Ever try convincing a DC they're in a dream?

Out of curiosity, has anyone ever tried doing this?

I've done it in one of my Lucids. It was pretty damn funny actually. I'm walking down this empty road, and as I'm walking I come across this lone girl. Teenager, my age-ish. I tell her she's in a dream, and at first she's like ">_> You stupid as hell bruh". But then I tell her quite smugly, "Fine, do a reality check then". And I show her the -finger through palm- RC, and she copies me, and it works. She starts bugging out and she just couldn't believe it. I felt pretty accomplished, hahaha.

Yes, I used to do this all the time for fun. They almost never believe and then I would show them all the crazy stuff that makes no sense. The DCs have always either acted as if I was crazy, or they have become very upset. I used to try this to get a DC to leave me alone to train skills in a LD rather than get caught up in random dream stuff. It never worked. I would tell them that the whole thing they were doing or concerned with did not matter as it was a dream. Then they would get in my face even more denying it.
My approach to getting DCs to leave me alone now, is to give them money or something like that. As an example a DC was yelling that I never paid rent and so on. I was going to say "F-off, you are not real" but instead pulled out dream money from my dream pocket, handed him a few hundred dollars, then handed him more saying he should use it to buy groceries. The DC shrugged, took the money and stopped hassling me.

It sounds like you shared dream with someone you don't know, it can happen. I read about it. You meet people in dreams from waking life that you don't know. She actually freaked out

Ahahaha, that last bit is quite amuzing actually! I don't know why I find it so funny though.
"Here's a couple hundred bucks. Buy some groceries while you're at it!"

Not sure if I believe in dream sharing, but it would be wicked cool if it actually happened. Haha.

I absolutely love convincing DC's it's a dream, even if it has lead to some rather unpleasant situations. In fact I met my dream guide that way. I showed him how it was a dream and he got really upset and depressed realizing he wasn't real. At his point I felt really, really bad for him knowing he's nothing but a part of mind. So I told him not to worry and that I would make sure to remember him specifically so he could live on in my mind, corny I know. From there on he's been in every lucid I can remember, even some non lucids, and usually reminds me of lucid techniques I've learned previously but have a hard time remembering while in dreams. It's really weird to have a connection with someone that doesn't exsist.

haha Tkindle007 thats exactly what happened to me, except I don't know if she's my dream guide but I did bum her out and make her depressed and then tell her I would remember her and get her to be in another of my dreams.

I never had it happen to me, although I did one time have a DC suggest to me that I was dreaming. This was a long time ago, though. I once saw a video about dream levels and how DCs act differently depending on what level the dream is. In one they may not be aware at all and in another they will tell you that you are dreaming. I do not believe it ever mentioned anything about them being convinced, although them telling you suggests that they are aware of it as well.

      It sounds interesting to do.

No but seriously, that's hella awesome. I need to do that sometime, but a bit more subtly. xD

hmm.. well I havn't tried that before but I do remeber something like this but the other way around. It was a dc (he was some kind of red/purple blob) that told me that I was dreaming, I didn't pay any mind to what he said sadly. That was way before I discovered lucid dreaming.

My dreamguide did a realitycheck with me once though and we both realized it was a dream. But he did that on his on demand.. or yeah, it was a subconsious desicion D:

I've had Stephen LaBerge's nova goggle things tell me I'm dreaming. Yes, it had a voice. It was probably the coolest damn thing ever.

It makes sense because how many people do you know would that you seriously in real life? So its just a projection of your veiw of reality.

Of course, one can also deal with those pesky DCs in this manner:

I have tried a few times, but they didn't seem to understand it.
BTW DCs made me lucid twice (Once she started speaking about lucid dreaming, once he told me I was dreaming directly).

It's weird reading how someone got a DC upset and then try to comfort the DC. I was practically rough to DCs, although she's my younger cousin and I would never do that to her in a non-lucid, she was asking me to help her find her father and I hooked her by the neck with a walking cane and left her with a robot whom she claimed is her father in my lucid.

I wonder if anyone tried convincing people in real life, convince them they are in a dream or in reality. But you need strong persuasive skills to do that. And indirectly you'll be implementing ideas into that person's mind, if things go successful, in a good way that person will have heightened awareness and might be able to become lucid in a dream, in a bad way the person might start questioning reality, that's if you're really that persuasive. But the guilt of playing with one's mind will always be with you.

Just recently I had a LD where I basically shook a DC down telling her she didn't exist. "Doesn't that bother you?" I asked. She seemed quite upset by it. Throughout the lucid dream, she was afraid but wanted to help me. She even told me her name was Colleen in a defiant way as if to prove she had an identity.

      Poor Colleen.

What happens if she's your dream guide?

If you believe in such stuff.
