Thread: The strangest creature you have ever dreamt up?

The other night I dreamed I was in a tiny little dugout canoe floating in a giant lake. All around the lake there were these giant creatures moving around on top of the water. They looked like walruses with tortoise shells and they were about the size of tractor trailers. They could move at the speed of a motor boat and they were rushing at me and trying to capsize my canoe.

I once was attacked by a dragon shaped like a cloud... not sure if it counts as a weird looking dragon, or an evil cloud.

Now that I think about it, the way it attacked was blasting me with pressure to the bottom of a lake and holding me there.

So it was an evil cloud, I guess I've never had a strange creature (in terms of looks) in my dreams.

I've never seen any "strange" looking creatures in my dreams, last night I did dream of a massive flaming-lava-serpent thing, and some white tigers that ripped my arm off, but they didn't look too strange.

Well, "strange" is probably a matter of definition. That camel-crocodile didn't seem weird at all while I was dreaming about it. I was even searching for it and was extremely excited that I had found one when it suddenly appeared and snatched my DC-friend into the water and drowned him.

Massive flaming-lava-serpent-thing seems strange enough to me, and certainly scary enough.

A giant, pure black monster was outside in the sun. It wasn't dangerous outside and I think it wanted me for something. It would chase me when I ran for the garage. I had to lure it over and close the garage door on it's arm. Eventually, I got it and saw it's pure black claw thrashing all over the garage but realized that I no longer had my fireballs. Darn!

However, I think the most frightening/strange things I've seen in dreams were the dead, rotting things. They jolt me out of my slumber every time!

when I was little, I had a dream, it was night time and I was outside by my horse stalls. I looked out into the field behind our horse stalls and I saw dozens of all the horror movie monsters! It freaked me out! but for some reason I wasn't that scared, even though they were all coming slowly my way...

and another one where there was some monster, like a dinosaur, four legs, hideous! and I was running around my trampoline and shed that's right next to it,(to keep the shed and trampoline between me and it) and it was kinda creepy...
I know there's a whole lot more, but I can't remember any right now...

A woman with a gigantic neck and huge legs that spanned upwards of miles. I got up close to her face and saw every color imaginable swirling inside, like a vortex.

A twelve foot Golem made of quartz crystals with blade like crystal shards that could chop mature trees in one swipe with ease.

I have seen my own face in a dream mirror a few times.

When I was a child I had a recurring dream that would happen on the same night every year that involved a wolf. He was large, made of some black substance that shone like a polished gem. All the surfaces were angular, there was nothing smooth about him. His eyes were of a similar substance, yet lime green and shaped like a kite laid on it's side. What was strangest was his behavior - he stood there in front of me as if he were terrified or apprehensive, and at the same time infinitely more knowledgeable than I, as if he was trying to impart some great wisdom to me but didn't know how.

Last night I dreamt of myself, along with an army, slaying demons of all distorted shapes and sizes. The weirdest one of all was the "leader." It was like a shapeless shadow or a dark cloud with a big infected-looking eye in the middle (that sometimes appeared to be two separate eyes if you looked away and looked back), had gnashing teeth for an eyelid, and decomposing snakes that would slither across it's eye every once in a while. It wasn't scary, just odd.

Once we killed all the demons and it tried retreating, I kept flicking water in it's face eye for some reason.

A few weeks ago I had a non-lucid dream where I was swimming through a massive underwater cave-like chamber. All of a sudden I saw a huge whale... only it was colored with the black and white stripes of a zebra. I was kinda freaked out at first, but now that I look back on it, it was a very interesting creature.

A deer with the head of a lion and the size of an elephant, plus the mass of a bear if that makes sense.
Come to think of it it looked nothing like a deer at all but that was my conception of it. XP

Not so strange, but the most recent I can recall: the "Alagoon" from a poem in a dream-magazine. "I asked a boon from the Alagoon" states the first line (and only line I can remember).

It's a sheep that walks on two very tall legs through the ocean.

A giant pink blob with a tree growing out of its head with arms with penises as fingers he grabed me and his penis fingers jizzed all over me. I busted out of his grasp and summoned a sword and cut off his penis fingers. He cryed in pain then roared at me. I shot an explosive arrow from my bow into his mouth and he exploded.

i had a dream where i was the main character of a final fantasy game....

the creatures were SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK!!!!

I always used to have a dream about Goat's with cheese for their hooves.... It was nasty I don't like goats... lol

I once dreamed of a creature that had a body similar to a turtle, except its head was kind of shaped like a cat with ears and teeth and it was also furry, spotted like a jaguar, and had porcupine like quills on its back and tail.

Damn you guys are lucky xD I can't remember the last time I've seen anything exceptionally funky in my dreams. If I had I'd be drawing that shit right now.

It sucks though, my dreams are so boring xD

i had tons of creature dreams.... best of all i dont remeber them but i remeber one. It was like a beam big gray had like 18 hands 4 big other was small all around his body even on legs i dont exactly remeber its face but it was scary as hell i remeber its mouth had a tongue as head which opened his mouth and had another head which had another had and so on and so on and it chased me all around the empty city it was scary...

Probably a shoggoth from the cthulhu mythos.

I am not really familiar with the cthulhu mythos. Not sure if I meant a shoggoth. Just a similar creature. But from what I understand from the actual mythos, a shoggoth is supposed to be something similar to that or just a blob of fleshy mass with tentacles coming out.
