      Sleeping Positions?

What position do you tend to sleep in?

It's not something I've ever thought about until I read an article about it, I normally sleep either on my front or side. If I 'think' about what position my body's in, I tend to just start to feel uncomfortable, so I try to forget about it.

The article I read was here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/3112170.stm

Interested to see how other people sleep

When I fall asleep, I sleep on my side, with my legs curled up. When I attempt to WILD, I lay on my back.

I'm almost like the freefaller on the pic, but my right leg is curled up and my left hand is between my big pillow and little pillow(which I lay my head on).

Stomach, with my arms at my sides. It's uncomfortable for me to put them under my pillow; my hands fall asleep.

If you're trying to WILD or do something similiar that involves SP, it's best to sleep on your back. Higher chance you'll go into SP that way.

I used to find myself getting a bad back from sleeping on my side because I would lose position and end up straining back luckily I actually found a really comfortable way to lay on my side.

Basically I take the corner of my duvet/covers and fold it over and under its self so I end up with both arms kind of hugging the fold which is really comfortable because it gives a bit of support and it moves the covers into a position which perfectly contours against my head.

So I kind of end up on my side.. but supported by both of my arms in the fold of the duvet... I really cannot explain for the life of me

On my side. Turned to the left in fetal position while hugging an extra pillow.

The problem is, I'm prone to sleep paralysis. My episodes are often vivid and very scary, and because of this the supine, or back position, is difficult to use.

I tend to sleep in the Foetus... in a way, with slight limb changes in stance.

:3 But if I have an animal on my bed I usually sleep on my back so they can lay on my tummy and keep it warm.

Usually on my side, sometimes if I'm tired on my back.
But I'm eager to try sleeping like the guy in Kexo's pic

      My style isn't listed.
When I'm serious about falling asleep, I roll onto my stomach. My legs are straight and my palms are under my thighs.

But I also sleep on my side, curled at times. Usually I'm on my right side with my left arm bent around my neck and my fingers near my right shoulder blade. That arm serves as a pillow of sorts. My right arm either wraps up along my left side ribcage of is in between my knees and near my ankles. Many people have said I remind them of a kitten when I sleep because I'm so much in a ball lol

When I'm feeling depressed or in need of comfort, I've noticed I sleep on my side, curled or on my back, straight, but my hands cup my breasts. I didn't start this until several months ago.

Until recently, I've always slept with at least one foot sticking out from under the covers. It helps regulate my temperature lol. Now-a-days, I sleep with the AC on and my back exposed to it. (I sleep on a couch and the window unit AC is directly above the couch).

Always always on my back with one leg bent so my legs make a 'P' shape.. My neck gets sore if I stay on my stomach too long and I usually can't even fall asleep that way.

The same for me I sleep like that most of the time, on other occasions I sleep on my stomach with hands under pillow. Sometimes, I fall asleep lying on my back just like in SP.
To be honest, I happen to have involuntary SP's which always occur when I'm lying on my back, either because it was my initial position of the sleep, or I just roll in my bed at night (BTW. I read it somewhere that the best solution for people suffering from nightmarish SP is to keep your body not lying on its back, it naturally prevents you from feeling someone/succubus sitting on your chest and suffocating you )
When I was younger I used to fall asleep in really freaky positions, I used fall asleep on my back, with left knee up and the right foot placed before the knee (as if I was sitting), and the quilt looked like a tent
      ....have a lucid dream tonight...

It depends. During the night i switch from my back to my side. Every 5 minutes or so I start to feel uncofortable and switch sides.

      however...

During my my afternoon nap I ALLWAYS sleep completely still lying on my back. And i never move when I´m sleeping.

I usually lay on my side. Even though people say it's easier to SP laying on the back, I find it much more comfortable laying on my side, plus I feel safer.

Curled up on my side to sleep, on my back to WILD, which hasn't been successful so far, so I will probably change it.

The kitty cats have been coming inside at night because of horrible winter conditions, so lately, I've been sleeping on my back. My ankles tend to be crossed and my hands stay under my butt lol. Then 2-3 cats sleep on my chest and legs.
Hmmm... I'm slightly allergic to cats and I've been waking up pretty miserable (stuffed up majorly but most temporarily). I wonder if that's been causing my recent dream recall problems....

I do something similar to that. The only difference is that my left arm is usually under my hand or beside my right arm.

Mind you, I haven't been sleeping like this for a while. I injured my knee and it has a huge bruise all around it, it's even on the sides beside my knee, so I've been trying not to sleep on it. Unfortunately the only position that will not put any pressure on an injured area is on my back, but I couldn't sleep like that if my life depended on it. So I've been sleeping more like fetal position... gah, I want to sleep normally so bad!
      Lolwut.

I sleep on my back slightly tilted to the left.

Often when I am awake and/or want to have a short nap go on my right side.
