Alternate Shared Dream Scenario

Would it be possible to interact with another dreamer when not sharing dreams directly? Inception is a lot easier than the movie makes it out to be, and I've implanted things in people's dreams before.

Could you summon something in a dream, and send it to find another dreamer? Kind of like creating temporary thought forms or tulpa to do your bidding. I get a T-Rex under my control while lucid, and send it off to find another dreamer. Could it find it's target? I wouldn't necessarily expect my target to see a T-Rex, maybe for him it might manifest as a mythical dragon or even a Godzilla, but either way it's a big bitey lizard.

And I think the best way to test this out... Is to challenge WakingNomad to a duel!!!

I know Nomad won't refuse, so bring it! Lets bombard each other's dreams with assassins and schemes.

cusp are you serious ? nomad is a high level lder a nightmare avenger , he knows it he could easily wwash you off
and can you choose your astral image,yourself ?

I think in nomad's dj entry on the shared dream journal it was Atras that turned into a winged and "He flies into the air, transforming into an angel consumed in orange flame"

I'd like to hear what happens with this dream sabotage and assassination attempts!

To seriously answer the question you first put. You can use phones and internet in dreams. I think it will work very well. Except that letters might be hard to read or so i've heared. Phones might still be an option.
But i've had confirmed shared dreams of meeting up on msn and this forum.

Never thought of using phones before. Could be a very simple and easy way to start shared dreaming. I suppose I could always give Nomad a few crank calls, and send him a bunch of pizzas he didn't order.

I don't subscribe to the astral mumbo jumbo. For me dreams are an expression of duality, a realm of waveforms or archetypes. I could easily embody any archetype I could come up with, but mostly prefer to be myself. Don't worry, I know a thing or two about dream control and dream combat.

Hmm...actually phones are a great idea. Or even walkie talkies. I once got a call directly from my subconscious once during a lucid dream. It was so bizarre! If you've ever seen the Mothman Prophecies, it was very similar to when the main character gets a call from the mothman.

Also...so that was your t-rex then? I wonder who sent the xenomorphs.

First try, I never managed to pull of any of the stuff I planned while awake. But I did manage to send a pair of fire golems and a pair of salt golems while I was dreaming. Now just gotta wait until he updates his DJ.

Edit: OK, so he wasn't attacked by golems, but by alien grays. But... grays are sometimes described as biological machines, which pretty much makes them golems.

His dream opens with this:

I am surrounded by alien Greys. I sense they are some kind of soulless organic robots, controlled by a distant mind. Their creepy eyes feel hollow because there is nothing there.

So maybe, maybe not on that one. I'll keep trying, but not tonight, got the attempted dream meeting.

Haven't tried for you in a bit nomad, over the weekend I was trying for the shared dream project, and last night I was just to tired. Plus my recall has been horrible.

But I've got a little something special to send your way tonight! Wish I could say more but I don't want to ruin the surprise, lol.

In dreams, anyone is exactly what they expect to be. There are no levels and only expectations.

Ok, I thought it would be hilarious to send some hentai rape tentacles after Nomad. Only problem was, trying to visualize sending them after a guy was just too unpleasant to focus on, so I gave up on that fairly quickly. Dunno if I was at it long enough to get through, but I doubt it.

Not unless they are prone to getting lucid already. Otherwise it would just be a very unpleasant nightmare.

I think in my battles with the Cusp that I can remember, we are at 1-1. The first time he defeated me by changing into a building. Hmm... He doesn't remember it, but he is a fan of The Tick.

The second one Raven and I remember, but he still doesn't. It was four of us against him though. haha. Do not underestimate anyone.

In most of our encounters where I didn't remember, you describe me doing moves that are so me. Like the one with the tentacles, at the time I was thinking of ways to capture attention, and I practically had that little gambit drawn out on paper, then you describe it to me. Or one day I was thinking dream combat was a lot like the old "your shoelace is untied" or "your fly is down" gags. Then Mosh has a dream where I try to pull a "Hey! You're bleeding!". Neither of those ploys worked very well, but they were good in theory.

What's a win anyways? It's more like a game of tennis. There is a lot of back and forth, making plays so to speak. If Nomad and I each just sent monsters after each other, we'd deal with them too easily, like Nomad just did with those dogs (which I'm not taking credit for)

I don't expect to score a "win" by beating Nomad up with monsters. But using what I know about his dreaming style, I could send a monster I know he will defeat easily and as it's dying, have it say something like "You may have defeated me, but my master is already on his way to steal the Crystals of Light!". Knowing Nomad is a sucker for epic quests, I'd hope he takes the bait and goes off to save those stupid crystals I completely made up. That I would consider a win. I actually considered using this example, but it seemed too complex a thing to try to convey.

I'm less interested in winning or losing, and more interested in just seeing how well this works if at all. Messing with Nomad is just a bonus.

I thought I'd try the tentacles just for fun, but now I've got a clever scheme tailor made just for WakingNomad. And it's no simple beast to fight or tame. Should be good if it works

Actually, I was talking about sending something to their dream to tell them they're dreaming, not to sent tentacles there. Where'd you get that idea from?

I dunno if Nomad was trying to send stuff to me, but my recall has been terrible lately, although I've barely been sleeping either.

I am sure I got through to him last night, the only question is with what. As I'm falling asleep, I create a little mental loop. Eventually the loop takes on a life of it's own, and carries on without my having to focus on it which allows me to fall asleep. Then my dreams start off executing that loop over and over. Worked like a charm, only problem was that once I was asleep, my loop began to mutate and change, and I'm not entirely sure how much of my original intent was getting through. I can barely remember the variances in the loop, one was like a screen of credits rolling by and every third name was WakingNomad.

So I'm not going to disclose what my gambit to invade nomad's dreams was just yet. If it didn't work, I'm going to keep trying, since it's too good of a plan to waste.
