No, you can't. From what I have seen, a weak psychological attack would break you down in pieces. I would say that made me laugh, but realised that would be mean and didn't laugh.

I'll eat your fingers, then I'll chop you up into pieces and send each piece into a different place where you get eating by animals. And then I'll cry because you said something mean to me

You say way more mean things to me than I do though, so we are even? Plus that kind of plan would get you killed in less than a second. But really, the point it is it would be really hard to prove there is a dream-existence. Of course I want to test this and am doing so, but alas, DV isn't mature enough for the experiment and it is taking place elsewhere.

But as you kill me I multiply and my warriors of separate sentience dog pile on top of you eating you alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want to here about your tests of "dream existence" Do you mean dream sharing? Have you had any confirmed two way remembered shared dreams?

On shared dreaming, yes. It is basically using SD as a mean to test reactions of DCs, something like that.
Also, you don't know how I fight, do you? If the enemy tries to multiply, there are several powers that will prevent from that happening.

I'm not going to explain dream powers... especially since two of these can be really long. Or if you are referring to the experiment, I'm not saying much of that until its done. Either way, I was being mean up there, I never understimate an opponent, no matter who it is.

This thread has lost some of it legitimacy due to lack of competition from any other perspective. As this thread needs one I will be temporary devils advocate. For starters, everyone is so dam sure of themselves on this thread, we don't know alot because of out spiritual memories being wiped when we came here, so what makes some of you think you know what's Really goin on and why you are you at this time on earth. How do u know that half of those dreams aren't just inside your head rather then "on some other realm where I was fighting this guy and I kicked his ass." evaluate your posiion closer next time, for I will admit I know nothing.....and I do. What about you?

Thought I and mario were working on that side, what happened? Or do we not count?

Ok, in the interest of moving this conversation forward, I will post from two points of view. One from mine, one from an imaginary character that I will call Phil. Phil is a completely non-Spiritual extremely scientific minded person, he doesn't believe in these entities at all.

Phil says:

well, scientifically minded people CAN be spiritual, i am an example of that. i refuse to blindly agree with anyone without evidence. however there is repeated evidence of spiritual things around, only some people don't notice it. something as complex and as extensive as this world we live in simply can't be accidental. spiritual entities must exist in some form or another, my only questions are are they actually in our dreams and are dreams real?

Examples of spiritual minded scientists are Descartes and Einstein. Although, it kind of tripped up Descartes due to his desire to prove God to be real. Look up the Cartesian Circle.

Anyways, still haven't had full control in an LD. Still intending to test spiritual things.

The only way to move forward is for people to post their results from their dreams. Everything else is just talking in circles.

You have a point, if anyone can LD on a daily basis try and summon one of us from this thread, I know I'd be happy to explore with you. Idk how summoning works or if it is even possible, but hey it's worth a shot. Cause nomad is right about us talking in circles

The first step in scientific process is to theorize, then experiment gathering massive amounts of data, then analyze the data, and do more experiments based on results until your theory (hypothesis, actually) is proven or disproven. This is a gross oversimplificaton of the process.

The first step is now complete. People have their theories and are not changing their minds. The only way for you (the plural you) to believe one way or another is personal experience. No matter what anyone says, or a group of people say, right now such phenomena such as shared dreaming is not being studied in the public scientific sector. So, everyone must find out for themselves.

So, whatever question you have about this or any other topic related to dreams, formulate into a dream goal. Let your dreams answer your questions. This is not easy, but nothing worthwhile is. Most people don't have the tenacity or patience. Some of your questions may take years to answer. There are no shortcuts. We do have aids, such as supplements and electronic devices, but there is no real shortcut to becoming a full fledged oneironaut. You must practice, practice practice.

I haven't fully read through this thread yet but anyways I noticed that someone recommended meditating with your eyes open to a flame and I wanted to point out that this is actually a terrible idea. You can go 'spot blind' if you meditate too long while having a flame in your field of vision and I'd feel really sad if someone embarked on their spiritual journey and went partially blind right away. That would be a rough lesson so quickly

I don't think a candle flame is strong enough to do that. At least, not one made out of generic wax.

Focal Meditation and Blindness

Um ya staring at fire doesn't make you go blind. You stare at camp fires right? Those are way brighter.

Well, most people gaze into fires, not stare intently at them. Still, you're probably gonna be fine. It beats staring into the sun.

I keep checking back on this thread, and the others in Beyond Dreaming and the Inner Sanctum, from time to time. My dreams have been scattered lately, and hard to recall. I'd be paying more attention to them, but real life calls. I'm suffering from the end-of-semester crunch, and I need to find an internship... bah, pesky real life always getting in the way, huh?

Here's my first official attempt at meeting a spiritual entity.

Meeting My Scary Spirit Guide

This was both scary and creepy. The entity was not at all like I expected it to be. There I was, thinking I'd have some benevolent female spirit guide and then that experience happened.

After the dream, I didn't want to fall back asleep. I was just terrified of seeing the entity again. What creeped me out the most was the vibe it gave off. The picture in the entry kind of gives off that vibe as well. The atmosphere that I felt when the entity came into my room.

I wanted to talk to it and ask it questions, but once I felt that vibe, I was completely distracted from everything I wanted to originally do. I just wanted to get out of the paralysis in my lucid dream or wake up. Whichever would have been the fastest. Because it felt SO real as it was happening, I was terrified. When I woke up, I felt as if this experience truly just happened.

I'll try again in my next lucid. My paralysis prevented me from truly being able to carry out my goals.
