The idea is something like Civilization
Having 5-6 time periods and a set of tasks for every period (some easier, some challenging, they could be about invention/technologies or just something fitting into that period). Finishing all tasks from one period (or maybe 80% of the tasks or some specific task) would unlock tasks from the next period.
So we could start with tasks like hunting a mammoth using stone tools and end with space exploration.

For the standard format, I think that many suggestions from the previous year are really good.
I will think about it too but I would be perfectly happy with one of them.
