    Meeting Nomad after the Ceremony

I was at some kind of school ceremony. The school was modeled after Piedmont Middle School. We all gathered in the gym, but I never found out what the ceremony was for. Someone invited me and Nicole to watch anime with him after the ceremony, but I explained that we were going to leave immediately after to meet up with Nomad. He was only going to be in town for a short period of time, so we didn’t want to risk missing him. The ceremony ended at 10:15 PM, and I drove for about an hour before switching off with Nicole. Nomad sent me a picture of the exit where he’d just gotten off. It wasn’t much further.

Train Collision and Trapped in Another World

I was half-asleep in the back of a car. Nicole was trying to sleep beside me. Her parents took the front seats, but they didn’t look at all familiar. Her dad looked several years older – perhaps in his seventies. I watched the road as he took us home. He came to a set of train tracks, looked both ways, and turned onto the tracks. Although I was a little confused, I decided he wouldn’t do this unless it was safe. We drove on the ground for a while, but then the tracks were elevated with no means for us to escape if we saw a train. Nicole saw this and gave up on trying to sleep; she was too terrified of dying in a horrible crash. I reminded her that it was late at night, so the trains weren’t likely to be running. Then again, I didn’t know this train’s schedule very well…

We drove for a few more minutes before I spotted it on the horizon: the blinding light of an oncoming train. Phil didn’t see it at first. By the time he noticed, there was a second set of tracks beside the first. I urgently warned him to move to the other set of tracks. He did as instructed, but within seconds, another train appeared beyond the first. Regardless of which set of tracks we chose, we were going to get hit. He switched the gear into reverse and slammed his foot on the accelerator. We picked up speed, but it wasn’t enough. To say the train was catching up would be misleading. Rather, we never had any chance of escaping it. The front of the train slammed into the car, and everything went black.

My next memory involved sitting in a white room by myself. As I looked around, everything was fuzzy and distorted. I sensed that I had been given some kind of medicine. Looking over my body, I couldn’t find any serious injuries… I was glad to be alive. My heart nearly stopped when I didn’t see Nicole in the room. I tried to open the only door in the room, but it was locked from the other side. There was a one-way glass window in the room, too, so I started banging on that… Eventually, a nurse came to speak with me. She wouldn’t answer my questions about Nicole or her parents. Actually, I got a strange impression that I had been in this place for a long, long time. It was a sort of asylum.

I set up a trap for the nurse after she left. The next time she entered, I would be able to keep the door open so it wouldn’t lock. I knew she wouldn’t notice the tiny metal clip in the door frame, either. I waited patiently until she returned to check up on me. I barely heard anything she said to me. My mind was elsewhere, and the medicine made it difficult to concentrate on her speech. The nurse left again, but as expected, the door was propped open just slightly. I crept out of the room.

Walking around the facility, I couldn’t find anything like an exit… I supposed it was hidden. I encountered an old man and suddenly recognized him. Without thinking, I began reciting something he once told me in another world, in another language. He grinned broadly and put his hands in the air.

“You remember, too?” he laughed. “They said I was crazy, but you remember, too!” The nurse came up behind me and jabbed my arm with a tranquilizer injection. As I dropped backward against her, my mind reeled. They thought I was crazy, but I wasn’t. I really had come from another world.

Storytelling, Hand-Painted Figurines, and Sword Fighting

I was at a flea market with Nicole, Tyler, and Kelsey. We stopped by a rotating cement booth that Kelsey said was becoming popular. She explained that the guy running it was a world-famous comedic storyteller. His art was also pretty good, she noted. Nicole and I decided to listen to one of his stories. As we sat down inside the booth, the walls began to spin. At a certain speed, images appeared all around us in a circle. He had painted his idealized version of Ariel. The painting clearly emphasized her chest and neck (for some reason, it was really long). I didn’t think much of his art… I was even less impressed by his stories. I supposed there had to be a reason why they were popular, but it didn’t connect with me.

After the story, we agreed to visit his house to see the figurines he was selling. The house was just a little wooden shack by a pond. It looked like it might sink into the pond at any moment. The guy showed us all these characters he’d whittled and painted himself. I noticed that he even had chao figurines (Sonic), but they were priced at $10 even though they were half an inch tall. I only briefly considered getting one for Chelsea for her birthday. When Nicole told me she was done, we left.

She had me try on a princess dress for her… I kept refusing, but she made threats to get me to cooperate. In the end, I decided it didn’t matter. I wouldn’t have to walk around in it. As long as she just put it on me and took it off, everything would be fine. I got tangled in some kind of semispherical dream catcher while wearing the pink princess dress, and it took me a few minutes to get my arms out of the web. Afterward, I took off the dress without consulting Nicole and started wandering around…

Kelsey and I had a sword fight with long sticks. When I bored of this, I asked her to stop, but she kept swinging at me. I grabbed a second stick and quickly overpowered her. She surrendered. Kelsey and I met up with the others at the food court in the middle of the flea market.

    Richard Writes the Flintstones

I stood outside a small shop where Richard Rahl had decided to sell published plays. After retiring from his position as the ruler of the D’Haran Empire, he decided to become a playwright. The four plays he authored were good enough to draw customers from all over the New World. In his public renditions of these plays, he cast leading members of the military for all of the key roles. Everyone seemed to be particularly interested in one play which had yet to be performed for an audience: “The Flintstones.” It was about a man in ancient times in another world… I wondered if he realized he’d stolen the idea from our world.

    Nomad Tries to Contact Me

I had a false awakening. I saw that I had written out seven dreams, most of which involved meeting Nomad in some form. It seemed too prevalent to be a coincidence, so I asked him about it. He explained that he had been trying to contact me all night.

    Strange Behavior in the Tub

I was in a bath tub that was rapidly filling with hot water. For some reason, I decided it was okay to take a dump in the water. I suspended myself over the tub and did just that, but I caught it in a wad of toilet paper to flush down the toilet. It soon became clear that this wasn’t working out, so I turned the water off and climbed onto the toilet, still dripping wet and wearing most of my clothes.

    Mayuri in the Mail

My parents received a package in the mail for Nicole. I assumed it was her Mayuri figurine that I ordered yesterday, but when she opened it, we discovered that it was actually a book on lucid dreaming. Nicole was disappointed; she had been eagerly awaiting her figurine. I talked to my parents and learned that they had actually gotten that package the day before. When they checked the mail, there was a notice from the post office that said another package had come for Nicole. We would have to go pick it up. I told Nicole about this, and she became incredibly excited. What else could it be but her figurine?
