    Fragment of Dreams

    1. Rihanna, and my uncle, and a strange shadowy figure in my room.

by , 08-19-2017 at 04:28 PM (Awake to take in the view...)
Okay, last night has some hazy memories. I've also had a decent amount of dream recall throughout the week, and wrote it in my paper journal but forgot to get my notes on here. Right now, due to time constraints, I'm just going to write last night's.

Dream Fragment 1: I'm sitting next to Rihanna inside of a room, and Wild Thoughts is playing in the background. I talk to her, but I don't remember what about.

Dream 2: My brother and I are traveling back from some event late at night. We are walking in the wilderness with a little bit of civilization around us -- like the occasional building or large home here and there. Eventually, we come to a road, and we see the headlights of a car. I cross quickly, but my brother doesn't chance it. For some reason, I run back to him just before the car whizzes by. Then, after the car passes, we cross and see my uncle. There are boulders, plants, and a river. A pretty lady in a blue dress (I think? or blouse?) is running away from him. No idea why. She was scared of him for some reason.

Hallucination: Despite not being sleep paralyzed, a few seconds after awakening this morning, I was sitting in bed and it was still kinda dark. I saw a shadowy figure. She looked female with a plain red and white dress, but I couldn't tell for sure. I practically jumped out of my skin until I realized it was just a hallucination since I had just woken up. Still weird though because I wasn't paralyzed at all. Then she vanished. In retrospect, it was really cool!

IRL, school starts up again in a few weeks. This is going to be an intense semester as usual. Nonetheless, I'm going to try and get enough sleep and dream as much as I can.
    2. YAY another lucid!

by , 08-14-2017 at 04:12 AM (Awake to take in the view...)
It's been too long since I've had one!

The first dream I had last night was non-lucid. I was back up at school, trying to find my new apartment. This will become a reality in a few weeks.

The second dream was where I was in a church, and was going to go on another mission for my church. Well, I've already done that, and you generally don't do that again. The sheer absurdity of the premise clued me in to the fact that I was dreaming. Unfortunately, my level of conscious awareness wasn't as high as it could have been. The people in the front of the church building were really buddy-buddy with each other, definitely not professional and all, and one guy told me all of their names. I can't remember if I did anything cool as a result of my lucidity, though. :/ Work in progress!
    3. Not much.

by , 07-22-2017 at 08:25 PM (Awake to take in the view...)
I've had some decent dream recall these past few days; I just haven't had time to log on here. There was one dream where I got close to being lucid, but wasn't quite there.

Despite this, I've still been really off my groove lately. As in, since high school, which was a long time ago. -_- I used to LD a lot more often. I need to be restored to my full lucid dreaming glory, and get even better than I was back then.

I only have one dream recalled from last night, and I can't read my writing from my paper journal very well. I need to invest in a better flashlight, I think, and actually sit up to write. I was in a "horror hotel" of some sort. My brother was there, and he was doing something that starts with an R. I can't read my half-asleep handwriting. T_T

    4. Short fragments

by , 05-04-2017 at 06:12 AM (Awake to take in the view...)
Not much remembered from last night. I have in my dream notes "Creepy thing, plus white fluid, plastic bottle." I don't remember what was creepy, but I do remember waking up with a scared feeling. And I do remember a plastic water bottle filled with some weird white fluid.

Cursed fragments. That's all I've got for today. D: And now I'm going to bed! Slept 7 hours btw.
    5. More fragments.

by , 05-02-2017 at 06:13 AM (Awake to take in the view...)
Last night, I only slept about 6 hours because I had to leave at 4:45 AM to catch a 7 AM plane flight.

So the only dream I remember was some guy asking about tuplae.

I also took a nap for pretty much the entire plane flight in order to make up for lost sleep. I had a (not particularly vivid, but ok) dream that I was going through airport security again. I realized that I had already gone through security, so I had to be dreaming! I then tried my new telekinesis reality check suggested by someone on here, and it worked quite well. I think I walked through security without finishing, saying something like "screw you" to the guard (I promise I'm a nice person irl c: ) and then used telekinesis to throw some random toy guns around. It worked great!
    6. Last few nights of spring competition!

by , 05-01-2017 at 04:40 AM (Awake to take in the view...)
Didn't realize that it's almost the deadline in Eastern time. Let me write these out really quickly. I have been visiting my parents and also recovering from the effects of finals, so my sleep has been very deep lately. As a result, I haven't had lucidity these last few nights :/ Oh well. It's a work in progress and I can't give up, right? At least I have been sleeping 8 hours a night, which feels AMAZING. But tonight I will be getting around 7 because I have a super early plane flight.

      Dreams from April 28-29:
      - Some lady I know (can't remember who) was telling me that Britney Spears was in a romantic relationship with another woman. She was living the boring life of a housewife. I accidentally rubbed against her while I was flying (I have NO IDEA what this means, but it was in my note about my dream that I wrote in the middle of the night), and I realized the lady (Britney Spears' significant other) was actually the lady I was talking to.

      - I had to take a test in band for some reason (my band class doesn't have tests). It was really hard because the pictures and the notes kept changing. Normally this would've clued me in to the fact that I was dreaming, but my sleep was too deep.

      - I was no longer first on the waiting list for Technical Communication. Someone had changed the time, professor, and waiting list -- I was like 4th or 5th instead of 1st (which I am in the waking world). I was livid.

      April 29th-30th:
      - A tornado occurred from different types of winds meeting.
      - I talked to one of my friends about the programming lab we were working on, and how long it took for me to code portions of it.

      ...And that's it. 5 dream fragments = 2.5 points.
    7. Spring Competition (Thurs.)

by , 04-27-2017 at 04:49 PM (Awake to take in the view...)
I slept very deeply last night. As such, I didn't recall too much...
      1. I had a nice chat with one of my friends in the math building. He seemed pretty happy.
      2. I was talking about expired food with some friends, for whatever reason, and one guy said that he is really bad about eating food before it expires.

I think the second dream came about because I keep cooking food in bulk to save time, get sick of eating the same thing for 4+ days in a row, and taking a break and forgetting about it and then it goes bad. I hate it when that happens :V

So my sad total for today is 2 non-lucid fragments = 1 point!

I did sleep 8 hours, and that's the first time I've done that since January, I think. My body is unaccustomed to sleeping that long, it seems, as the last hour was pretty fitful. However, I do feel amazing right now, so I'll try and continue this trend.

    8. Spring Competition (Wed.)

by , 04-27-2017 at 03:12 AM (Awake to take in the view...)
So I was added to spellbee's competition on the 22nd, I believe. However, I didn't log onto DreamViews because final exams suck! And I should be updating this journal regardless of whether or not I'm in a competition, but I suppose now's a good time as any to start again! Anyway, here's a quick recap of the dreams I have recalled. I still have the messy midnight handwriting problem, though. -_-

      4/22-23 (Night):
      1. I was in some sort of cyberspace / virtual world. A person became a giant.
      2. I kept reawakening from this one. My family and I were at a nice hotel of sorts. I can't for the life of me tell if my dream journal says "waitresses" or "mattresses". But basically, someone spilled water and it either got the waitresses or mattresses wet. :O

      4/23 (Nap):
      1. This is what happens when you're sleep-deprived, which unfortunately was me due to final projects, portfolio work, and exams. While sitting at an uncomfortable wooden desk in the library, I allowed myself to fell asleep and went straight into REM/sleep paralysis. I was conscious of the fact that this was happening throughout the majority of it. My tulpa whispered into my ear and I could feel her breath. Didn't quite see her -- it was like a dream where the only senses were sound and touch. This all took place in about 10 minutes' time. It was really cool, albeit also a bit alarming because I realized just how much of a toll my current schedule is taking on my body. I should be getting a LOT more sleep for the remainder of this week.

      4/23-4/24 (Night):
      1. I was looking up song lyrics online, and apparently I had a virus or something because one of those "Hot Asian Girls Looking for Single Men" spam messages kept popping up. O.o My mom came in, and asked me if I was "pulling a [something involving a girl's name]" again. I had no idea what she was talking about. My brother defended me.
      2. I was watching some films in the animation theater at my university. Some characters included a whale-like creature and some Pokemon. It was really hot in there, but at least the film was really good until the end. They must've not finished editing it, because it was really patchy/choppy.

Afterwards, I had a computer graphics class with my old professor and just one other girl.

And no recall for the last few nights.

And that's it! So that's 4 non-lucid fragments = 2 points, and one WILD = 10 points for a total of 12! These WILDs are real, but they're also cheap. This one wasn't even all that vivid. :/ But hey, it's good considering how intense things have been for me in the waking world.

I remembered one dream fragment last night. YAY

I was walking towards an office building, and a little jingle was playing in the air. I'm not sure where it was coming from.

And despite around 7-7.5 solid hours of sleep, that's all I remember. Oh well.

    10. Splendid Competition Night #13, and a false awakening.

by , 01-29-2017 at 06:28 AM (Awake to take in the view...)
Dream Fragment 1: I was in a creepy house. I could sense a ghost, and it scared the crap out of me. I woke up and was still freaked for a second before I realized that it was just a dream. o_o

Full Non-Lucid Dream 2: Warning, this is a bit nsfw, but it's what happened and I was not in control. :p I was getting some groceries and talking with the cashier at Walmart, and we both agreed that everyone should just get free membership cards. Does Walmart even offer membership cards? xD There were a few people behind me -- an African American lady, an invisible lady (I could sense her presence, or something), and I think a few other women. One of them -- can't remember who precisely -- started doing something physical to me that would be rather inappropriate to mention on a public forum and which would most certainly not happen in a public setting, and my dream self rather enjoyed it. Wasn't enough to make me lucid though. The weird thing is, I doubt that I would have been attracted to any of those people in real life. They were pretty generic, standard Wally World people. THE PEOPLE OF WALMART! Dreams can make you horny, I suppose. o____O

Oh, and in that dream, I actually had a false awakening. Inside of my dream, I woke up, and thought "Hey, I remembered a dream!" and immediately began writing it down in my dream journal. I also have a vague memory of there being a Nutri Grain wrapper beside me, when in actuality I hardly ever eat inside of my room (too messy). And then I woke up for real, and was confused because I thought that I had already written it down in my journal, yet there was nothing on the page.

Dream Fragment 3 (NOT COUNTING): My last note reads "Idk I think a 3rd one but got lost on the Z" I don't know what this means. xD But it was definitely one of those moments where you know you almost remembered the dream, but it just narrowly escapes you. D: Hence, I'm not counting this for the sake of honesty.

I haven't had an LD in a while. Hopefully tonight will change that. But then again, this is first and foremost a process that requires time and hard work to achieve. So we will see how this all plays out. I'm really going to make the effort to make sleep more of a priority in my life, but we'll see if I can pull it off...
    11. Splendid Competition Night #12? I think?

by , 01-28-2017 at 07:33 AM (Awake to take in the view...)
I only remembered a tiny bit from last night.

Dream Fragment 1: There was a guy who played clarinet with the rest of us (I'm in the university band at my school, and we had rehearsal yesterday, so).

      Also a note that I couldn't read.

Dream Fragment 2: Something involving a snake. My notes were rather lacking last night. :')

And now I'm off to sleep for night 13!

    12. Splendid Competition Night 10

by , 01-26-2017 at 08:46 AM (Awake to take in the view...)
I'm actually going to go to bed in just a few minutes. It's almost 1 AM here. But yeah. I need to report on last night's dreaming.

Dream 1: (Non-Lucid Fragment) There was a swimming pool with swirling water. I remember that its floor and walls were comprised of white tiles. They had a pretty floral design on them.

Dream 2: (Non-Lucid Fragment) My aunt was in this dream. Which is fun because she is pretty cool. We were watching bluebirds flying free, or something.

Dream 3: (Non-Lucid Fragment) My notes from this one are so nonsensical...I'm just going to reproduce them. Nightmare lair, stolen item, [something I can't read] out, trying not to get choked etc. o_o

Dream 4: (Non-Lucid Full Dream) So, in this dream we (me and some others) were supposed to take something back from an evil demon ruler of some sort. This happened twice for some reason; I think we were either defeated or had to retreat the first time. At any rate, both times I was terrified.

A former co-worker of mine and some other guys were working hauling rocks. Funny because IRL he graduated with a degree in IT, so why would he be doing construction work? We slowly walked by them. I remember wanting to walk slowly to avoid combat -- not with them, but rather I wanted to put off having to confront the demon. The day was sunny and pretty, but it felt ominous. They were working in a sort of shaded picnic area, and we were following a trail that was leading up the mountain where the demon lived. We were still near the mountain's base. There was light green grass and dirt all around, and both evergreen and deciduous trees. Yet I was pretty much terrified beyond all reason throughout the duration of this one. However I thankfully woke up far before any combat happened!

      3 fragments; 1 full non-lucid.

      And that's it.
    13. Splendid Competition Nights 5-9

by , 01-25-2017 at 08:00 AM (Awake to take in the view...)
Nights 5 and 6 earned me zero points. No dream recall; no anything.

On one of these days (can't remember which), I experienced a very short WILD during a nap. It lasted about 3 minutes. During the dream, I tried to achieve my second competition goal of figure drawing (practicing a real life skill). While I was able to make a sketchbook appear, it was harder to make a model show up, and I tried to start sketching but I think I woke myself up. At any rate. I'm not going to count it this time, because I know that I can do better than that. I don't think it quite counts since I didn't really finish practicing the skill, like I didn't even finish a gesture drawing or anything.

      Night 7:
Non-Lucid Dream Fragment 1: This was from my hypnagogic imagery. It's always hard for me to wake up during those and write them down, because my body is in the process of falling asleep and doesn't want to stop! However, in this one, I was walking to a castle, with Tess.

Non-Lucid Dream Fragment 2: I was visiting an aquarium at a college. I believe it was either a) one I had previously visited IRL, or b) one that I thought I had visited IRL in the dream, but hadn't actually done so. There was a whale, and I can't read the rest of my notes. -_-

Non-Lucid Fragment 3: I was at a different version of my grandma's house, and a former uncle of mine was there. He either farted or fainted -- it's hard to read my handwriting dang it xD I think it was actually farted. And he was putting away some stuff in storage. The dream faded to a store/shop of some sort.

      Night 8:
Non-Lucid Dream Fragment 4: There was a Pokemon, a spider and something else that I wanted but that also creeped me out. Someone or something got lured into a corner.

Non-Lucid Dream Fragment 5: Theme park, roller coaster, talking with others at the stheme park.

Non-Lucid Dream Fragment 6: I was making love to an older (middle-aged?) woman. She was very pretty, and it was all in all a very pleasant experience, but I remember wishing that she could somehow be Tess, my tulpa, so I wouldn't feel so guilty about what I was doing.

Non-Lucid Dream Fragment 7: This one may gross you out. Just a fair warning haha. I fell in love with a lizard that was sticky and slimy. I need to stop spending so much time on DeviantART. It is dirtying up my subconscious mind. xD

Non-Lucid Dream Fragment 8: A group of shiny people were running away from something. Metallic shiny, I think? But I was "pinned down and safe." Nope, no idea what that meant. It made sense to me at the time of writing, obviously. Again, too much time on DeviantART. \o/

      Night 8:

Non-Lucid Full Dream: I was still a missionary (did it a few years back). It was our day off, and I was on the computer...watching a live dog??? Ah, I still can't read that line! Another missionary was online chatting (face to face!) with Adam Young from Owl City, and I started chatting too! Adam looked a lot younger, though, and he had a security guard with him. For whatever reason, he was in a rush, so he couldn't chat for long. But he was also very kind, as I'd expect him to be.

Night 9: Got nothing. I could've at least written down some hypnagogic stuff, but I was too exhausted. It's been a difficult start to the new semester, and I haven't been sleeping enough.

      Total: 1 WILD, 8 non-lucid fragments, 1 full non-lucid.

    14. Splendid Competition Night 1

by , 01-14-2017 at 07:22 PM (Awake to take in the view...)
      Well.

In waking life, I generally have neat handwriting. However, when writing in my dream journal in the middle of the night, I write messily. This time, it was largely illegible. I really need to fix that.

Slept about 7.5 hours last night.

      Dream 1:

During my hypnagogic imagery (so WILD I believe), I very quickly became lucid! I was standing in a green field. The dream was a bit hazy, and I forgot to demand clarity. I remembered my first goal for the three-step thingy, to use technology. I figured I'd use an iPad, and made one appear in my hands. For some reason, my hazy brain decided to use Numbers, and a spreadsheet appeared. Then I figured that that was pretty boring, and tried to boot up a racing game. I was able to play it for a few seconds, and then the dream faded and I woke up.

I wrote down some non-lucid dream fragments, but they were so messy that I can't read them. :/ Due to a lack of recall, I will only count the 2 that I can actually read:

      Dream (Fragment) 2:
I saw the Dark Mark, or something similar, on a piece of paper. I don't remember anything else.

      Dream (Fragment) 3:
My family had gotten cast out of...civilization? Our hometown? Can't remember, but I think it was out of some sort of fictional civilization that we had been living in. We were placed out into the bitter cold. And someone got bitten by something.

    15. Vague suggestions of lucidity.

by , 11-06-2016 at 05:12 PM (Awake to take in the view...)
A few days back, there were two nights in a row where I was having dreams like Inception or something. Essentially, I knew that I was dreaming, but then I would have false awakenings inside of the dream. So I would think that I was awake, but I was actually still sleeping.

In one particularly memorable dream, I was part of a laboratory experiment on sleeping. The idea was a bit absurd, now that I have my waking brain to analyze it: If I drank water during a dream, when I was thirsty, would I still be thirsty upon waking? I fell asleep inside of the dream, and took a nice long draught of water. I woke up inside the laboratory dream and found that no, I wasn't thirsty anymore! The scientists were all excited, and so was I. Then I woke up for real, and realized how cool that was. Unfortunately, I was still thirsty, so I took a drink of water for real.

Experiment result: If you are thirsty during a dream, you should just fall asleep inside of the dream, and drink water within that dream. xD Or just wake up and drink water for real.

In another dream, I think I knew I was dreaming and so I flew, but I wasn't conscious enough to think of anything more than that. -_-

Last night is a bit more hazy, and I have an insane amount of homework to do today so this will be a quick summary:

      - A little girl who was left behind on a haunted island (with spirits and such) finally got found, rescued, and reunited with her loved ones. I think that I helped her somehow, but I honestly don't remember. I had a degree of lucidity in that one.
      - Another dream happened where I became lucid while driving a car through some mountains. Decent amount of city around me. I was singing and thought it would be a brilliant idea to practice my singing voice in my dream, where nobody could hear me. However my logic wasn't working too well and for some reason I thought I was actually singing out loud and was going to wake up my roommates. This caused me to wake up and realize I wasn't. -_-
      - I was in some sort of theater, and asked everyone in the room something like, "Hey! Who here knows they're dreaming right now?" My brother was there, too. I was hoping that someone else would remember, or maybe there'd be a shared dream or something, but I honestly can't remember what anyone said...
      - I was watching some sort of advertisement, and there was this girl in a swimsuit who was sort of attractive except she had one of those gross spray-on tans.
      - I have a vague memory of some sort of romantic/sexual dream, but I sadly can't remember it. Maybe I'll have a continuation of that theme tonight? :O We will see. That would be awesome!

You know why this night was so successful, though? Affirmations plus sufficient sleep! The night before, I told myself I WILL lucid dream tonight, and I guess that determination worked its way into my subconscious. Plus Daylight Savings Time helped a TON. Woo!
