      Question Revisiting the SP Technique(s?).

So, a while back i came across a post on Facebook from the page -Mind Blowing Facts-. Luciddreaming.jpg
This was the post, and i thought i'd ask of your opinions on this technique, and maybe why this tecchnique may/ may not work. I have tried it twice now (Not including the times i tried it a long time ago), but i haven't been able to do it. Are there more than one ways of doing this technique?

I do not naturally go into sp, so i don't know if i will ever be able to, but i won't let that discourage me!

Appreciate the help guys. Good luck to all of you

Meh, tried it 100+ times in my first two months of LD. Then I got here and was told to forget SP. I did, and look at my DJ to see the difference. I also read ETWOLD and this thread:
      http://www.dreamviews.com/wake-initi...explained.html

It actually was posted the day I signed up here. those together made me forget the stupid videos and articles about LDing that you can read anywhere and start seeing what actually works for the majority if you just put the effort in and actually do it every day and night. Things like RC (correctly), mantra, WBTB, sleeping the same 8 hours every night, and DJing. Simple produces results, it just takes time.

On page 8 (post 183 onwards) I transcribe some very good stuff on Sleep Paralysis.

The last 3 posts are very exciting for me cos my best dreams happened (years ago) when I used to sit up and meditate on my breathing for an hour then lie down and sleep.

I find it funny that the image shows an OBE but describes a simplified WILD method. I saw this picture too, and if you are really interesting in lucid dreaming, forget it. There are many other techniques here that are legitimate and will work far better.

Not strange if you have ( like i do ) OBEīs while trying classical WILD. Indeed, most of my WILDs are OBEs.

I think this technique has some truth in it and also many misunderstandings. Itīs probably best to forget this, but if i had to save some features of this technique, i would say: to fall asleep on your back ( like yoga nidra posture ) and to spend some time meditating on your body, on the feelings of sleepiness and relaxation and let yourself doze off. If you are waiting there like a rock, this is an indirect way to keep your awareness on your body. yes it is, but with an important drawback. you are allowed to move and relax.

The most important mistake there is that you must stay awake and keep quiet like a rock. It may work sometimes, but thatīs not important. It only makes it harder to relax and fall asleep.

Check your memory, did any suprising event happpen ? does the present make sense ? visualize what you will do when lucid, and how. Reality check as reminder of your intention to lucid dream tonight. Sleep as good as you can; when going to sleep, relax and invite whatever comes with curiosity. Grab your dream journal immediately as you awake and write everything you can recall (if only when you wake up for good). Keep calm, positive and persistent, and don't forget to have fun along the way

One big flaw is it says right away that you must stay awake. No. You must stay aware AND fall asleep. The idea of stayig awake pretty much messes up the idea of LDing.
