      Lightbulb Calling all Pros!

I was wondering, simply, if any of you "pro" dreamers have ever tried to sit down and
meditate while lucid. I feel like this would be quite the accomplishment not just for
dreamers, but for man kind. I mean the idea is quite impressive if achieved. Think about
it, meditating inside your own head in your own world, while sleeping! lol
Anyhow, i hope to hear stories of what happens, or even if this is possible.
      Thanks pals! <3

There was a thread awhile back (I can't find it) where a guy would sit at stare at a clock. He would then be able to have days and days of a lucid dream.

And I think if you did meditate, you would probably have a pretty long lucid dream because you just sitting down and relaxing.

Ah, there was a thread about this once. But really, it isn't all that great, then again I'm not a spiritual person, so yeah <.<

Oh it is certainly possible. I haven't sat down and meditated, but I have sat down in a lucid, smoked a blunt and just observed my dream the entire time. It was a very relaxing and an awesome experience. It is always good to, every now and then, take a lucid dream and just relax in it.

I tried this once but I lost lucidity.
157 is a prime number. The next prime is 163 and the previous prime is 151, which with 157 form a sexy prime triplet. Taking the arithmetic mean of those primes yields 157, thus it is a balanced prime.

I tried it once. Everything got really slow and enhanced. It was like being high.
      It's all in your head.

I did it after becoming Lucid in a falling elevator. I sat crossed legged on the floor, with my back to the wall. I relaxed with no fear of the elevator hitting the ground. The walls of the elevator became transparent like I was in a glass box. And instead of falling down a shaft, things switched to flying across a landscape.

haha sounds great guys, i can't wait till i get to try it out myself. I'd imagine something pretty crazy would happen if successful,
maybe even partial enlightenment! lol i doubt it, but still good to hear it's easy and relaxing while sitting down in a lucid.
I would still like to hear from a pro who's tried it out and not woken up.

Thanks for the replies and good luck testing!

      But the problem is.. ..
You can't think of anything while meditating (thats what its all abt)
While to have lucid dreams you need to think.
      Isn't that right?

You don't really need to think while in a LD, I have meditated a few times, but as I said before, it wasn't all that great to me.

this is actually my only real LD goal. everyone else wants to fly, turn into a dragon, or some other crap. meditation would be amazing.

try looking up dream yoga. high yogi's and buddhists thought that sleeping and dreaming were a waste of time and meditated even in "sleep" or instead of sleeping. i have meditated for about 5 hours at night instead of sleeping, fell asleep later and "woke up" outside my body. it was really scary. but then i slept for maybe an hour or two and felt AMAZING the next day. like i had some of the best sleep in MY LIFE. so i would say it is definitely definitely worth a shot.

But if you don't think in LD, then what will you be doing inside? Don't you need to decide like real life does in dreams situation?
When some1 in yr dream needs help?

Not really, since you are in control, it isn't that hard to put yourself on empti space, close eyes and stop focusing on everything else. I guess it is easier in a dream even, since I can't meditate in waking lol
And if someone needs help, just teleportation should suffice.

I remember a post about this long ago but can't find it now. It's an interesting idea and people have mixed views on what happens but most say as evidenced above that it causes prolongation.

Well, I believe that in dreams..there's still this kinda Order around.
You can't have everything going our way, if your mind and normal life is normal thats it.
The destination of my dreams, normally, takes place on an earthly like place.
I can do teleportation all that, but there's a limit.
I can't have me teleport all the way to the root of problems, it only brings me to the branches.
Which means i have to find my way in. Which is tiring. Thats the way life is infact.
Your mind can't be absurb such that everything goes your way doesn't it?

I'd assume it would. Not because one focuses on the dream itself, but because if one were to meditate then I'd assume he or she would experience the "fullness" of what the dream has to offer.

Thanks for the advice, I'll look into it. Also i feel like we're on the same page when it comes to LDs. I've never been interested in the mediocre stuff, i've always been intrigued by how the dream itself works. This leads me to jump straight into meditation or "miniaturization" when i LD. I like to "miniaturize" because i feel like it'll point me to the "source" of the "dream fabric". I know it's all in your mind, but i love to assume it's possible to see with with your own eyes what makes the dream "tick"... in a LD.

I'd have to agree with Hukif on this one, assuming you don't need to be constantly thinking during a LD. I've done it myself, however i normally wake up due to the intensity of the event.

Oh then i have to tell you I did constantly think thro'out lucid.
Got three dream Events last night and participated.. Harh~tired TIRED.
And if you haven realise, I Participate in dreams. Not create them like u all did (\_/) so I need absolute 0 effort to enter lucid.
But fortunately, its not like reoccuring nightmares or sth.

not at all.. in order to be lucid, you need to be aware. and that is what lucidity is all about.

I tried it once. I was dreaming that I was in either a store or a warehouse, I don't really remember. I was lucid, and sat down on the floor to try meditating, and shortly after I closed my eyes, somebody walked up to me and asked if I wanted to spar. I couldn't resist and I got up and sparred them. Lol.

same here, that is how i learned to lucid dream. natural occurance. doesn't mean you have to "think" about lucid dreaming... just that you suddenly aware that you are in a dream.

I've only done it once, miniaturize that is. It's when you shrink down as far as you can go, kinda like becoming a giant but opposite obviously.
It's somewhat like meditating in the sense that you really have to concentrate on keeping the dream stable. (which i find difficult)
But yeah, you should try it out. It can take you to very strange worlds.
My goal is to get down deep enough to see the "dream fabric" or maybe even the neurons inside my own head! lol

Also i will post more results when i have them. :p

It felt real. And I do have to make lots of decision in it. A lot like reality just that I can do some extra stuffs at emergency.
Last night just had a double layer dream, I had to wake 2 times. When I met a serious problem at the 2nd layer dream, I forced myself out of that scene and to wake on the 1st layer. And when I felt it was safe enough, I went back to the 2nd layer to investigate furthur.
Wonder what I'm thinkin about..to go back and forth like that.
