Thread: pen spinning?

Yeah, I started learning how to do that about 7 years ago, when I was bored in high school and trying to pass the time. I still remember when I first started, I dropped it about 15 times in my Anatomy class and the teacher stops class to go, "Can't you do that at home?"

You rock! I'm not even close to that good. I can just do it forward, backward, and do some crazy rotation switch between my first three fingers and thumb. Its just something I do when I get really bored.

yeah i learned from bordom too but just stuck with it since i thought it was really cool. and thanks!

Yeah Ive tried it although I only know how to spin it around my thumb and through my fingers. You should try it with an exacto knife, makes things more interesting!

hehee... I'm almost 40 years old and I used to spin my pens and pencils during school (out of boredom) too Though I wasn't nearly as good as the videos!!
Then I started spinning my cigarettes Only burned myself a couple of times

there is knifes made for spinning. i think they are called ballsign knives not sure and i have tryed to spin a knife couple times. lol

A typical sleight of hand practice I do same with coin, kind of like magicans train as well when I am passing time.

Balisong (Butterfly) knives.

I always used to wonder how drummers do that with drumsticks.

You should see how real knife fighting experts switch blade from hand to hand and change grips in the middle of the action. That sure isn't as flashy as pen, but it is beauty of fluid movement to combined with striking and cutting.

Im practicing right now. My friend showed me a simple twirl and it boggled my mind.
Thanks for the share, I now have something to do during boring lectures other than chatting up girls :/

EDIT: In the pen-fail video when the guy laughs like an idiot he says (in russian) "huhuhuhuhu its stuck huhuhu"

the kid in the video quit pen spinning 6 months ago or so. also learning it is really hard. even if you are good its still hard.

now that you've mastered pens, try some knives!
