Lucid - saw myself in the mirror for the first time

I'm sure more accomplished lucid dreamers have done this many times, but my lucids are usually so short I struggle to achieve goals.
In this lucid I noticed the mirror in the room, so thought I would have look at my reflection, but at first there wasn't one. I decided to move out and then back in-line with the mirror, and then I did see my reflection. It was recognisably me, but my head was squashed and my cheeks fatter, with lumps a bit like the elephant man!
Very weird, but pleased that I managed to conjure up my reflection like that.

Only about fifteen seconds of lucidity though, as is often the case with my lucids :'(

Seing myself in a mirror was something that triggered my first lucid dream ever. It was somewhat scary, btw - very strange creature. It became my habit to look in the mirror in LDs, and now it happens almost every time, even unintentionally. Even if there is no mirror, there happens to show up a surface that unexpectedly reflects my image in a scary but funny way.

Hi Goldenspark! That's cool that you saw your reflection in the dream. I have seen it a few times. Last night I had 4 eyes. Another time I had only one nostril.

I don't really like mirrors IWL, so I was avoiding them in my lucids as well. But then there was a lucid task of the month and I thought what a better time to conquer my fears. I found a mirror and I looked. And since then I look at every opportunity. It's always a surprise what I see, but most of the time it's recognizably me, sometimes a little different looking me. Few times I even went through the mirror.

Btw, goldenspark, I see you have about same number of LDs as I had when my lucids started to get much longer. I'm sure yours will as well. Just don't worry about the length. It's your dream and you will wake up only when you want to. (make sure your subC reads this, haha)

Congrats on your mirror dream : D

Thanks Gab - positive schema as always
I've had occasional help from supps over the last few years, but I'm trying to go "au naturel" now, just becase I prefer it that way.
I do feel I'm making progress, if extremely slow!

I have looked into a mirror once while lucid. It also looked like me, but was stretched out like a funhouse mirror. I kept trying to move my head to get a better view, but it just stretched and squashed every time I moved. was only lucid for about 30 seconds (of course who knows what dream seconds translate to in real time haha)

During the day I have been looking for odd places to see my reflection ......curved surfaces like chromed faucets and windshields. I stop and study my features while I move a little. That, of course, begs the obvious question....which I am better able to ask with sincerity if my face is distorting crazily.

About a month ago I had one of my infrequent lucids without using supps where I purposely went to look at myself in the mirror. I looked quite different than I do in real life but I knew it was me. As I stared at my image, my face quickly cycled through a number of others faces, ending in the face of my deceased father. It looked so realistic that it shook me up and I felt like I was quickly being pulled back into my bed where I instantly woke up. Gotta say that I enjoyed the experience though.

I will say congrats to you because one of the bravest things one can do while lucid is to purposefully look into a mirror. Lucid looking into a mirror is like a box of chocolates... you never know what you're going to get. Does that even make sense? I'm not sure. Oh well. It's late. Congrats on this lucid dream and the gazillions more to come.

p.s. Is there anything like a 'looking at my reflection while lucid' thread? It might be interesting to have the results all stashed in one area.
