Spinning as you go to sleep

When I was a kid, every time I fell asleep, I felt like my bed was spinning. The sensation was sometimes pleasant, sometimes overwhelming. I got scared, and I made it go away somehow. Now, (I'm 38) I wish I could make it happen again, because it felt fun. It happened to me a couple years ago, by accident. I was able to make it happen just a few times after hundreds of tries.
Did you ever feel like you were spinning off to sleep?

I've had this feeling a few times before.

I felt it once while trying to WILD, and the other times were somewhat spontaneous. Maybe make it a mantra when you go to sleep?

I just imagine myself spinning or my bed rocking back and forth, and after a little time it starts to feel real.
      It's difficult to maintain though.
Sometimes I imagine my bed spinning and me staying stuck to it, it feels weird but fun.

I have that feeling during a WILD transition sometimes. Actually most of the time. This morning I had an awesome WILD transition though. I woke up typed up some notes about dreams, and as soon as my eyes shut I was in a dream. Must have timed it perfectly.

I have that feeling when I´m really really tired, and the only thing I want to do is go to bed. Maybe try it when you´re feeling like that!

Yep, I get this. It is usually very early on in hypnagogia.

I've had that before when going to bed! Interestingly if my muscles are very tight, and began to stretch, yoga or something, the same spinning comes over me. It's extremely pleasant.

Interesting that it's a pleasant feeling for you.
I had something like this all the time as a kid, and it would frustrate me and keep me awake.
I haven't had it in recent years, but it used to drive me nuts!

I used to have the most peculiar sensation of vibrating up and down, it freaked me out because I had a bunk bed and would sleep on the top bunk with noone on the bottom, and thought that there was someone kicking my mattress from underneath!

I too have often kinda wished it would come back, and I wondered if it would help me WILD as I've never had much luck. Every now and then out of nowhere it'll happen for a second or two before disappearing again, elusive ain't it?

Another strange sensation I often have a difficult time explaining to people: especially as a child, but even now occasionally, I'll have moments where it feels like my head is rapidly expanding, as if I become acutely aware of some massive, vast and immeasurable force, and I feel ridiculously tiny in comparison. Or, I'll feel huge, it's this incredible distortion of the general feeling of proportion. I've always thought of it as my personal way of experiencing the grandeur of God, or the splendor universe, whatever you think of such matters. My friend told me it didn't make any sense and was likely a dream I thought was reality, but I, being awake, know differently.

I've had this a number of times I call it astral spinning because it feels like your astral body spinning. I find it happens when I meditate before falling asleep but only rarely. It's very pleasant and you can control it somewhat.

When I was a kid I'd feel the sensation of my bed rocking. If only I'd pursued it, I might be a natural WILDer now...
