This is another pseudo-survey of mine seeking to build data-points for a potential guide I've been playing around with. |

“I don't think that you have any insight whatsoever into your capacity for good until you have some well-developed insight into your capacity for evil.”
― Jordan B. Peterson
I pursue lucidity cause I want acceptance and control. If I judge others then I judge myself and don't accept us. If I am free of that then I can gain lucidity using the methods here at dreamviews. On a deeper level I pursue lucidity to come more in touch with myself and bring happiness. I don't pursue lucidity to destroy my morals and do whatever I want. This will not bring happiness. |
|
I pursue lucidity for adventuring into the subconscious and the amazing things you can uncover that are deep down in your mind. |

Up on Melancholy Hill
There's a plastic tree
Are you here with me?
Just looking out on the day of another dream
I pursue it in an attempt to learn how to dream whatever I want at will for my entertainment. |
|
To explore the subconscious mind and figure out why I do the things I do, and to troubleshoot problems I have in real life in a moldable sandbox setting. To find inspiration for my writing that I wouldn't be able to discover otherwise. |

Lucid dreaming about sexy manly fictional characters all the way. Even though having a partner in real life, lucid dreaming about these characters are just another story to pursue by me. |

Because it offers me an escape from waking life. I no longer feel trapped by reality and I can do as I please. Where waking reality where my life is relatively on rails and repetitive, dreams are unique and sporadic and offer new adventures every time. I feel as though if I am to experience those adventures to the fullest extent, I must become lucid. |
|
I think lucid dreaming in general is incredibly awesome. |

I peruse lucidity for the chance satisfy my unquenchable thirst for adventure while I'm stuck going through schooling and working up enough money to go adventuring in the waking world. |

To better know my self. |
|
To have experiences I can only dream of in real life (So meta). But in all seriousness, that is my motivation. I have an innate desire to try and experience new things. I indeed also want to find things about myself that I was never aware of, like other people on this thread, but that isn't my main driving force. |
|
I seek lucidity because it feels like home and I feel like me--all of me, not a compartmentalized version. Also, inhabiting a non-physical environment and sharing that experience with others contributes to that 'home' feeling. |

I want freedom of expression and creativity. This world which is reality, is tied down by this illusion created by society known as "logic" and "reason". It is corrupting all of us into losing the childhood joy, beauty, and adventurousness of knowing the universe is infinitely vast and anything can happen in it. Currently, I am in a battle with society to sustain this magic which is threatened to be destroyed and it is harsh and painful road. You're old to do that anymore they all say. You're too old to watch that anymore. You should play violent video games and watch R-rated movies. No. Just no. I can't do any of those things. It's too against my nature, but I can't battle with them for much longer. I have to find a place of retreat. A safe haven. A refugee. A paradise. A dream world. I don't want to lose my inner child. I don't want to become another dull, washed up soul existing in this world like the majority of people my age. So, I must find a place in which I can exist. Until the rest of the world finds out fantasy and reality are one in the same. The only difference being fantasy hasn't been discovered yet. |

"And you get a balloon. And you get a balloon. And you get a balloon..."
I love the experience because it feels an entirely new frontier of human exploration. There is a reason we call ourselves oneironauts. Also I really want to pursue a persistent realm. |

Check your memory, did any suprising event happpen ? does the present make sense ? visualize what you will do when lucid, and how. Reality check as reminder of your intention to lucid dream tonight. Sleep as good as you can; when going to sleep, relax and invite whatever comes with curiosity. Grab your dream journal immediately as you awake and write everything you can recall (if only when you wake up for good). Keep calm, positive and persistent, and don't forget to have fun along the way
