      Marijuana and dreams

I first started smoking at age 13 and 23 now. I been smoking almost daily since the age of about 16 1/2 while only skipping a few days of smoking since then. Literally every day. Since the age of 16 till todays date I would not pass a drug test. Never stopped a full 30 days in the last 7 years or so.

I haven't quit yet but my supplement has shorted and every now and then I have to go a day or so without.

I notice when I stop just how much I dream again. Its pretty scary. All my dreams are either sexual or bad scary stuff. I remember waking up in the middle of a lot of them and aware what was going on and then alter it while I'm awake and then falling back to sleep with a semi continued dream of how I altered it.

Hard to explain very hard. All i know is cannabis has an affect on my dreams.

I'm going to sleep soon. I hope I don't have nightmares.

Sure, the effect it has is to prevent you from dreaming as much, as vividly, and ruining your recall.
Sorry to tell you, but cannabiniods create a massive handicap to LDing.

You don't dream at night, because you dream during the day. I have found myself thinking about stuff that I could not even possibly think about. Every thought in your head is connected, its like giant database, you may not see the connection but your brain does, and infact it has them all linked together. For example you may smell coffee and begin thinking about that report you had to do at work, your brain made a connection. Obviously most people will say "Well duh", but thats only the beginning. When your "high" especially on a drug that has psychedelic properties, it's just amazing to see how creative your brain is. I think marijuana is an interesting drug to use as you can explore things in your brain that you couldn't do in a normal state, HOWEVER, lucid dreaming with the release of DMT in your brain will give you far greater insights to how you are thinking and what you are thinking about. Just my opinion thought
I guess you could compare Lucid Dreams & Reality to a computer, the only difference between reality and a lucid dream is that one is stored on the Hard Drive and the other purely in RAM, if you don't try to remember it, you wont.

Marijuana is not a very good lucid aid, and in many cases is detrimental to dream recall. Slowing usage over a long period of time might make it easier for your body to adjust to a lower dose without increasing nightmare frequency.

I often go out drink after work with my buddies and I noticed that whenever I drink, my dream recall gets absolutely fucked. I'm sure I dream, but I can't remember squat.
The same happens to me with marijuana. Except that the few dreams I can recall after smoking it, are so damn wild and crazy. I wish I could get lucid after smoking pot (or could it be what I already got lucid once, and don't remember it?) and play with those crazy dreams. Too bad the recall would be shit anyway.

My suggestion is that whenever you plan to LD, be it a regular DILD or a more difficult method like WILD, do not smoke or drink. I'd even go further and say you should not eat junk food or anything that fucks up your sleep. Lucid dreaming is already a very hard thing to do, so try not to handicap yourself.
