Thread: Bared for all - 15 years of precognitive dreaming

Interesting. This thread will probably be moved to the beyond dreaming section. I've been having lots of precog dreams lately. Unlike yours, discussing mine after remembering the dream or discussing them with people has no effect on them playing out later in waking life.

before new years I dreamed I was standing in a movie theater lobby watching someone I knew from my grad class being chased by some woman. He left the place and then re entered with another woman, only with this woman they seemed to be together. Someone grabbed my arm then and said "Go back to Spencer." (who is a woman that I know from town.) On new years eve, I was at a bar and saw my friend from high school from the dream, who I hadn't seen in a year or so, walk in with the exact same girl under his arm that was his girlfriend from the dream. I wondered about Spencer then, and after I thought this, Spencer walked into the place...

I dreamed I went to visit a psychic friend of mine in a bookstore, she was showing me a large book like and encyclopedia she pointed to some words and insisted that I remember them because they were important. I emailed her and told her about the dream when I woke up. The other day She was at a party held at a store that sold crystals, and she was looking through a crystal encyclopedia, she suddenly called my name and pointed at a crystal that is supposed to help with dreams, she said I should get one. It didn't hit me until I go home that the dream played out in the store pretty closely. i emailed and told her, she was amazed!

I can definitely relate on all of that too, I have precogs like that every once in awhile and have been for awhile now. In fact, a few days ago, I dreamed I was in the mall, and it went on lock down because of a dangerous person. The next day, I was in class, and the school went on lock down because we had a shooting on campus. There have been lots of little things too, like dreaming about something random, like something on TV or an object being placed somewhere, and I don't think about it again until I see the TV show or see the object placed where it was in the dream. It's pretty neat stuff.

Its interesting how your mind puts its own little twist on the story. Then there are those pre-cogs that are exactly the same and blow you away. I like those.

There was about a 2 month span of my life where I had a precog every day! The farthest event into the future I saw was a Christmas present from a specific person, which was 2 months away at the time I believe. you're not alone, I've had this too and it's quite odd. It leads me to believe it would be possible while lucid too

I've had a couple of those, where they are so accurate down to details other than perhaps the standard dream differences, like slightly shifted furniture and whatnot. They make me want to dream more and more!

Nice first post and welcome to DV! Interesting dreams you've had, can't say I've had precognitive dreams since I can't recall any like that but who knows. Please keep share, would be interesting to see what else you dream

24/04/2011 Approx time: 0300 Premonitious: Yes

Had a dream of some really weird (fast changing) weather. One minute it’s foggy with the fog layer at the same height of our upstairs windows. The wind then blows really fast, the fog clears, and then cb activity starts to form with big mushy clouds, the fog ends up melting like river and flowing away??!?! I then wake up to open the curtains and its extremely foggy outside! Don’t recall any forecast stating that.

Had a dream I sat on the toilet to pee, I then looked down and found I peed outside the toilet! I wake up in the morning to have a shower and notice lots of standing water in the bathroom by the toilet. My son had been just a few minutes ago.

Had a dream I was a passenger on a plane and there was a disruptive passenger who was trying to make his way forward to the cockpit whilst the door was temporarily ajar. A big man he was - So I started warming other passengers up to the idea that we need to stop him. The dream then suddenly ended. I then work up at 0700 and accidently stumbled on the following news article: Incident: Jetblue A320 over Atlantic on May 14th 2011, unruly passenger

A Jetblue Airbus A320-200, registration N537JT performing flight B6-819 from New York JFK,NY (USA) to Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) with 150 passengers, was enroute at FL350 about 160nm south of New York about 45 minutes into the flight when the captain got aware of a passenger who insisted of being entitled to use a cabin crew seat in the cabin. The passenger, reported to be a TSA screener, was travelling on a staff pass he had gotten from a friend working for Jetblue. The captain decided to return to New York where the aircraft landed safely about 2.5 hours after departure. The unruly passenger was offloaded.

The aircraft departed again and reached Santo Domingo with a delay of 4.5 hours.”

Had a dream I saw a massive multi-coloured owl and beside it a dead bird. That day, at my new place of work we were receiving ground instruction and the topic was bird strikes. The instructor described in great detail and showed a video of a dead bird who died as a result of a collision with a Cessna 152.

Had a dream I was driving my car and the steering wheel was massively out to the left when attempting to maintain a straight drive. It occurred to me that I might need some tracking done on my car to adjust this. Later that morning, I log on to my usual pilot forum website and the first link I stumble across is:

On the same night as the above, I had a dream that an ex-colleague gets so frustrated, that he shouts abuse, packs his bags and leaves. In the morning, at my new place of work, a senior employee announces that an employee at another base was drink driving and knocked down a pedestrian. He was now in jail and going to get the sack.

In my dream I’m handling a small spider, which then descends from my finger using it’s web. That day, I’m going flying (small aircraft) with my friend on what becomes a cancelled trip. As I’m getting into the seat, my left hand brushes a small spider which was previously resting on the back of the seat. It ends up on my hand. I then blow it off and remember my dream!


05/07/2011 Approx time: 0500 Premonitious: Yes (but in the late afternoon)

In my dream, we (me and my little family) are in some kind of warehouse where there’s a very big and brave ginger cat who decides to confront the lion. The lion bites the cat who then runs back towards us (WTF???). That day, in the afternoon I’m watching kids TV with my little boy, when a programme about talking animals appears. In it is a big lion and a small lion making good conversation.

In my dream, I’m standing in a new shop that’s being renovated, outside something (sounds glassy) smashes on the floor, the door to the shop opens and water begins flooding the shop floor, with it lots of fish, different varieties. I see this leech like fish getting closer and closer to me. I move to try to avoid it but before I know it there’s another one with my fingers already in it’s mouth, I try to move it off and then the dream ends.

Later that evening, I was watching ‘World’s craziest fools’ by Mr T. There’s a video clip of someone doing exercise (weight lifting). The weight bar ends up puncturing the fish tank which then completely empties of water and little fish which are now on the floor gasping for breath!

Had a dream of my friend telling me via MSN Messenger that he’s partner has had a baby. He shows me pictures. Upon waking up, my wife gets a missed call. She calls the number back (her sister) to find that her cousins' wife had a baby boy just a few hours earlier.

11/09/2011 Approx time: 0530 Premonitious: Yes (almost straight away)

In my dream, my wife and the kids are in my Mum/Dad’s back garden when we see a red single engine aircraft. We see this thing go by a few times, suddenly I see it again with its tail missing and spinning (but hovering!) at the same time. Eventually it moves a little further South West and crashes tail first into the “Chinese” man’s garden. It catches fire with at least 1 of the occupants coming out with their cloths and hair on fire. People rush to help them.

That morning at about 10:20 on MSN, a friend sends me a link to a news story (sorry unable to reveal) which brings news of a crash involving an aircraft being flown in Papua New Guinea being co-piloted by an ex colleague of mine. Although the accident happened nearly 48 hours earlier I was totally unaware of it till my friend broke the news. Freaked and speechless for days. RIP Tommo.

That's an interesting observation about how dwelling on the memory prevents the event from happening. That has not been my experience, but it still must be a useful clue about how these things work.

An observation that I have made is that all of the events I foresee are metaphorically related to at least one other person's thoughts besides my own, and the other person's thought has to somehow extend in my direction. Maybe I'm killing off most of my potential premonitions by dwelling on my dreams after I awake, and telling other people about them, and the ones that are left are the ones that have other people involved, which aren't so easy to use up that way.

I've had a few experiences that suggest its possible for different, inconsistent causal threads to be woven into the same reality. A 'random' event can be recorded by two independent devices, then the compared recordings don't match. As far as I can tell, there is nothing in existing physics theory that prohibits this from happening, but it is assumed not to ever happen, and as a practical matter, it almost never happens. If it happened very much, a lot of things we depend on would not work. Apparently there is some kind of natural law that tries to force a global consistency, and has to be overcome in order for that consistency to be broken. It seems there must be some kind of similar mechanism for making precognitive paradoxes relatively rare.

When I push in that direction, my sense is that a primary barrier to precognitive dreaming is that the awareness that makes it possible is easily misused in destructive ways. Its not that the precognitive information itself is misused, its the ability to manipulate luck that comes with it. If a large minority of the population could do this very strongly, history would quickly be driven into a ditch much deeper than the one we're in now. So some providence obstructs us. Maybe our collective desire to survive and succeed is what obstructs us. The few people who do have weak and inconsistent psychic abilities are generally not more moral than other people, but there are so few of them that they can't do much damage.

Generally speaking, I don't regard predicting the future as being the primary purpose of a precognitive dream. In my case, I'm reaching for self-knowledge that's only possible at the level where precognition is possible, and the precognition occurs mostly by side effect. I think our tendency to misuse self-knowledge is the barrier to gaining that also, as well as a sane understanding of 'astral plane' type stuff, which is related.

Some of your dreams sound like real time instead of a future event, as in you're somehow tapping into a collective unconscious.

The more I think about the implications of this, the more disturbing it gets. Its as if the future is running away from your awareness like a scared animal. I don't have just a few precognitive dreams about trivial things, often my awareness stretches perceptibly out into the future even while I'm awake. So if I have something like your pattern going on even partially, it would destabilize everything I touch, with conditions being etched away by my mind almost from the moment they begin. Looking back at my life, it is remarkable how impermanent everything is. People who are scared of me would be right.

Thinking about it, its clear that for the most part I don't have dream premonitions that fail to come true as a result of my thinking about them. I'm aware that the premonition is a premonition the moment I have it, and they always comes true, with rare exceptions. But they may not come true in quite the same manner or fullness that they would have originally, and that's still a troublesome thought.

I have studied precognitive dreams for four years. I hope we will have chance to communicate and share about some views and opinions.
