh no, what I thought was, "shit I better wake up quickly so I can leave in time!".

I even had two false awakenings and still didn't realise the whole thing was bullshit lol then I either woke up or was still asleep but lost lucidity. FUUUUUUUUUUCK

I keep thinking about things to do with LDing or dreaming while in dreams, but fail to actually do a RC.

I always talk about LDing with my friends. two days ago I was dreaming about telling my friends how hard it is to LD and about RCs and other techniques. One of them asked "What if we are dreaming now?". We all just laughed... xDDD

Long time ago, when I was practising LD I went to sleep and dreamt about how I asked myself "Am I dreaming?" and answered "No". -.- yeah, we are stupid.
      My opinion:
*Lucid Dreams, OBEs, Astral Projections are one and the same.
*There are no levels of lucidity. Quality changes if you apply some deepening.
*Lucid Dreams do not last more than 20 minutes.
      *Wolves are beautiful.

According to the Discovery Channel video on lucid dreaming, the main part of the brain that shuts down is the part that deals with logic. Which makes a lot of sense when you think about your dreams.

Dude, I hate to break it to you, but what happens is every time your about to go into REM sleep, your brain dies a little bit more, and that is why you feel stupid in dreams, and that is why we age. I tend to go for days without sleep, because that way I can remain youthful forever. Of course I have really bad dark circles and I'm always on the verge of passing out, but whatever keeps you young, eh? Why do you think dogs are so stupid? BECAUSE THEY SLEEP ALL THE TIME. How come they only live for about 15 years? BECAUSE THEY SLEEP ALL THE TIME. Now, because I'm so tired, everytime I sleep I get a lucid dream.

I'm just screwing with you and I had no idea where that came from. It's like I'm dreaming RC! *RCs*

Um... why is that stupid? Waking up to check if it is getting late isn't really stupid, I do that all the time on days I have stuff to do, prefer to wake up and remember the dream, than be woken up by an alarm and forget everything.

Why? Because I wasn't late! I didn't have to do ANYTHING that day lol

I was dreaming that I had to work, and I became lucid and still thought that I had to work so I was trying to wake myself up lol In other words I new I was dreaming but didn't realise that the dream before lucidity was not real. Really stupid lol

AH! Now THAT explains it. I thought it was a work day and you were trying to check the time.
      Oh well, happens to everyone.

No, we age because every time our DNA replicates a bit of the ends are chopped off. At first there are useless telomeres at the ends, but once we reach a certain age those are all used up and our important DNA starts to be used up, with things like hair color being the first to go.

I understand what you mean by being stupid in dreams
like when I was lucid & shouted out stupidly I'AM LUCID THE WORLD IS AWESOME then 3, 2, 1, Wake up then said FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARK got pissed off & didnt sleep for another 20 minutes

But thats the only time Ive done something stupid in a LD
most of the time im either having sex or looking around the butiful (FAIL spelling) dream world

Lol last night I had a dream were it was raining and I thought "woo now I won't have school."

Of course school won't be out because of rain.

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride

      That was the point hehehe

But yeah I also heard that it's because the logic section of our brain is kinda switched off or something like that

I'm pretty sure it's something scientific. Like your frontal lobes or something. I'm not sure.

I replied to the other post and apologized for that (I had meant to quote someone else), and with this one I didn't care that she was joking. It's an interesting fact that I thought would be worth bringing up when the topic was touched upon.

Fair enough. Sorry about that. I was a tad annoyed, can't remember why.
