Dream Meat

Sorry I couldn't come up with a more coherent/clever title, but hear me out. A couple of weeks ago I dreamt I was in the middle eastern desert, and I had to cut up and eat animals to survive. The weird thing is: The meat tasted like a really smoky lamb mixed with seasoning that had a sort of savory, rich taste to it. I couldn't tell you if this was goat, camel, or whatever roams the middle east, but it was REALLY weird. Have any of you ever tasted, as I'm going to call them, dream meats from an unknown animal? What did it taste like?

Rarely will my mind do a very good job as far as getting tastes right. The tastes seem blander than real life and often a bit off towards the side of tasting like card board.

Yes, but on the other hand, many things seems to taste rather decent - I mean things that shouldn't. After reading in here the importance of tasting things (and eating them), which is supposed to involve more senses and therefore increase vividness, I once found myself lucid in my bedroom (a reasonable facsimile of it anyway) and so I did a couple reality checks, felt the surfaces of things on and around my body, got out of bed, and punched the glass out of the window (which was far smaller than it should have been). I then reached outside and felt the rough bricks, and then picked up some broken glass off the floor and ate it. It was like clear sheets of licorice, but unflavored. It wasn't hard or brittle like glass, felt like licorice, didn't taste sweet or anything else really, but it was pleasant to chew and taste.

My experience is that things taste the way they do IRL. And are usually really delicious. But I haven't tried any mystery meats...could be a fun basic task for the tasks of the month though.

Hahah this thread is brilliant! I've not had much experience tasting things. I don't actually remember a single instance of tasting anything. I do remember being lucid once, i was in my old high school and I decided to pick up a random guitar next to the vending machine, smashed the window, stole a bunch of chocolate. But I don't remember eating it. Weirdly I remember giving out the chocolate to some DCs.

I've not had much experience tasting things. I definitely reccomend trying it out... Not just food. All sorts of stuff. You can supercharge your dream-jaws and chomp through pretty much anything like butter. Trees, rock, candles... Having something to drink is also great. In the dream-world version of my parents house there is sometimes a fridge with a touch screen that can provide anything I want. I like to bring a drink with me on my adventures. Since I try to avoid sugary drinks IRL, it's nice to ask the fridge for a soda with a flavour I've never had before to bring along. Drinking also works nicely to stabilize should it be nessesary.

I’ve had experiences where I was lucid in a kitchen / bar and I made myself some food and a drink. I was lucid at the time and thought it would be interesting so I cooked random stuff that I found and blended some liquids that were in the cupboard. It tasted very good even though I had no idea what it was. Don’t remember much about how it tasted besides that it was very good.

One time I was on this planet where everything was made of candy/sweets. It was like Willy Wonka planet or something. I was flying around at crazy fast speeds and would swoop down with my mouth open wide to plant my face into the ground, eating vast ditches several miles long into ice cream mountains. Diving into a lake of chocolate or banana pudding and devouring the whole thing before moving on to my next target. Everything tasted delicious, and despite the enormous amount of stuff I ate, I was able to wake up the same weight as before I went to sleep.

hehe, I have tasted quite a couple of creatures meat. Including but not limited to, giant dogs, cats, centaurs, ogres, humans, zombies, vampires, werewolfs, shark, whale, lava worms, "walms", dragons and a bunch of other shit. Most of them had different tastes, humans were much alike pig while zombies tasted just like rotten chicken meat and was disgusting yep.

Oh!! I almost forgot!! It's not meat, but there was a dream where I tasted ambrosia nectar. It tasted like a combination of mango and rosewater. Then Zeus came along and smote me because the Greek gods are kind of jerks who want to hoard the ambrosia for themselves.
