We have an anime/manga thread? Anyway... Best Anime: Gosick - A mystery story set in Europe. I really like the art and the characters, even though Victorique was a bit of a brat in the beginning. Shinryaku! Ika Musume (aka Squid Girl) - Squid girl is... Well... Just watch it. It's crazy and fun, and episodic so you can watch it at a leisurely pace (or in a whole day if you're like me ). I also liked Katekyo Hitman Reborn!, one of my very first anime series'. Gintama is hilarious, but I've only seen like 10 episodes of it. Best Manga: Fairy Tail - The name is misleading, it's not like that at all. Really intense fighting scenes and awesome characters. Rave Master - written by the same guy who writes Fairy Tail. Very VERY cliched action/adventure manga. Main character meets girl, uses sword, saves the world from evil. You know how it goes. Still a great read though. Is anyone watching any new fall anime? I'm watching Guilty Crown, Un-Go and Squid Girl season 2.

Apart from these I'll likely watch: Fate/Zero Shakugan no Shana 3 Mirai Nikki (already finished the manga) C3 (maybe, maybe not: depends on the ratings and reviews)

I've been meaning to watch the first two seasons of Shakugan no Shana. Was it good? I personally enjoyed the story, there are some things I didn't like but it was worth watching it. Giving it a chance shouldn't hurt.

Eureka Seven: Reason? I enjoy the anime because it has a good story to it, the emotions and the fighting scenes in the anime is great. It has certain points to the point where it will make you feel like you need to start crying. And the atmosphere feeling to it is fantastic and it has great art work. Naruto: One of the best animes out there of all time. Has great work into it and I enjoy the Naruto vs Sasuke scenes. And Sasuke is my favorite character. .Hack//SIGN Series: This anime series is one of the other animes I do enjoy watching. It is a based MMO anime and manga. The series is great, The art work is amazing, And the OST's in the anime are really good. Especially in .Hack//SIGN. Yuki Kajiura is a great musician. I highly recomened watching this if you haven't yet.

Attack on Titan: There's anime and there's Attack on Titan. It's just epic in every way. I love the characters, music and the story and obviously the animation is pure eyecandy. Eren and Mikasa are a little cliche but I don't care about it that much tbh. Armin's easily my favorite character. Clannad: The first season is not as good as the second, but I still like it. But I LOVE the second season. It hits in the feels and that's what I want from an anime. The love story of Nagisa and Tomoya is so great. The second season also shows how live actually continues after high school and that's a good thing in the sea of all the high school animes. Your Lie in April: This anime is just so good in every way. I love the story, characters, music... I love Kousei's story. The ending's so sad in a good way. It's just epic. Edit/// I also want to say that the movie A Silent Voice is a recent favorite too! It's soo great but I didn't count it to the list as it's a movie. Your Name is good too.

I like anime with a good story but also some awesome shit like demon tournaments (bleach, yuyu-hakashu), assassins&samurai (kenshin, champloo), robots (android kikaider, ghost in the shell), space opera (bebop, outlaw star), giant robots (evangelion, gundam, big o, eureka 7), and post civilization (trigun, wolf's rain) No one is more into story than me but I like the story to come with some war too, so that it tests the principles that matter in life and death situations. I like mononoke and nausicaa 100 times better than tortoro, for instance, not that tortoro isn't neat

There's really nowhere else to put this, but just now i was watching an episode of drrr! and there was a commercial for something called Battlefield 3... I saw the name Dutch and pressed play thinking i'd hear the voice of Dutch in Black Lagoon, but instead heard the voice of Jet from Bebop! So close, but no cigar.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: Outstanding anime. Good storyline, good characters, amazing soundtrack. And I'm not afraid to say that the laughter gets me excited. Draws you in to the extreme. Great over-the-top comedy AND insanely heavy on the horror genre, and yet... it all works out. Need I say more? Lucky Star: Dawww. A show literally about nothing, and yet everything, and almost depressingly accurate at times. Plus, comedic references abound. Like Seinfeld on crack, and addictive as it to boot. Part of me wishes it didn't just end so suddenly (plot-wise), but then, that's part of the beauty of it, isn't it? Angel Beats!: There are a lot of animes I'd love to put in my top three, but I think I'm going to have to stick Angel Beats! here for now. An absolutely wonderful show, it renewed my faith in anime after feeling like we'd passed the peak of the whole medium. Short and sweet, something anime does better than anything else, and yet so much story.... Truly something worth watching, I nearly died at the ending. P.S.

I just noticed that Yumekui Merry is missing in this thread. The anime is pretty bad compared to the manga though. It's a story which is for a big part about dreams as the name suggests (Yume=Dream). In case you haven't heard of it I would strongly recommend the manga, and If you watch the anime, don't expect it to be as good as the manga.

I love that the chapters are called REM.

Oooh, it's been a while since I was into this whole anime thing. Except one I'm watching lately ^.^ Fuck the 3-only rules! Favorites incoming! Lucky Star Randomness, humor and awesome characters. Death Note Must watch drama thing, it's just good. Elfen Lied Must watch drama thing, this one is good too, although this one is more emotional, whereas Death Note is just awesome. Gunslinger Girl Bad art style in my opinion, but it's really touching and awesome considering it's weird premise. Ichigo Mashimaro Sort of like Lucky Star but a little more 'crazy' in a way and it's more cute :3 Rozen Maiden I don't know exactly with this one, but it's colorful and dramatic and it's Rozen Maiden. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Has an awesome art style and is over the top as fuck which just makes it the coolest shit ever. And the one I'm watching now is a pure comedy goldmine. Nichijou. It's over the top. All the time.

Some of my favourites what I remember now are: One Piece - similar to bleach and naruto, but without massive tardy fillers and forced jokes Air Gear - awesome overall, but damn... it just ended so fast... (manga continues from there, but goes omgwtfhax uber too fast) Hellsing - smth different and not so kiddy Death Note - pretty much as above Gantz - imho more hardcore than Hellsing, again anime ends fast, but manga continues... goes fast omgwtfbbq Full Metal Alchemist - just plain awesome. Some unknown mangas I liked are: Parasyte Akumetsu Until Death Do Us Part (not a love story) Wolf Guy - again, really hardcore, 18+

Is anyone else reading Higanbana no Saku Yoru ni? The next series in line by Ryukishi07. :3 (Of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Umineko no Naku Koro ni.) I just got through the first story (the first eight chapters), it seems like it's got potential so far. I need to find more scanlations!
