1. Extreme Numbness!

This attempt was the coolest, but also the most weird attmempt I have done.
I set a six hour WBTB Alarm and then I tried to go to sleep. I sometimes have problems with falling asleep, so I said "hah whatever I do a meditation attempt in a too comfortable position so I can fall asleep". The clock was nos 22.30 and I started to relax I didn't think much in fact I can write exactly what I thought:

"Ok I am going to go through my day, I woke up and my said that she was ill and was going to stay home from work, ah I will never be able to stay awake while doing this hehe"

Then I felt my right leg "yawn" you know the feeling you get when you yawn, it felt exactly like that, but in my right leg.
I told myself "Oh sleep paralysis" in sarcasm. I then felt the same yawning sensation on my left leg.
I thought for a second that my legs really got numb and I muscle twitched just for fun and I felt that the numbness increased!
I then imagined that I really was unmoveable, so I started to twitch my arms and so on. Then when I tried to move my right leg slightly I felt a magnetic feeling, everytime I moved my right toe I could feel it in my left toe!
I have no idea to explain this, but every bodypart felt connected in someway. I tried to slightly move my left arm and I felt the magnetic feeling in my left arm! I though about lucidology and he said that when the legs a partially paralysed, the way to increase it is to move the closes eyes up and down. But as soon as I did that every numb sensations vanished...
I did a reality check and then I looked at my watch, it was now 22.55. Then I fell asleep.

Me and my two friends were going somewhere, I dreamed that I got lucid and my dreamy me wanted to meet a girl. So I summoned a hot girl but she ran away and hide in a bus. It was a game. I went into the bus and my two frends looked desparately after me. I started to talk to the girl and she said "Your friends are not welcome here" and I asked "Why?" "Only people with high IQ can be here" she said. Then she asked me a question I had no idea to answer and I told her that I had no idea what she was talking about, and she laughed and waved her hand and..
I was teleported to a forrest.

I saw a lake with frogs in it, I was annoyed by them and I even fell into the lake once. Then when I was about to leave I saw ducks approaching me, but these weren't ordinary ducks, they were working. They all had a stick and I stood in their way and they quacked angrily at me.

Then I woke up and saw that the clock was now 2.00 so I had dreamt in one of the early rem stages.

Then I did a WILD attempt, I sang songs in my head that I could remember completely (Green Day - Time of your life and Muse - Time is running out) Somewhere I llost consciousnes and had a normal dream.

I dreamt that my friend wanted to see a hot girl from my new class, and I showed him a picture of a girl (but she doesn't even exist in real life). But in this dream I thought she did.

Then I had a test about traffic and cars.

2. Dream = Thoughts = Hypnagogic

by , 09-19-2011 at 08:15 AM (Choi's Journey of the Conscious Mind)
Lucid
Dream
Thoughts
Hypnagogic

I went to bed 10.30 pm.
This night I meditated for 1 hour and 30 minutes. In other words I didn't moved a muscle for 1 hour and 30 minutes!
I slept consciously for that long, although I never hit rem during that time. If someone else want to try this out the trick was to find a position that's hard to fall asleep in, but you still feel comfortable in it. I had 3 pillows behind my back and were in a sitting position like this figure will illustrate :) i__

I gave up eventually because I hadn't slept unconsciously so it was really exhausting although I felt rested. But it was tough to just entertain yourself with your thoughts. So I went up and looked at my clock and it was now 00.05! The first rem is supposed to come after 1 hour and 30 minutes, so I immediatelly switched to a more common sleeping posture and prepared myself to see the dream form infront of me. I thought about weird things, things I wouldn't even think about consciously, although this time it felt like I did. Here is what I thought:

I didn't physically saw it, but I sort of visualised it.

There is a witch telling me to mark locations on a map where she want's to send flowers. On one of the locations there was a rock, I lifted that rock and there was a gold coin under it. There were also some branches and I started to associate those with the game Rift so I collected them. Then I "woke" up.

I was perfectly aware of this happening, because it was me thinking it! This thought or hypnagogic wasn't vivid at all, but I still wrote it down as a dream to my notes.

I looked at the clock and it was now 00.48. I decided to fall asleep normally, but it was hard, but I did it eventually.

I was standing in a house with a lot of people dancing and drinking. This was a big party.
Some nerdy looking guys said to me "here drink this" and I grabbed a glas and he gave me a milkpackage.
I pured up some white milk into the glass, but when I looked back at the glass, the milk disapeares and was replaced with some dark brown liquid. I asked the nerds "What the h*ll happend?!" and they answered "it's vitamin B12 from appeljuice and milk concentrat. And for some reason I was fine with that and pured some water into it to mix it up and then I drank it.
This was undoubtley a dream, because it was vivid, but I never realised it...
I looked around me at the party and thought "OMG There is some really hot chicks here!" and the nerd said "Yeah.. I guess so". And I said come man you have to hit on some of these girls, and they said "No I can't do that I am to afraid".
In this dream I acted like the most smooth player in the world and I said "Nah I will teach you".
Look over there isn't she hot? Watch and learn.. Later on I ended up with 10 girls chasing me, because they had found out that I had "played" them. I think this dream ended when I got kicked by one of the girls in the face xD.

Although I woke up and thought, This was a dream! But the only difference between this dream and my thoughts and hypnagogic, is that it was vivid. I looked at the clock and saw that it was now morning 07.00 and I had to get up. Although I realise that Thoughts, Dreams and hypnagogic is the exact same thing, except everything that happens in the body during each of them.

Even though I also realised that the vivid dreams occur later in the night and meditatation the whole night is exhausting and not necessary, I now have the disciplin to do a WILD attempt over one hour! So next night I will do a WBTB and do a Traditional WILD.

Thought of the Day: =)

3. Closer Conscious Sleep!

by , 09-18-2011 at 11:17 AM (Choi's Journey of the Conscious Mind)
Lucid
Dream
Thoughts
Hypnagogic

I have been trying to stay aware from the moment that I go to sleep to the moment where I have to get up.
I know it is impossible, but if you don't have high goals, you will not get anywhere.
I had read about different meditation techniques and I learned that I am supposed to have a special posture.
So when I went to bed I sat in a lotus position haha. I started to repeat a mantra in my head to keep my mind awake.
I felt my body getting numbed and even some small vibrations, and this was a sign that I was getting completely relaxed.
Later on I got aware of how uncomfortable my body was and that I was boored, and I gave up.
I switched to a more comfortable sleeping posture and I fell asleep.

I had a scary dream (but not a nightmare) about a man with a gun telling me to kill his wife. I were in a strange house and his wife were in the basement and she didn't know I was there. The man gave me a knife and told me to koll her or he would kill me "and don't try anything tricky" he said. The dream felt real, but I never realised it was a dream. I went down and everything was going in slowmotion and I tried to figure out a way to escape. There was no other way out, but I went down and throw the knife on a sofa and did a schh-sign to the woman and made her understand that her husband was dangerous. I grabbed her hand and I told her to scream like she was getting stabbed. Then we ran as fast as we could upstairs and pushed the door open. The man stood right behind the door, so he fell and dropped his gun. We ran upstairs and for some weird reason the topfloor looked like my real house. (I have often had dreams about me climbing out from my house)
So in this dream I did just that. I opened the windows and stepped out on a small roof. We escaped...

I then woke up with a frightned feeling, but it wasn't a nightmare even if it was scary. Because I felt more like an adventure, a movie that you are involved in. But it still felt real. I then grabbed my Iphone and googled on "boored while meditating. And I read that booredoom is just a condition, something to aknowledge while having it, just be aware of it and it will go away. Just like any other thought. I thought "To make your mind believe that you have fall asleep, you have to lay completely still". I and thought "Why doesn't the paralyses Stephen Hawking lucid dream every night then? I thought about this while I was meditating and realised that it's all in the mind! Be aware of your thoughts and you will be aware when they become a dream. I then tried a weird MUSIC-WILD technique. Because if you only lay completely still and remain awake then you will be completely aware, pure awareness. So I put on some low volume music and lay completely still, but I thought the lyrics to each song in my head.

Suddenly I was standing in a Burger king restaurant with my friend. I heard the music in the background, but I didn't realised that I was dreaming. My friend told me to have his cellphone while he was getting food. Some men with a scary attitude watched me receive his cellphone, but then they ignored me. I then started to hear Muse - Starlight in my dream. And I thought "Ah.. I forgot to turn off Spotify on my iphone". Then my friend got back and I gave him his cellphone.

When I woke up I saw that the Muse - Starlight wasn't even in the playlist I had listened to! This was a weird realisation. I started to reflect over the fact that I did hear my music in the dream, although it was exhausted when I woke up because the music was annoying. But I remembered on what track I had fell asleep and on what track I woke up on.
So what if I set a mp3 file with my voice telling me stuff like "All that you see now is a dream, look at your hands! Whatever you might think now it doesn't matter just look at your hands!!" Would that make me lucid? It would work like a WILD-EILD.
I might try something like that someday.

Then I did a meditation attempt, and I lay there really long and I never gave up, the only thing that made me stop was that my parents called me up for breakfast. I did swallow alot of saliva from time to time, so that may be the reason to why no hypnagogic imagery appeared. But I googled on that too and the solutions was to let the tongue rest on the front teeth in the top of the mouth. It was either this or swallow a dozen of times. So I will try this tonight. But I will do a meditation session on the day too to test this technique out.

Edit: I just meditated aware for 20 minutes! I set an alarm and the first 5 minutes was hard, but then I felt my mind getting calm, hard to explain, but the important thing was that I NEVER felt the urge to swallow.
It felt like I had only been sitting there for 5 minutes, but I was aware the whole time.
I experienced the time as faster somehow. Conscious sleep here I come!

Ok it's day time now and I am going to meditate and I am going to try to do this for an hour now. I'll write my result when I am done.

I just got a new personal record (meditating for one hour) I was stupid and thought that I was in sleep paralysis, but as I allways have told myself, if you are in sleep paralysis you will notice it, because your body will either vibrate or you will clearly see images behind closed eyes. I am going to attempt to meditate the whole night this time, so I will tell you about that tomorrow.

4. Thank you FA!

Dream
Thoughts
Hypnagogic

Before bed I read about technique to keep your mind awake, but your body asleep.
And how to not fall asleep while meditating. One of the tips suggested that I was going to have a comfortable posture, but it should be a little uncomfortable to keep the mind awake. So I put two pillows behind my head, so I had a straight back, but my legs were still in their normal position. I concentrated on the blackspace and looked between my eyebrows and I started to think about normal things just to see if I could stay awake, and everytime I lost focus I didn't looked at that spot, so I just looked back again.

But somewhere I just blacked out. :)

This whole dream was weird, but cool at the same time. Because it tried to convince me over and over that I was awake, it eventually did, but I got lucid.

I woke up in my bed and heard weird noises, normally I would DEILD here. I really thought I was awake, but instead I did the noseplug reality check in my bed and it worked!
I was now laying lucid in my dreambed and I went to see my parents. Everytime I talked to my dad I was overwhelmed with feelings or something that tried to convince me that I was awake.
Then I went out of my house and I admired the vivdness of the dream. I thought to myself "This feels more real than the physical world!" and it did! The dream was vivid enough for the sensations, so I didn't had to stabilise that. But my mind wasn't stable enough so to speak. I can fix this with spinning, but I wasn't aware in my mind enough to do that. so somewhere here I was aware of that I was dreaming, but I wasn't aware through my conscious, but through my subconscious.[ so that makes it a normal dream again.

I was filled with joy and I didn't had to care about anything, I started to climb up to the rooftops and I ran. I tried to stabilise the dream by running in a straight line and it worked. The dream was super vivid. but then I woke up.

I was now in my real bed and I wrote this dream down, then I fell asleep again.

I was eating lunch with my friends and a girl there that my friend likes was there too. We tried to make him talk to her, but he was to shy. So we started to talk about random stuff, then for some reason we went into a store and we met some other guys, then I woke up.

WILD before bed is really hard I admit that. But I am trying to find the perfect way to keep your mind busy without falling asleep. I'll keep trying.
5. D*MN you FA!

Dream
Thoughts
Hypnagogic

This time when I went to WILD, I had an sleepmask on me and I had my eyes open behind it, so all I saw was darkness. I started to go through my day with eyes open, to relax myself. Then I pictured myself getting to a location and I felt my body "yawning" not like the sleep paralysis wave but my body was starting to become fully relaxed. And here I lost consciousnes... Although I woke up shortly after and I felt my nose was itching on the tip. I thought this was the test signal or something, but then I was overwhelmed with the feeling of failure. I kept still, but I thought that I had already failed, so I gave up.
But I hadn't moved my body, so I hadn't failed the failure was that I gave up. I then fell asleep normally.

I were in my school and some girls that I know asked me if I wanted to play soccer, and I said "Nah I have to go" and they inisisted "Come man it will be fun!" and I stayed. Then I suddenly blacked out and wake up in my bed, but there is three girls laying there! How the f*ck did I thought I was awake... it was an odd false awakening. and I went back to sleep.

I remembered more on the awakening, but I didn't write it down, so now I have forget what i dreamt.

6. The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy.

Hypnagogic

This time I also put on a sleep mask, don't know why it was just for fun. I started to think "Ok now I am going to think about my day, the first that happend was" ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Well I need to find a better methpd to prevent my mind from falling asleep. I think that any thought will do as long as it keeps my mind busy.

I were looking at a wall somewhere in my house. One guy and two girls were pointing at the wall and screaming "Oh my God it's a cockroach!". I looked at the wall and saw that it wasn't a cockroach, but a supersized wood-louse.
It was enormous, but I knew that they aren't dangerous, so I took a stick and made it fell down to the floor and it crawled up into a ball. I took a giant piece of paper (I have no idea where that come from) and I put the wood-louse on it and then I bringed it outside.

I were now standing on a green and I looked at my hands. I was now awared of that I was dreaming, I remembered to rub my hands and then I did the "butt-ground" stabilisation that I had done before. I was now a little more aware of the dream, but as usual... I didn't stabilised enough. and I lost myself in the dream I started to fly and heard police sirens and I started to think that this was the dream chasing me down, because they don't want me to be lucid. althoug I wasn't anymore.. But I still thought this way. I landed on the ground and started running, now I saw normal people walking down the street and I realised that every person here is a potential enemy and I have to watch out for people with guns, because if an agent takes over that body, I am screwed, I can't dodge bullets like Neo.

I now saw a man with a black suit and a earpiece. I started to run. I ran passed a police with a gun, and heard the sound of him morphing into an agen as I run. I then remembered I can fly away from them. So I jumped up into the air and heard the guns fire at me, but they missed. I flew into a house, some kind of never ending stairs were there. I saw my friend David and I told him that we have to run. So we ran up the stairs, and we started to feel the house rotating, so the stairs that we were running up from was we now falling down from, we had to decide every move and adapt to the house rotation. We heard an agent laugh outside the building.

Then I woke up, but I was aware of that I had woke up. So I tried to DEILD, but nothing happend..
It might have been an awakening, but I didn't reality check. From now on I am going to get out of bed on every awakening and reality check. Deild is nice, but I am going to see how man false awakening I really have, and not make them a false awakening anymore.

7. Falling Through the Universe.

by , 09-13-2011 at 03:14 PM (Choi's Journey of the Conscious Mind)
Lucid
Dream
Thoughts
Hypnagogic

This night I tried to WILD before normal sleep. I have heard that it is impossible, but I was thinking and thought, if we can
be aware of a dream, to be lucid in that sense. And still be able to rest, wouldn't it be possible to stay have the mind awake the whole night and let the body rest. This is called Yoga Nidra "Conscious sleep". I have allways told myself that a dream is just a thought, but a vivid thought and I have even seen my thoughts become a dream in a WBTB DEILD.
So if I can just stay aware until my thoughts, become vivid then it should be possible.
I considered the problem of staying awake long enough for that to happend, but I came up with an idea to keep my mind busy and to totally forget about my physical body.

I like visualization, and day dreaming in that sense. I thought that if a dream is a vivid thought, then a thought must still be the closest to a dream that I can come while being awake. So my method to keep my mind busy is to daydream, but not the nornal way. Usually when we day dream we think about something and associate it with something else and suddenly we think about anything and then we fall asleep.

I started out by going through memories of my day in my mind, as detailed as possible. When this was done I assumed that I was perfectly relaxed, my body felt numb and uncomfortable feelings started to appear. Now I pretended that I was going to separate from my physical body into my non-physical body, pretend that I WILD so to speak.

So I visualised that I went out of my bed and I chosed two objects in each room in my house to explore.
And when I come to the kitchen I started to lose consiousnes from time to time, but I returned to the visualisation.
Eventually I lost it completely and I had a dream.

I were in my school and this dream was boring, because it was just about a normal schoolday.
Then I was walking home from that schooldream and suddenly I realised that it was a dream.
I didn't stabilise I was not aware enough in my mind to do that for some reason, instead I looked around and were surprised that I remembered this much from the real world, because it was a real location.
I took pace and ran and jumped and started to fly, I have had many fly dreams now so I had enough confidence to control this flying. And this time I decided to fly to the universe! When I were up there and saw the starts and the empty black space I started to accelarate and it almost felt like falling. And I fell and fell and suddenly I was back in my bed.
I heard my mom screaming "Your dad is shopping clothes!". "In the middle of the night?!" I said surprised. "Yeah go back to sleep" she said. And when I did I woke up for real...

On my real awakening I did a reality check and I was now awake. I looked at the clock and it was now 4.40, so I went back to sleep.

I was now standing in my tv room and a person I don't really like was laying on the couch and eating popcorn, this was a weird dream and I don't really remember it.

Then I was walking into a Chinese store, I looked at a t-shirt and it was a cool background and a text saying "Zhore".
I then saw a bowl of red balls, I asked what it was and the person behind the disk said "Dragoneggs" and then I woke up.

I will make a new attempt to WILD today, but if I fail which I probably will I have an alarm to WBTB.

8. My First Dream Interpretation.

by , 09-12-2011 at 07:12 AM (Choi's Journey of the Conscious Mind)
Lucid
Dream
Thoughts
Hypnagogic

This time I woke up sometime in the middle of the night. I didn't wanted to move so I didn't watched the time.

My dreams have been so vivid nowadays, it almost feels like I am aware of my subconscious actions.
For example I would never ever think of killing a man, but I had a dream about stabbing a man with a knife, and I was aware of it. It feels like I experience another persons life. But I am aware of what I am doing, although I don't know it's a dream.
One simple reality check could solve everything... Anyway this dream I were on a bus and it seems like this was a schoolbus.
I see two hot girls smiling at me. They giggle, then one of them puts her hand on my lap! In the dream I welcomed that hand. But then the bus stopped and my dream personality changed and the environment changed. I stepped out of the bus and we were now on a beach. Two girls from my real school were there. I was only wearing underwear and was going to change to swimming shorts, but I was embarrassed to change infront of them. Then I just thought "Screw it" And I just changed.
Then I was going to impress everyone by jumping into the cold water frst. So I took pace and dived into the water.
In the water I had no control at all. The stram took me farther and farther away from the beach until I couldn't see it anymore.

Then I woke up. I believe in Sigmund Freuds theory that we dream about stuff that we are not allowed to think of in the real life. But even in the dream we are ashamed so it disguise itself with symbols.
If I was going to interpret this dream it's easy. The first dream I associate with sex...
The second I associate with a girl I like and how embarrassed I am when I am with her.
Anyway I am going to start affirming that I will do a reality check before I fall asleep and these vivid dreams might become a lucid one.

9. Rescue me! I am Khal Drogo!

Middlestate (I change this to hypnagogic, because that what it is)

This morning I woke up and remembered a dream, but I told myself let's test if I can skip to note this dream and still remember it.
I didn't... I went back to sleep and had this dream.

I were on a big balcony, that was made of stone. In some kind of caslte I think. Then the teenage king from Game of thrones "Lannister..." open the big door and sais something to me. I thought about this weird experience, although I wasn't lucid I was very aware of my body and choices. It almost felt like I was controling my movement, but I didn't know that I was dreaming. Weird state, because what is tricking me to believe that this was real? It was the same feeling you have when you watch a movie. You are somehow involved in it. Although this time I was controling my actions.
Then I hear someone climbng on the steep mounatin next to the balcony. I look down and see a whole group of soldiers.
"We are here to rescue you" they said. The one who was first grabbed my hand and all of them lose their grip and they formed a chain, like you see in movies when people almost fall down from a height. The guy below that person who held my hand held in his ankle and so on, you get the picture. When all were up they gave me climbing equipment and we climbed to the side of the castle and then down, to the grass. "Down with the king!" they yelled. Then they started to burn down houses in the village, and I shouted "Stop! What the hell are you doing?"

The dream transformed into the wild people from the same serie and I was now transformed into Khal Drogo!
I think I associated harrassing villages with that. Now I wanted to do backflips! I ran and did a backflip to impress everyone, but on the landing I bit my lip. Everybody was chocked, although I hadn't noticed it myself until I saw their eyes direction.
I got chocked, then I woke up. Cool dream thought

It felt like my dream was that vivid because I am used to the dreamy feeling. But it can just have been a coincidence, and it's weird that I didn't become lucid.

10. Closer to Clarity!

Dream
Thoughts
Middlestate

Last night I went to bed, feeling dizzy and terrible. I am ill. I still did the exercises for day 3 and 4 and then went to sleep.

I had a dream where I really had the urge to go to the bathroom. The whole dream consisted of me trying to find a toilet. When I finally did find one I stood there very long and let it flow. I understood that something was wrong, how can I pee for this long? And why doesn't the urge dissapear?!
I then got a terrible realisation, what if this was a dream and I wet myself for real, so embarassing.

Then I woke up and saw that, no I hadn't wet myself. But I still[ had the urge to go to the toilet.
So I went to the bathroom and then went back to sleep. I told myself that I will recognise that I am dreaming.

I was now standing at a theater, and I was a part of it. My role was to just say one line at a certain time. I saw my parents down in the audience... I don't remember why or how, but I went down under the scene and saw that someone had started a fire with fireworks, so the play had to be canceled.

The dream sceneary changed and the basement was now a part of my real house (I don't have a basement) and I went up to the kitchen and saw a hot violinist. I immediatelly thought about sex. But when I went out there to reach her, she transformed into a flower. I was discouraged. I then went to my livingroom and I looked at my hands.
I instantly became lucid. This time I was really focussed on how to stabilize this dream.
I looked at my hands and I touched my body, I rubbed my hands. And then I did something I have never tried before.
I jumped placed my feet infront of me, so when I landed I will hit my butt. On the landing everything become super clear.
I then leaned back, like the test you do to test trust, but this time no one was catching me and I fell straight down on my back. The spine felt weird and I bounced straight back up. The dream was now clear, but I forgot to spin so my mind wasn't clear...
I went out in the garden and flew, with surprising control. Then I saw my dad, I somehow become convinced that he was my real dreaming dad in my dream, so I did everything I could to make him realise that he was dreaming.
I shouted "Dad you are dreaming!" "Look at me you are in a dream", instead I lost my lucidity...

Then I woke up and wrote this dream down, I could have chained it but chances are that I wouldn't have remembered it then, so I didn't wanted to risk that. Instead I went to the bathroom again and then back to bed.
I now thought to myself "I can enter a dream without falling asleep, my thoughts wil be vivid enough"

I then had a dream about something that I can't remember, something matrix related though.
Then I see a hot girl and become lucid haha. But this time I didn't have the same control over my subconscious mind. I instantly thought about sex and lost my lucidity right away.

I then had a dream about me trying to kill a person from the Games of thrones series.
Khal Drogo, incredibly strong and fast. But somehow I managed to put a knife in his chest. Although I was chocked.

It feels like I am getting better at stabilize a dream, but today I am going to read about what more I need to do according to the most famous authors on the subject. Maybe it had been done if I had spinned too.

11. Tested The Spinning Technique!

by , 09-09-2011 at 06:34 AM (Choi's Journey of the Conscious Mind)
Lucid
Dream
Thoughts
Middlestate

Many of the people who are taking part in my school project have written to me and said that they somehow attained higher awareness of their dreams, by either experiencing their dreams differently or remembering more of their dreams.
I did the second part of my method "Opening The Minds Eye" I can't let my people skip ahead so I will not tell what I did.
Anyway I accidently noticed one of my awakenings during the night and fell back to sleep.

I had some dreams before this ,but I don't remember them anymore.

I had a dream about me standing outside of my house I looked at my hands, and become lucid. I was in the dizzy state that I hate, but this time I remembered that I wanted to try the spinning technique.
I started to spin and thought to myself "The next thing I will see is a dream, I am dreaming". In the middle of it all everything turned black and I got a little disapointed. But then I found myself standing there again and I did the spinning once more, and now I was fully aware of my thoughts, I was as aware as I am in the waking life. I could remember what I wanted to do and so on. So I started to feel the texture of a brick wall with my hands. but later on the dizzy feeling came back...
I was now laying in my bed, and I went to my computer to write down this dream, but when I started the computer, it shut itself off, like it sometimes do. But this time I got a message saying "There is a problem with your harddrive[ would you like to restore?" I clicked Yes "Then I had a terrible realisation. All my work about the Dream Project is on the computer and I only have one old backup, which means that I have to rewrite alot of stuff.
As you all might have guessed this was a False awakening nighmarish (not really I didn't felt that scared, just frustrated).
Then I woke up in my bed, although I could have chained this dream, I wasn't paying attention to that.

So the spinning technique is a way for me to get more conscious in that sense, that I can remember real thoughts and concerns in the dream. But after I have spinned I should stabilize it alot more, and if I wake up I do a reality check.

12. Conscious <3 Subconscious

Dream
Middlestate
Thoughts

Right now I am doing the exercises that I tell the people in my school project to do. And although I have already pracctised my awareness alot, it's still a good pracctise for. This evening before falling asleep I just looked at my hands nothing more. And I had some vivid dreams and even a short lucid dream.

I dreamt that I were in school and were listening to my history teacher. I normally like history, but this time I didn't undertstood anything she said. And she kept repeating that this was something that we should now by now.
She described different peoples life by drawing, weird lines and dots on the board. I raised my hand and told her that I didn't follow. But she only got angry and then she kicked me out, after I had a breakdown haha.

I was aware enough to realise that something was wrong, the school flelt different, everything felt different.
The dreamy feelingitself made me realise that I was dreaming. I looked at my hands and it stabilised a bit, although I forgot my old goal to use the spinning technique. Instead I foccused on the lockers and the surounding. And I saw that everything become more clear. I thought for a second (Why I don't know) "Who am I in love with?" Then I see her walking out of the library and I was not surprised to see who it was.
Unfortunately those feeling made me lose my lucidity, although this was the end of my 4 day dryspell :)

I am glad that both my conscious and subconscious agrees with something.

13. Thoughts or a Dream?!

by , 09-07-2011 at 06:42 AM (Choi's Journey of the Conscious Mind)
Lucid
Dream
Thoughts

Middlestate

This morning attempt made me realise that those terms are actually wrong. Atleast they are not clear enough.
I woke up to the alarm, but I was to awake to be able to fall asleep, although I still went into a subconscious focus, but this time I was in a more conscious focus than subconscious, but it was still a subconscious focus and therefore a dreamlike state.
This experience made me understand the different states better.

A Lucid dream is a state where I am in a fully subconscious focus, but where I let some of my conscious mind be a part of it.

A dream is a state where I only am in a subconscious focus, maybe 0.1 % of the conscious too, and thatäs why I remember the dreams as vivid or real.

Thoughts is actually the exact same thing, but here I am in a fully conscious state, the subconscious is still active although I am not aware of it.

But this morning I experienced something new. And none of these terms explains that, so I need a new word.
I woke up to the first alarm. Then I tried to go back to sleep, but I just couldn't. So I lay there through some of the alarms, then I gave up. I got out of bed did reality checks so I was sure that I was awake. Then I turned the alarm off.
Then I went back to bed trying to get back to sleep...

I thought about school and my homework, and suddenly I had a really vivid thought of standing there, but it was not a dream, because I was still aware of my body in bed and I could move it and so on. I even went up and wrote some notes about this experience and then I got back to the thinking state again. My thoughts were as vivid as a dream, but I was not in sleep paralysis and I was not asleep. I was in a more conscious state then a subconscious, but I was stil in a more subconscious state than when I am awake and in a less subconscious state than when I am dreaming. I find no words for it, but I guess I will call it a middlestate. Because it is something in between.

Hopeully I can fall asleep tomorrow and get a more subconscious focus, I think I will set my alarm earlier so I'm not to awake or conscious.

14. Couldn't wake up...

Dream
Thoughts

This time it went the other way around, usually the alarms wakes me up over and over again and then I wake up in sleep paralysis.
This time I woke up to the first alarm, I then had a false awakening. I looked at my hands, but they looked normal so I didn't become lucid. I don't know why I didn't do the noseplug. But anyway none of the alarms woke me up atleast I wasn't aware of it...

Hopefully I am the next night.

I do now remember although, that I woke up to some of the alarms, and then I was in sleep paralysis, then I visualised myself getting out of bed, but I must have been too tired to remain conscious and that's why I thought it was a False awakening.
Damn it!

I went to bad late on my previous attempt, so I adjusted the timer to wake me up 6 hours later. But last night I went to bed earlier and forgot to adjust the timer, so I slept for 8 hours. I still made an attempt with the alarms, but I couldn't fall back to sleep...
