      AURORA - Finally arrived!!

Hi all, I finally have my Aurora headband!

As I only try to enter lucid dreams by DEILD ( using an alarm ) I knew that Aurora would be ideal. I put it on when I went to bed and before I knew it the lights were flashing, I kept still and within seconds felt powerful vibrations, rolled out and into a lucid dream. After my lucid, I got up for real and checked the time. The lucid dream was within 2 hours of me going to bed and as we know that the first REM period is quite short, proved that the REM tracking in the headband is very accurate. Its also really comfortable to wear .... excited that finally a EILD device has been invented that has REM tracking ( bye bye Remee ) and is comfortable ( bye bye RemDreamer / Novadreamer ) and is an absolute ideal tool to perform an easy DEILD

Hi, it was $299. It took about 8 months. I believe they are not in mass production till the beginning of next year. I got my unit early as I was able to offer some valuable testing for them :-)

Great to hear it, what about the rest of the first night?

Please keep detailed records. I'd really like to see how strongly the signals correlate with every dream occurring.

Waiting with baited breath for more updates... I'm really hoping to see like 10+ signals a night from Aurora, each one smack dab in the middle of a dream.

Speaking of freezing over, a little birdy told me that N2D2 may go to production by the end of this year. We'll see, we'll see...

The silence is deafening! What' going on? How many notifications do you get per night? Any more lucids? Are you playing with the settings, are they very flexible? Does it work whenever you use it, like for naps? Does it require being put on at the beginning of the night or can you put it on at an arbitrary time, like after WBTB in the middle of the night, and have it signal at the very next REM? Details, man! Don't tease us and go silent!

Hi everyone, Ive been wearing the Aurora for about 10 nights in a row and would like to give you my experience. Firstly, I have no 'loyalty' or connection to the iWinks team, I am unbiased and got my unit early as I put myself forward and let them know I could help out.

So the Aurora, as a device, is sleek and stylish, I was very surprised just how lightweight it is, the capsule almost feels empty, its comfortable to wear and after about 30 seconds I hardly noticed the 3 sensors, they are covered with cloth, non intrusive and the whole device looks like it has been carefully crafted for the best user experience. I was able to sleep on my side without the device slipping or feeling uncomfortable in any way - it really is a great fit, very pleased as this was a priority for me.

There are many settings in the accompanying software and I set mine to flash yellow at a 75% brightness. The I put it on and went to bed. The first thing I noticed was the lights flashing which woke me up, I kept still and performed a successful DEILD. Even as I was transitioning to the lucid dream I thought 'F*** me!' it works :-D The lucid dream was short but I got up and checked the time and discovered that this lucid dream was only 2 hours into sleep so Aurora had accurately tracked my first REM period.

Over the next few nights I was able to perform 2 more successful DEILD's and when those didnt work was given a great opportunity to perform a WILD, the device really does seem to wake me up during REM. Last night I was dreaming and the Aurora went off but I didnt wake up, instead the lights infiltrated my dream ( The whole scene pulsated a pale yellow colour ). This is the first time ive had a device cue right into my dream so was surprised and quite excited.

Each night wearing the Aurora brings different adventure. Last night for example, I had the Aurora wake me once (giving me a DEILD opportunity) it infiltrated my dream once (giving me a DILD opportunity which I messed up) and I think 2 or 3 times went off but I didnt have enough awareness to do anything.

The Aurora is a fantastic tool. It creates situations in the night making your brain chemistry perfect for a lucid dream and does seem to be accurate. There are a few bugs ( it went off when I was awake ) but the team are constantly on top of it, sending updates directly to the device. They do seem to be in this for the long haul.

Would I recommend the Aurora to anyone? Yes, I definitely would! I love my device and with more DEILD practice including some 'day work' ( reality checking to light sources ) I know my lucid count will go through the roof

So, here are the number which I all accredit to Aurora.

12 nights total had led to the following ....

      2 DEILDS
      3 DILDS
3 missed opportunities ( I really should have converted these to lucid dreams but was too groggy )

These numbers are more than I would have achieved without the device. As the Auroras REM tracking gets even better ( which it does as they collect the brain wave data from users ) it will become more accurate over time.

@FryingmanThe silence is deafening!

Hi Fryingman - I get about 5 notifications per night that I remember, there maybe more. I am able to view my sleep graph each day and the next update from the iWinks teams will have notifications on exactly when the device flashed during the night, so i will know more then.. You can set a delay time so you can put it on at the beginning of the night or after a wbtb, you can set the intervals of flashes, the brightness, the speed of flashes etc,

I hope this is helpful, Im happy to answer questions! :-)

They also have a new update at NO KICKSTARTERS PLS! Link edited out by gab

Awesome, thanks for the info. Very interested to see how it works over time and if you continue to notice the signals. Sounds very hopeful! Especially for DILD, since I'm not the best DEILDer. I hope though that a device like this could change that by waking directly from dreams and training myself to return directly to sleep.

I hope the "signaling while awake" thing is fixed: that makes effective WBTB use very hard, making it difficult to return to sleep from the improper signaling.

      Hi Ezzo,

Thanks for the detailed report. This is information we really need about induction devices like these.

What is it that the REMdreamer does good, what the Aurora doesn't? Since you said in earlier posts you have lucid dreams every night thanks to the REMdreamer.

I'm curious because i really think the concept will work. I have a REMdreamer but i just cannot fall asleep with the thing on because it is so uncomfortable. I want to order the Arora but am not totally convinced yet..

Hi, its important to know that DEILD is my preferred way of becoming lucid and thats why I use these devices to wake me up rather than trying to make lights infiltrate my dreams. The RemDreamer's REM detection is excellent in the way that it detects eye movement and the light cues are always reliable and on cue. The Aurora detect REM quite well but not as much as RemDreamer. However this is not an issue because Aurora is a 'learning' device; the more sleep date the iWinks team gather the more they can tweak, twist & tone their algorithms, so its only going to get better. They really are committed to this product, thats for sure and I dont doubt that very soon their REM detection will be unfallable. There are teething problems but thats to be expected in a new product

Once their REM detecting algorithms are as reliable as Remdreamer then they are pretty much untouchable in my opinion. Its important to understand the Aurora and RemDreamer use completely different ways of detecting REM.

My biggest issue with RemDreamer is it is very much like strapping a small car to your face wheras Aurora is very comfortable. Theres also the advantage of looking at in depth sleep data every day which shows when you was in rem, light sleep, deep sleep etc and for how long. The Aurora has huge potential not only for lucid dreamers but for sleep tracking, smart alarms etc

My Remdreamer has now been abandoned, I dont think I'll be wearing it again, for me, the future is Aurora

Thanks for the response. I'll just be waiting a few weeks/months (waiting for some more reviews and progress in the REM detection) and eventually order the Aurora i think.

Hey that's cool. Can you post some printscreen outcomes of the device? (graphs, statistic and so on) I'm using zeo rem detector, which works fine, but I would like to buy something that is singnaling in REM.

So, one person has got one. WTF ? Weren't they all supposed to be sent out in December ? I've been waiting a year for mine. I've also been waiting over a year for my LucidCatcher.
I certainly wouldn't advise anyone to pre-order any of these devices at any time.
Both teams are managed by idiots who have absolutely no concept of customer service, planning or honesty.

I certainly wouldn't advise anyone to pre-order any of these devices at any time.
Both teams are managed by idiots who have absolutely no concept of customer service, planning or honesty.

      (Scammers maybe?)

It could be worse I suppose? For example, if you are waiting on bended-knee for the N2D2.

P.S. Mods and duplicity - Talking of updates... I suggest they (the 'gods' and the dream-rockers on here) take a closer look at post #14 above. Please proof read it all for me if you kindly would. I highly doubt permission has been granted to post that link either. Please indicate if it has? Why?

I had an Aurora ordered for me a couple years ago. I didn't get in early on Kickstarter, so I'm on the "pre-order" tier (back when it was $199). I've been keeping up with the device this whole time, and looks like the "developer" and "lucid dreamer" tiers are now being fulfilled.

I have yet to see product reviews from any one in those tiers...which I find odd. No unboxing videos, no first impression videos, no nothing. It does seem like iWinks is doing what they are saying (pics of hundreds of devices, product boxes, etc) but I'm still half-wondering if I'll ever get my order.

Truth be told I'll forget about about this thing for several months at a time, then randomly remember, check updates, and forget again. This has taken a looooong time to come to production, and probably not worth the $100 saved over today's price, but I got it as a present so might as well wait it out.
