Lol, think about that for a minute… if it is possible, how would anybody who isn't dead yet know?

Maybe if we give small gamma shocks to the frontal cortex of a dead person we might induce lucidity (!)

i dunno if this counts, i was once lucid and asked this girl if i come here when i die, she answered me yes... but hey think about it really, whats it mean to be lucid? awake and self aware and the main thing, conscious! i would like to be conscious on the other side when i go there lol and i believe i will be i will be dead and lucid

Actually if we think about it...
what if dead people are currently in a endless lucid dream?
where they meet all people they want, and do what they want?
seems a interesting question to discuss about :p

You just descibed the ultimate goal of Tibetian Monks who have been studying lucid dreaming for thousands of years!

A lucid dream would be the perfect afterlife to be honest.. I once had an idea that every individual person could have their own lucid dream that they can "invite" other people to, so they can be by themselves or with friends, and there could be some "server" type dreams with millions of people in them.. Just an idea of course but really cool to think about!

I just watched a fascinating Youtube before coming here and finding this thread

      "Attaining Lucidity While Dead?".

Buddhist monastics train themselves through 4 stages and hope to die as far along as they can. The stages are:

      1) - Concentration
      2) - Meditation
      3) - Samadi
      4) - Beyond Samadi.

Concentration is where you have to keep bringing your mind back to what you are doing over and over. Someone with good concentration is a good student and a good worker. They can be trusted to get the job done.

Meditation is when the concentration gets so good that their is only duality. There is just a subject and an object. The subject is "me" and the object is what I am doing. I am not distracted. This is a high state of awareness.

The next stage is Samadi. Buddhist monastics meditate to get to this stage 24/7. This is a good state to live in and die in.

In this state there is no duality. No subject and object. No meditator and object of meditation.

      There is only ONE.

But the teacher said that this is not desirable. We dont want JUST to be ONE. We continue to meditaye to go beyond Samadi. We continue to meditate to go behind the oneness. And into the 4th state.

The fourth state is what we call the first, (1st) step to enlightenment because you are beyond oneness.

      Oneness is not enough.

      Oneness is only Samadi. (!???!)

I think this may be relevant to the name of this thread.
