NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

It was a dull day. The outbreak had been months ago, and as far as we knew my family and I were the only survivors in our neighbourhood. We had barricaded our house with planks, closed all the windows, garage, garage door, back door. The main door was also barricaded from the inside, but it was removable. My grandma was staying with us, which always cheered up my mom, knowing she was alive and safe.

Zombies were not dangerous when they were alone, but a large number of them made things ugly. We would get "waves" of zombies one in a while, and we would have to turn all the lights off, and stay inside without making any noise.

One day, I woke up and heard a noise downstairs. It was a zombie trying to open the main door. It scared the crap out of me but the zombie left eventually. Later that day we got a wave of about a hundred zombies, and 10 of them were trying to get in. I Was scared, and thought we were done. Suddenly a blue flash filled the streets. I looked outside and all the zombies were gone. I didn't know what had happened.

Some day I saw a group of 10 people driving 3 or 4 cars around the neighbourhood. They went into the woods, I wondered if there was a camp or settlements nearby. One of them saw me looking at them through the window and waved at me. It made me uneasy.

My dad wanted to go outside, he couldn't stand living inside the house 24/7, and we were running out of food. I insisted it was a bad idea, there had been strange things happening lately, but he went out. The blue flash happened again. Two tall alien figures were standing across the street from my house. They had weapons. They took my dad, my brother, my mom and my grandma. I ran off to the woods. I was scared. I came back home later that day, but there was nothing, just zombies. I couldn't believe it was over for my family, I would never see them again.
