Why wouldn't you, your intention is enough to remember your dreams and by just becoming lucid while in a dream (DILD) can get you about 2-4 LD's a month after 5 months of trying. If you use a mantra when you go to sleep (MILD) that will help a lot too. You don't need to chew up a lot of time to LD. I have been trying to LD for about 5 months and got one on the second week. Like Xedan said you could try wake up earlier and go to bed later and a dream journal is really important for recall, write down every detail that you can think of to get your recall better.
Yea, I was probably relating this too much to myself, as I can take very long periods of time when writing down very vivid dreams.
