    Buggy Experiments (Giant Beetles)

Morning of August 6, 1995. Sunday.

    Dream #: 10,457-02 and 10,457-03. Reading time: 2 min 30 sec.

An unfamiliar female scientist is performing anatomical experiments on spiders and insects. Her activities result in the spiders gaining the capability of flight.

In what seems like a composite of a business office and a police station, an almost human humming sound gets louder and louder. It becomes a vivid, eerie, and anticipated event. Weevils and rhinoceros beetles that are about the size of horses drill through the wall. There seem to be drills jutting from their heads as if they had mechanical or cybernetic features. That may be because they are animatrons for a science-fiction film though this remains uncertain. The familiarity of the situation is a seamless composite in mood and awareness of the final events from “Bug” (1975), and the scene from “Total Recall” (1990) of which includes the following dialogue:

Douglas Quaid: “Okay. Let’s say you’re telling the truth and this is all a dream.”

Dr. Edgemar: “The walls of reality will come crashing down.”

Lori: “Now you’ve done it, now you’ve done it.”

I become aware of the presence of Zsuzsanna at this point, my conscious self identity emerging, but I residually associate her with the character of Lori.

In another dream, I am riding in a car driven by my brother-in-law Bob. I am moving to an unknown house, presumably in La Crosse. A suitcase falls off. I quickly get it back onto the roof of the car at superhuman speed as we travel. We pass by a playground where children are being annoyed by a swarm of mosquitoes. (My conscious self identity is absent. There is zero awareness of my current life.)

Waking process mediation, whether it be in subliminal, liminal, or concurrent modes, sometimes features a wall of which is breached in anticipation of the reticular activating system’s consciousness reinitiation. The process is not much different from using a door for a dream’s exit point. The only difference stems from the degree of self-awareness and extent of subliminal, liminal, or concurrent expectation. You will see these same processes and REM sleep causal factors, in the same order, in thousands of my dreams since early childhood, and I am now 58.

The female scientist is my subliminal awareness of Zsuzsanna.

Experiments are a subliminal association with introducing the conscious self identity and its will into dream space. These two dreams are not “lucid” in the conventional sense (though the term “lucid” is misleading).

Spiders gaining the capability of flight is a result of projected vestibular system correlation, an extension of my imaginary hands.

A wall introduces anticipation of the waking process and anticipation of the emergence of my conscious self identity. “The walls of reality will come crashing down.” My dream, firstly seen as real, is not real.

The actor Dennis Quaid, sharing the last name of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s fictitious character of Douglas Quaid, was in a movie called “Dreamscape” (1984).

The giant beetles and their humming drills introduce attentive awareness of increasing neural energies and the activation of my sense of hearing during the waking process.

Riding in a car is linear vestibular system correlation. Any vehicle is a processing factor of a dream’s imaginary physicality. The driver would reveal the status of the process itself. In this case, it is my brother-in-law, who represents the lack of intelligence of my dream self in subliminal space. The suitcase is a processing factor of conscious self emergence, which has not yet occurred at that point and the association is with having clothes inside, the subliminal awareness I am undressed when I sleep.

A swarm of mosquitoes introduces attentive awareness of increasing neural energies and the potential to perceive legitimate environmental sounds, though the process is projected in this case, a playground being analogous to otherwise enjoying the dream state.
