photonist, congrats on the recall and overall success so far! Aside from benefits to sleeping, abstaining from food after 6pm is very healthy for your body. It allows time for your digestive system to clear everything out. That is probably the reason it aids recall. Digesting food while sleeping affects body chemistry which in turn effects dreams. For example, too much sugar before bed can increase the heart rate and lead to nightmares. For a lot of people, their schedules are really hectic so eating late might be their only option but if you can do it, more power to you!
