Why don't people LD when meditating?

When people meditate in the morning why don't they go into a LD accidentally?

They are relaxing, staying still, and keeping some focus.

Cuz you need to fall asleep in order to LD. A common misconception is that you can WILD without falling asleep, which will NEVER happen. When people meditate, they don't aim to fall asleep, and therefore do not go into the deeper stages of sleep (technically the lighter stages) called REM, where they will dream vividly and lucidly.

Well, you don't spontaneously succeed with a WILD that often. If you're meditating in the morning and you feel like you can sleep more then chances are way more likely that you'll fall asleep and end up in a non-lucid. You can catch yourself on the brink of sleep though and try, that would work.

People do lucid dream while meditating. It happens all the time. People slip into out of body experiences, have visions, and feel energy vibrations.

      That^.
It would be nREM most likely. Unless you're lying down and meditating. But definitely people do dream while meditating sometimes.
But the point of meditating is not to fall asleep. That is why the lotus posture is used, because it's not really comfortable and it takes a little bit
of effort to stay in that position, so you won't just go to sleep.
The point is to get very very relaxed and stay aware.

So yes some people do dream while meditating, and that awareness would stop them from falling asleep completely, they would be LDing.
But, that's not to say they always recognise it as a dream, they sometimes think it is prophetic visions or astral projections etc.

      What tommo said!
I think most people prefer to do it when sleeping rather than to induce it by meditation.
