      Struggling

Every time I try to lucid, I get to sleep paralysis. My body goes numb and I feel like there is a weight on my chest. The bed feels like it's shaking a tad but when I open my eyes...nothing. I do RC's just to be sure but I can never seem to lucid. Any tips?

Have you read the tutorial section on WILD's? There's also a section of the forum just for that you should stop by there it should be under lucid dreaming induction techniques (or something like that) if I remember correctly.

      Oh, and
"For a long time it gave me nightmares, having to witness an injustice like that. It was a constant reminder of how unfair this world can be, I can still hear them taunting him. 'Silly Rabbit, Trix are for kids!'... How come they just couldn't give him some cereal?"

Thank you! Sorry. I should've looked first instead of making a related thread.

And I'm new to this whole lucid dreaming thing. My friend said that once he gets sleep paralysis he opens his eyes and starts the hallucinate. He then falls back asleep and can control his dreams to an extent. I'm not sure if this is WILDing or not.

Sounds right, not sure about opening his eyes though.

Are you not supposed to? Once I'm in sleep paralysis I open my eyes and wait a few minutes, then RC just to find I'm not dreaming.

Reminds me of my early struggles. I don't feel myself being paralized, so I can lay thee relaxed and suddenly fall into a dream, that mimics what I felt and heard before I went into the dream. I had trouble finding when I was asleep and not.

You might have this to, you cant be sure. I say try it repeatedly and just focus as deeply as you can for any weird feelings. Relax and dont worry to much. All you need to do is wait and after awhile like 10 mins check, you just might have sliped into the dream state.

i find when i WILD i open my eyes but the best way to put this is that i open "my third eye" (the minds eye) when i WILD i get to the point that i can tell the difference between opening my real eyes and my dream eyes, i i feel my real eyes will open i dont bother if i feel anything other than my reaql eyes i open them and im in the dream!

thats just me though, hope this can help a little.

Don't open your eyes during SP, wait till a bit after and either a dream scene will pop up in front of you and you will be able to see anything in the LD with your real eyes closed, or you will feel sort of a shift and a calmness after the SP, in which case you may have to open your dream eyes which has happened to me, I felt the SP vibrations and i relaxed into them, but then they suddenly stopped and I saw nothing, just blackness with my eyes closed, I thought i had failed but when I opened my eyes I was in a dream. Also don't try only one RC, try many because one may not work all the time.

Maybe you're attempting the WILD at the wrong time. In the middle of the night after 4-6 hours of sleep, or during a nap 4-6 hours after waking, is best... Give or take a half hour or so. You have to experiment to find the time that's right for you. Also, you don't want to focus on the hallucinations or anything, and just keep relaxing. Imagining a dream scene with the five senses (sight and touch seem to work best for me) can also help a lot.

Also, I moved this to the WILD subforum.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.
