But it could be a part time job too, or a temporary assignment where you work for a few days. I doubt any papers are involved in that, and you might get paid in cash at the end of the week depending on the employer.

You're intending to study a game developing course? Good luck with that, you can't believe how horribly small the market is. Game programmers are not getting pay too well, not sure for the artists but not too well either. I took games design and development actually. Here in Ireland, england, The Netherlands and germany the game industry is booming, off course the wages are higher here aswell. What I really care about is to get a job I love to do, I dont really care about money, cars or a big house.

Money wouldn't be a issue when it comes to passion. I know everyone says that. But when you're working more and earning less than your peers, you'll fee the stress. Besides when reality questions come in like housing and looking after your family (parents, spouse and children), having a good stable career is really, really worth considering. I'm not sure how easy it is to get a game related job at your country but I wouldn't discourage you from trying. You're still young, you still have the time. And game related jobs are pretty tiring, it's not just about playing games (the thought I had when I went into my course lol).

Or maybe I'm just unlucky with jobs.

Luckily I know what I'm doing. I've been devloping games, music and computer art for more than three years now so I'm pretty confident. Unlike most people who pick a course I have a fair idea of what its about. Also games jobs here are moderately well payed because all games western games are made here.

That just goes to show how stupid I was when I was 16. But a lot of things wouldn't have happen if I have not been in that course. I probably wouldn't even give a damn about my dreams and come on DV too. I kind of studied about Jung and Freud in my course under a philosophy related module.

But I believe your country's game industry should be much, much bigger. We're a small country here and arts are not favoured.

I just wanna go to sleep and dream.

I'm very frustrated, but I can't quite figure out why. Might be all the travelling. Might be the fact that my good phone is dead. Might be the fact that I can't find the charger for my back-up phone (effectively leaving me my back-up-back-up phone). Might just be life in general. Might be this gnawing anxiety I've had lately. (And a certain recent, but thus far unspoken of, event certainly hasn't lessened it). Might just be the fact that it's late and I'm tired, but too tired to sleep. Might be the fact that I currently don't have a functional realism escape in place (that is what good games and fantasy books are for, right?). But Gah.

Man, I can't remember the last time I was this depressed. All I can do is lay in bed and sleep when not on the computer. My motivation is fucked beyond belief, I really hope I can drop one of these summer courses.

Now sure why people call it a "black job" but here we just call it a cash in hand job. That's what I do.
You should look for them if you can Zoe. Because it is less pay than legal jobs, but you don't pay tax and you can get references from the people you work with
so then you will have experience to get a legal job after that.
Usually restaurants will hire people this way. Sometimes you just ask them for a job, you talk for a bit, give your resume, they'll ask you to come in and try it out and
see how you go. Then you have a job.
It's really easy to get restaurant jobs.

This game may just be one of those things that comes and goes that's supposed to help you, but it's pretty intriguing. I've seen things KIND OF like it before, but not quite in the way that they approach it. It's a self-help planner that's in the form of an adventure game, with quests, bad-guys, power-ups, etc.

This TED talk talks all about it; I'll let her rant to you!

I need to stop being so lazy. I push off so much stuff; this morning I was feeling really overwhelmed for some reason. Plus, a few large expenses coming up... I need new tires, that'll be at least $500. I renew my car insurance soon as well, that's about $2200 (I pay it over the course of 3 months). Then, I need to sign up for this semester for class. I'm not sure yet what I'll take, but all the classes I've taken to far have been over $300. I'll be fine, but it's just a bit frustrating. I want to be saving money, but even after all the overtime I've been working I haven't been putting much extra away. Which is my fault--I picked an apartment at the top of my budget, I really should look for a cheaper place.

But back to be lazy... I stay up too late, sleep in to early. I need to get out of that habit before school starts. And with school, I've been pushing off signing up for classes because I don't want to spend the money. But I have to (obviously I don't HAVE to, but I'm telling myself that) so I looked at classes earlier. I wanted to try online classes, but finding info about them was really annoying. And what I found, is that most of the classes I need aren't offered online. But I don't know, the one's that ARE offered online are classes I don't think I'd want to take online.

Still on being lazy... I'm not keeping my place clean like I wanted. I'm definitely doing better, but I just have a horrible work ethic at home. I was just thinking, I actually complained to my boss because they were taking work away from me. I HATE being lazy at work, I want to be occupied the entire time basically. Yet at home I'm the complete opposite. I feel like I had other things to rant about, but I'm really stoned and can't remember.


But anyway, this isn't too much of a rant anymore. My head's cleared since this morning, and I spent some time thinking about this stuff over the day. I think I'll just take normal classes. One of the main reasons I wanted to try online classes is because I felt like it was such a waste to drive 30 minutes (there and back) for a 50 minute class. So, I'm considering biking to class. I hate biking on busy roads, but if I can scout out some back roads to ride on I'd definitely trade 30 minutes in the car for 60 minutes on a bike. This means I'd need to get up earlier though.

Which brings me to the other thing I want to start doing--going to bed earlier. It's not an issue actually falling asleep, I just stay up too late doing stupid shit. So, it's come home, do the dishes, relax a bit, then bed. I'm keeping the PS3 off at night--no netflix/games (we'll see how long that lasts). Waking up earlier will mean I can bike to school, but I think it'll also help in cleaning my apartment. I made a list of "chores" to do for each day of the week--very simple and easy tasks that over the course of the week will keep the place clean. The problem is, these chores are scheduled for my morning/afternoon before work. Except I stay up too late and essentially cut into that time.




I'm not sure if this is a legit rant, or if I'm just rambling. Either way, I'm still probably just rambling. I do that.

Oh god! That's happened to me at a Chinese restaurant. But the owner refunded our money and gave us free food. So, maybe it was worth it? Hahaha.

Well I'm pretty sure I reached my food limit for the day anyway, so in that respect yeah.

I don't know why but all day I've been extremely pissed off and bored. Nothing is fun, not even games or drinking. I feel a constant need to stretch or exercise but doing so doesn't help. I just want the day to be over, but am not tired enough to sleep.

Some WoW problems. I've spent the last 2 hours trying to level in WoW but can't. I look up quests online that are good for my level 80 mage, travel all the way to wherever the quest is supposed to be, and there is no quest there. This happened like 5 times and took about the entire 2 hours, failing to receive even one quest. Meanwhile, I've tried to enter dungeons and keep failing at that too. I finally entered a dungeon and it was going fine, when suddenly everyone else gets on some dragon and flies away and I have no idea what's going on. Apparently I needed to have a dragon for that, and my griffin wouldn't fly in that place. So I just exited, tried to find quests again to no avail, got mad and left.

Then I decided to try ARMA 2 finally but the controls were so annoying I got even more pissed off and exited that too. But I decided to get DayZ anyway, so I started to look that up but didn't have the patience to and could tell it would just pissed me off further so I stopped doing that too. Now I have nothing to do. I'd like it to be tomorrow because something is wrong with me today.

Tomorrow I want to wake up earlier, go for a walk and do other exercises, eat well. I'm writing that here so that I actually do it.

Sorry for the rant. I'm sure that barely posting in months, then coming here and complaining and expecting people to read it doesn't make me look very good.

Those are probably follow-ups. But just get to one of the quest hubs in the new areas. Can't recall which were good at 80 at the moment, but it shouldn't really be so hard to find some. There are notice boards in the major cities with "call to arms" quest that leads you to appropriate levelling zones. The quests in cata are quite good, I seem to recall.
About the dungeon, that particular instance is a level 80 instance if I recall ('The Oculus' or something?). When you enter the portal thing and defeat a boss, representatives for each of the dragon people appear in the room. Just talk to them to get a dragon. It's customary for DPS to take a red dragon, healer to take the green dragon and tanks to take the brown dragon I think, and then you use them for the last fight. Just be quick about getting a dragon, and keep up with the other people and you'll be fine. (I went through exactly the same experience first time I was there, and a friend of mine had to explain to me what was happening).
But just ask people if there's something you don't get. They're mostly nice people. I think.

My breathing seems to have returned to normal so now I can finally start working out and getting back in shape. Wonder how long it'll take me to gain 20 pounds. >_<
