Fear of the Unknown- Preventing My Lucidity

For the past couple of years, usually when I try to gain further control of my lucidity in a dream, I am faced with a menacing entity in some shape or form that prevents me from expanding lucidity.
I once remember a dream where I was walking along adventurous paths through heavy woods and having a feeling of a greater awareness and felt if I could just continue on the paths and reach the destination, I would achieve full consciousness in the dream and could go wherever and do whatever I desired.
But a wolf appears on the path, and tries to intimidate me with it's teeth and deep growl.

I am a believer in the Law of Attraction and that whatever thoughts you have, will manifest. I must not worry or focus on my fear of the unknown and I need to just roll with it. It is much easier said than done.

Sometimes when I'm faced with a closed door in a dream, I focus too much on the thought of "I don't want there to be something scary on the other side of this door" and just thinking that thought, makes me hesitate on opening the door because I am focused on a negative thought that could manifest in my dream if I don't stop thinking about it. So I try to change my thought pattern and usually the entire dream changes as a result and I find myself distracted with new surroundings or scenarios and completely forgetting that I am in a dream.

My hope is that just writing this before bed will give me the courage to face the unknown and unlock a much deeper realm of lucid dreaming to be able to be able to dip into more experiences of it's infinite possibilities.

If there are others out there who have found tricks or would just like to share their experience on how they got over their fear of the unknown in the dream realm, please share

How do you respond to these intimidation attempts and manifestations of your thoughts/fears? Do you actually feel like they have a major effect on your and inhibit you progress or is it just a speed bump along the way? I had a vary similar thing as a child, and I always ran away from it. Once I realized that I could just do whatever I wanted, I confronted this entity and it seemed to disappear from my dreams (still haven't encountered it). If you can, standing up for yourself or snarling back at whatever is in front of you could help consciously make you less fearful of what was going on, and give less power to this subconscious suggestion.

Scary things use to show up in my lucid dreams. Still do, to a lesser extent. At first I tried to fight the thing or make it go away, but that seemed to just make it stronger. Then I tried just ignoring it, and it usually went away.
Now when something happens in a lucid dream that I don't like, I just tell myself and/or the thing that nothing can hurt me in a dream so there's no reason for me to be afraid. That usually works for me.

It is more of a speed bump for me, I guess you could say. I have achieved some pretty awesome things while lucid before. For now I'll work on confronting fears as they come and also trying to not rush out of bed in the mornings for work. Waking up earlier will surely give me more time to recall, record and remember my dreams

You can also pretend like it isn't happening. That can be really helpful for things like obstacles. For threatening DCs, just be nice to them, or address them confidently. You could pet the wolf and make him your friend

I am never nice to obstacles

I either ignore them out of existence or destroy them

Don't let them waste your dream time,
Recently I had a pair of dream police try to arrest me for crimes against dreamanity (or whatever their problem was)
In dreams I always have the power to draw weapons even when not lucid, but that was the wrong approach here
it would imply that I needed to defend myself from dream police while lucid, it would have brought down an army
of countless dream wasters. So after they told me "Your going to have to come with us", I reached out and put my
left hand on the side of the officers neck and my other hand on his shoulder and then I separated my hands.
I thought it was pretty impressive, but the surviving officer had a lot of audacity he said "I'm very sorry sir but I'm
afraid your still going to have to come with me". Well at least he changed his pronoun. I drew his partners gun as
he opened fire on me hitting me twice I healed instantly, and seeing this he quickly retreated at very high speed,
wisely I tossed the gun across the dreamscape to show that I wasn't worried about police coming back, they didn't.

They had weapons, equipment, radios, vehicles ignoring them just wouldn't have worked, so do what ever is fastest to
get rid of time wasters in your dream.

See a wolf on the path, draw a whip from your belt and crack it smartly. If the wolf doesn't scamper. Reach behind
your back and draw a pair of light sabers. When your done toss them away it lets the subconscious know your not the
      least bit worried.

I have the same problem, to a lesser degree. It's difficult to stop thinking about what you don't want to happen. Personally It hasn't affected me In a long time (like since I was little)

There isn't anything I can do to stop the thoughts I have, but what helps is knowing that it is a dream and nothing can seriously hurt you at all.
Just following along with the dream really helps, as it proves this to be true. When I was little I dreamt of a dark cave mouth, and I was terrified that I would see a pair of eyes in the darkness. I spent ages looking into it, being scared they would appear, before I finally decided to make the eyes appear myself. I decided the outcome, which helped get me over it a bit (It was still pretty scary btw)

Maybe make the wolf attack you, then just stand up and walk it off. That kind of attitude builds confidence and will make it less of a problem, It's mainly about your mindset.

You could also do as coolymd suggests and just instantly annihilate anything you don't like xD
