      What RC do you use?

Looking at one of sivason's threads, I was thinking about how many people have their own unique reality check. So, what reality checks have you used and which do you use now? If you use one that's not so common, please explain it.

For me, I started with the finger through the palm RC and counting fingers. They never got me lucid though, probably because though I was consistent throughout the day, I was just getting into lucid dreaming then. I then change my RC to the nose plug, which I mostly use to confirm i'm dreaming rather than question if I am dreaming or not.
These days, I don't really use a physical RC, it's all mental. I just "feel" the dream with my mind.

Any questions about lucid dreaming? Drop me a PM here!

I do the Nose Plug, hand through other hand, try to summon a fireball with my hands and whenver I have a clock the clock Reality check. Nothing out of the normal though.

Same as you. I just check reality by feeling if it's a dream or not, and it always work (I hope ). If I should feel the need to do a more conventional one I would use the digital watch or a paper with some text on it.

Awareness or memory, nose-plug for confirmation.

Good to see we still have people doing ADA! Keep at it!

I started with finger through the palm. It's my main RC but sometimes I just look at my hands and try to read texts. Also i'm trying to do the same as you, just feel the dream.

To be honest the finger through the palm didn't work correctly for me. I tried it twice in dreams. The first time it got me lucid (because it was very stable). Instead of watching my finger through my palm it just made a black hole on it and when I saw the other side of the hand I saw like a bulge but no finger. I got really scared and I was about to wake up but I simply stopped looking at it and continued. The second time it happened the same but somehow I didn't become aware...

I take a minute to check my hands and count my fingers. Most of the reality check is mental. I tune in to my surroundings, my senses, and my recent memory. Most of the time I know right away if I am dreaming, but the reality checks helps me focus, improve my awareness, and ground myself.

I mostly just try to heighten my awareness, though I occasionally use the nose plug RC if I feel the need for confirmation.
The finger counting RC never really worked for me.
When my dreams are vivid I always count 10 fingers.
      Dreams are simple.
It's the painfully simple things the human mind cannot comprehend.
After all your mind is trained to understand the complexity of the waking world,
not the simplicity of the dream world.

Nose plug! And just general awareness
      From my rotting body,
      flowers shall grow
      and I am in them
      and that is eternity.

I used to use the finger through the palm technique and it worked quite well. Then, I went to do it in a dream and it didn't work, but somehow I knew for a fact I was dreaming. So, I tried it a few more times, with no success each time. At this point I decided I was moving to a new RC, and in the dream I tried the nose plug and it worked. So, the nose plug is what I use now along with asking whether or not I am dreaming and thinking how I got where I am whenever I do an RC

Both RCs with hands work bad for me, so I use nose-plug, digital clock check and reading test (if possible).

The ones I use during the day are the finger through palm RC, looking at my hands and counting my fingers, looking at a digital clock twice, reading text twice and the nose plug RC.

However, when I become lucid I usually don't need to do a reality check to confirm that I'm dreaming.

yeah i will! it's my most effective reality check because in my only lucid dream i had the finger trough palm and counting fingers failed, so i just observed my surroundings and i became fully lucid!

I always seem to use the nose plug RC to confirm my LD's. They ALWAYS work so that's good, however I seem to do this automatically in my dreams but it works so who am I to question.

Finger counting. Hasn't let me down yet =D. I usually have to spend about 10 seconds counting each finger though just to be sure. Gonna try the finger through palm next time if i can.

I've done almost all of them at one point or another but I consistently use the nose-plug, hand-check, and digital clock one. I'm not special; I haven't made up my own

Something strange in the dream will tip me off that I'm dreaming, and I'll nose-plug check to confirm. Or I nose-plug check every time I wake up, including false awakenings.

I normally look at the back of my hands. If I find something "suspicious" then I usually find a way to look at the time (from asking a dream character to looking at a clock) and then find out again about 30 seconds later
