Yes, it happens a lot, generally because I refuse to journal them <.<

Yes. Although you're conscious in them, after you wake up they're just like any dream memory (although they may be more "memorable", this doesn't mean they can't be forgotten). I've waited too long to write down a few entries and completely forgot them.

I reckon that most people have had at least 1 lucid in their lifetime, but simply don't acknowledge it because they've forgotten it. Bad recall, I imagine.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I disagree about lucid's being exactly like normal dreams, memory wise. I think being concious within them makes them considerably easier to remember.
And when people become lucid accidently without knowing it, they don't know what they're capable of. They either choose to wake up, or wake up unwillingly.

Yes. A few times I've woken up with the feeling that I had a lucid dream, but I can't remember anything about it. I just remember thinking that I'm having a lucid dream (not in words) at some point.

A lot of times, I'll scribble a note about a lucid when I wake up in the middle of the night and only write a few words. Then when I wake up again later, I've totally forgotten it. I really hate it when that happens. I guess the lesson is to write a little more detail, even if it is a lucid you might forget it later.
