Nephanim's Dreams
The past couple of days have been really busy for me, so I'm a bit drained. My recall and the disorderly content of my dreams seem to reflect that.
A Suggestion to Make
I logged onto WMBRO briefly to see who was online. I started saying things in public chat for no particular reason, but I accidentally sent something to main chat without typing it.
“I have a suggestion to make,” I said. I thought about addressing the error and informing anyone that was online what had happened, but I didn’t feel like it. I just let the one person who noticed this wonder what I meant.
Slowness
“Nephanim.” I stirred in the darkness momentarily, but my thoughts were swimming. I couldn’t put the effort together to think in a focused manner.
“Nephanim.” Everything was hazy – dark, distant, and hazy. I reached out into the nothingness and felt my arm bend in several directions. I couldn’t remember how I’d gotten there or why this voice was calling out to me.
“Nephanim,” it repeated. I collapsed into a ball, and then my body condensed into an orb of light. It became slightly easier to work against the resistance in my thoughts. Gradually, I understood that it was Symphony speaking to me. I sent back a wordless ping. “Hello,” she said. “Are you ill?”
“No…” I murmured telepathically. The dark environment was still too hazy to appreciate. I caught glimpses of Symphony’s blue hair here and there, but they didn’t seem to form together cohesively. I started to feel sick to my stomach.
“You are different today,” Symphony said, pushing part of her existence onto mine. With the collision of her essence with my light body, I became truly aware of the slowness of my thinking. Her thoughts raced through me like hail while mine attempted a snail’s crawl and fell short. I thought to reply, but I couldn’t come up with anything.
“I’m fine,” I replied. Symphony withdrew in silence. After a time, I heard her bells jingle – but they sounded heavy, and the tone was distorted as though through water. I sent another ping to her system.
“I will return another time…” she answered me quietly. I felt her existence evaporate, leaving me alone in the empty, blurry world.
