Choi's Journey of the Conscious Mind

Here I write down my attempts and experiences from my nightly experiences (lucid dreams, Obe's and APing)

It sometime might look like I am trying to sell out my techniques, so I apologize for that. But it's just my way of writing it in order to motivate myself.

I personally hate "BEST TECHNIQUE THREADS" or technique threads at all for that matter, because I allways seem to put all my confidence and belief in the technique, but when I try it and fail I just blame myself... Instead of learning it my own way and put the confidence and believe in myself.

You can of course still read about techniques and methods, but just see them as guidelines and not bullet proof science. Believe me it's easy to get into that mindset.
And by the way, even science can be prooved wrong ;)

So be crtical while reading this.. I just hope that you learn from my experience the same way I have learned from others like:

Stephen LaBerge - lucidity.com
Tim Post - Lucidipedia.com
DreamWarrior - Wakeupinyourdreams.com
Michael Raduga - obe4u.com
Frank Kepple - Astral Pulse
My friends Fredrik, Tony and Philip
Thomas Campbell and Bob Monroe - The Monroe Institute
And all the great members of Dreamviews!

Enjoy!

1. Attempt 8: Peptalk!

by , 03-08-2012 at 09:54 PM (Choi's Journey of the Conscious Mind)
Now my mind is fully rested and I can hopefully stay aware on my ninth attempt.

One thing I remembered that I did before my two successful attempts, is that I tried to convince myself that the attempt is so important, that failure almost is equal death. And while I was chatting with my friend I wrote how much I wanted to succeed and so on. I have to succeed, to fully prove that WILD without prior sleep is possible.

So now for you DW I am going to bed. :D AND I AM GOING TO SUCCEED! :shadewink:

Either way I will see you tomorrow.. :P

2. Attempt 7: Bedtime

by , 03-07-2012 at 07:59 AM (Choi's Journey of the Conscious Mind)
Attempt 7:

My head hurts really bad, it almost feels like a hangover. But the reason for this pain is that I went to bed later than usual, some ehrm girls videocalled me on msn and we were talking for very long, so I ended up getting to bed 23.59...

I still did an attempt, and the weird thing is that I was actually very aware and it felt like it would be impossible for me to fall asleep. But then something else took over and just shut both the body and the mind down and I fell asleep in a blink.

Had very vivid and long dream that were like a totally new version of Harry Potter (porbably will write it down and get rich lol)

Anyway I will see if there is a good quote otherwise I will go and ZZzzz

3. Attempt 6: Pain and Itches

by , 03-06-2012 at 07:32 AM (Choi's Journey of the Conscious Mind)
This night I was really close!!!

I had spent a half an hour trying out different sleep postures. Haha might seem geeky but it's sooooo important, because if you lay still for hours and just have a little tiny feeling of that you are unfomfortable in some bodypart, you are eventually going to have to move.

I was laying on my stomach forming my arms to become a pillow and it felt comfortable at first, but after some time the elbow started to hurt...
Anyway I started out with focusing on my breathing and rising my awareness every now and then by looking up with my eyes on the spot in my forehead. I started to fall asleep and wake up as I eventually always starts to do.
I lay there for two hours and I know that because I heard my mom shutting off the tv in the other room and got to her room and she goes to bed the same time each night. I went to bed 22.00

I told myself "I am aware of when I fall asleep and I am aware of my dreams" then i started meditating.
After some awakenings I realised that my mind was perfectly clear and that I wasn't as aware of my body as usual.
But I could still feel it, but I could imagine myself standing up and almost feeling it, but then hell broke loose.
The tip of my nose started to itch really crazy and my right elbow was in an uncomfortable position, even though it was in the same position as I started in, but it started to hurt. I told myself that this was just my body testing me and that I had to endure! But eventually I gave up, even though the itches faded away, my elbow was still uncomfortable.
I turned over to my side and I still had closed eyes, and I fell asleep unconsciously. Although I remember the dream in perfect detail and I even heard a song that I had never heard before and I still remember the lyics!
It's a really bad song though, but still :)

I think that I was minutes away from dreaming, considering that I was so aware of the dream.

This night I am going to lay on my back and hopefully I don't feel pain this time.

And here is the Don Juan quote of the day:

- "What does it mean to pass the first gate of dreaming?"
- "We reach the first gate of dreaming by becoming aware of falling asleep, or by having, like you did, a gigantically real dream. Once we reach the gate, we must cross it by being able to sustain the sight of any item of our dreams."

- "I can almost look steadily at the items of my dreams, but they dissipate too quickly."

- "This is precisely what I am trying to tell you. In order to offset the evanescent quality of dreams, sorcerers have devised the use of the starting point item. Every time you isolate it and look at it, you gett a surge of energy, so at the beggining don't look at too many things in your dreams. For items will suffice. Later on, you may enlarge the scope until you can cover all you want, but as soon as the images begin to shift and you feel you are losing control, go back to your starting point item and start all over again."

- "Do you believe that I really reached the first gate of dreaming, Don Juan?"

- "You did, and that's a lot. You'll find out as you go along, how easy it'll be to do dreaming now."

So now you know :) The first gate of dreaming is crossed when you have a lucid dream!

4. Attempt 5: Intention

by , 03-05-2012 at 03:08 PM (Choi's Journey of the Conscious Mind)
Attempt 5:

This attempt I did end up falling asleep unconsciously. But my dreams were much more vivid than usual, and they are usually very vivid. So I was surprised when I woke up that I didn't become lucid. I am going to learn about the art of intending because that can probably help me getting aware of those dreams easier.

I have read a book called "The Art of Dreaming" by Carlos Castaneda.

It's about a guy learning how to become a sorcerer from a shaman named Don Juan.
I think that the guy who is learning actually is Carlos himself, but he never mentions that.
This guy is just like me a very rational thinker and Don Juan is doing what he can to make him realise the true knowledge.
I have read some other of Castanedas books, but they are usually about how drugs makes us see the real reality

So I liked this one about dreams better. I am going to use some quotes from him in order to understand dreams better.
And perhaps use some of the methods he describes.

- "I'm going to teach you how to set up dreaming"
- "What does that even mean?"
- "To set up dreaming means to have precise and practical command over the general situation of a dream. For example, you may dream that you are in a classroom. To set up dreaming means that you don't let the dream slip into something else. You don't jump from the classroom to the mountains, for instance. In other words you control the view of the classroom and don't let it go until you want to"
----
"There are seven gates and dreamers have to open all seven of them one at the time. You're up against the first gate that you must be opened if you are to dream"

"The first gate is a treshold we must cross by becoming aware of a particular sensation before deep sleep. A sensation which is like a pleasant heaviness that doesn't let us open our eyes. We reach the gate the instant we become aware that we're falling asleep, suspended in darkness and heaviness"

- "How do I become aware of that I am falling asleep? Are there any steps to follow?"
- "No. There are no steps to follow. One just intends to become aware of falling asleep"
- "But how does one intend to be aware of it?"

- "Intent is something very difficult to talk about. I or anyone else would sound idiotic trying to explain it. Bear that in mind when you hear what I have to say next: sorcerers intend anything they set themselves to intend, simply by intending it."

- "That doesn't mean anything Don Juan..."

-"Pay close attention. Someday it'll be your turn to explain. The statement seems nonsensical because you are not putting it in the proper context. Like any rational man, you think that understanding is exclusively the realm of our reason, of our mind."

Yeah it's a little hard to follow Don Juans lessons, but it's very inspiring and I hope to learn what he mean with my coming attempts. I will start to add some of his lessons here to make both you and me understand and follow what I will be experiencing.

So today I am going to create an intention to be aware of my dreams, but at the same time try to fall asleep consciously.

5. Attempt 3 and 4: Keep The Awareness

by , 03-04-2012 at 10:13 AM (Choi's Journey of the Conscious Mind)
First of all I am going to write down how the third attempt and I will also write down what I dreamt!

I had just finished reading Frank Kepples non-technique text and I chatted with my other natural astral projection friend, Tony. Then I went to bed layed down on my stomach with my head resting on my crossed arms, closed my eyes and focused on the spot in the center of my forehead.
I didn't focused on relaxation, because Frank wrote that it will come by itself. So I did what my friend Fredrik does, I daydreamed. I thought to myself that I took a big risk, because a wandering daydreaming mind can end up falling asleep unconsciously really easily. But I didn't!

I don't know how I did it it's just something you have to try and see if it will work the same for you.
I just concentrated the sight at that spot, even though it hurted a little bit at first, I soon started to get used to it.
I could even look straight forwars, but at the same time feel the awareness at that spot, so that was a little weird.
I started to see some flashes here and there and some figures in a fraction of second.

Then I just woke up and felt that my awareness was diffferent, and I just knew that I was dreaming!
I got out of my bed really excited! I looked at my hand and they were normal and it felt more real than usual, since I was almost perfectly clear in my mind and I could even remember things from the physical world, I thought to myself that this looks like one of my lucid dreaming wallpapers, where a hand is on a window. I tried to manipulate the form of my hands and they immediatelly changed shapes and I got shocked!

I started to scream for my "Dreamguide" or something like that, but I got no answer...

I looked out through my window and saw that my neighbours had a pool on the roof, I laughed because it was so random and I wanted to go there. So I went out from my room, I thought to myself that this might be the astral plane because it was so vivid and real. But I never turned around to look at my sleeping body... But now I think that it was just a dream.
But I am still happy =D I saw my parents sleeping in their room and was surprised over how real and stable they were.

I then walked out of my house and I wanted to fly. So I took pace and tried. But nothing happend... I then imagined the sensations of levitating and I felt my body rising towards the roof! I then started freezing, and my neighbours pool was frozen, so I started sliding on it haha. Then my dad yelled to me "Stop playing outside in the cold are you nuts?"
and I laughed and said "I'm sorry but I am dreaming, your not even real haha I can't believe that I am saying this!".
Then I considered to do a backflip down from the roof, but it was too scary even in the dream ...

This was the most vivid and real lucid dream I have ever had, I seem to say that alot. But I guess I am just progressing.

I will now try to explain the best I can how to focus the eyes, because that's the only thing I did to keep the awareness.
I could then think of whatever I wanted even wander my mind.

Ok this is how I position my eyes: behind closed eyelids of course. But for this exercise you have to have them opened obviously.

Hold your index finger in front of you and cross your eyes so you will make it go double. And then the next part is hard to explain, it's just something you have to "find" how to do on your own, or read crosseye viewing tutorials :P
So when you have crossed your eyes and see double, relax the eyes to make the two fingers move closer to each other and then readjust your focus to make your eyesight stable. If you do this right you will be able to see the image below in 3D!

I actually did my fourth attempt this morning. I was listening to 3 guided meditations in one sequence, and I did the eye focus awareness at the same time, and I never lost consiousnes!
And my body got extremely numb, but when I knew that I had layed there for 50 minutes my mom decided to get in and yell "Good morning my little heart" and let the sunshine in....

Anyway I was not mad, because now I know that awareness is easy for me if I use this focus.

I hope that it help someone. I will see you tomorrow :D
I will also try to remember as much of each stage as I can, so you will hear about the transition as well.

6. Attempt 3: 2 Hour Sleep WILD!

by , 03-04-2012 at 02:09 AM (Choi's Journey of the Conscious Mind)
Attempt 3:

Ok first of all I would like to thank Alyzarin, Ctharline, sinoblak, gab, 12padams, Linkzelda41, Phanes, Master G, my friend Fredrik and Frank Kepple for inspiring me and helping me achieve the impossible, when the rest of the world is against me. Haha sorry I am just so excited I just sleep for 2 hours. And thanks to all my readers :) I hope you find this post inspiring, I might rewrite it because now it's just poorly written by a tired guy.

Ok enough with the goofiness... :shadewink:

I did Frank's and Fredrik's third eye focusing technique.

Just close the eyes and look slightly upwards like the image above. haha!
Then relax and think of whatever you want to think of, because this neat trick will help you feel your awareness. Just make sure that you are in a comfortable position.

I did this and I daydreamed for sometime like my friend instructed. And I actually fell asleep over 10 times! But I allways seemed to regain awareness. Then the impossible happend.
I woke up in my bed and got out, because I somehow felt that I was not truley awake.
But this was different, this was too real to be a dream. I have had real dreams before but only in the moment I dreamt it and when I woke up I allways thought that I had imagined it, this time I still though it felt like reality even after I had woke up.
I looked at my hands and they looked normal, but I already knew at this point that I was dreaming, so I made then hands look weird with visualization. And I played around with that for a bit. Then some weird stuff happend.

I might tell you about it tomorrow, I have written it down on a paper, but I now I want back to sleep, I have only slept 2 hours after all ... But it was a very vivid and long dream so WILDing before bed will be more motivating now, when I have confirmed that it's possible.

I will go back to bed now, hopefully I can WILD again. That would be something huh? Ah man I am to tired good night. :sleepmeditate2:

7. Learning From A 20 Years Experienced Pracctioner!

by , 03-03-2012 at 07:23 PM (Choi's Journey of the Conscious Mind)
This post is about a guy named Frank Kepple and I just read a compilation of all his posts in a PDF document.
I thought instead of me redoing all trials and erors I could learn from his 20 years pracctise and forum activity!

He sais that he have been able to "Project" in 30 seconds and have had experienced that have last for some minutes to some hours.

Well his posts speak for themself so I will just quote him here:

"No, I'm not saying that at all. You do not "need" anything to project. Any physically and
mentally normal person already has everything they need in order to project.
You see, these days people are suffering Astral Information Overload. Problem is,
commercialism is taking over; books need to be sold, pages of information need to be created,
and so forth. Marketing works because, in essence, it fools you into thinking you "need" some
"thing" in order to be a better person, say, or to make your life more secure, or whatever.
Advertisements play on fear and greed and all kinds of circumstances and emotions so you'll
keep buying and buying and buying......
But don't get me wrong, I do realise where you are coming from. I just want to make clear the
big mistake I see people making, time and again, is they think they need some "technique" in
order to project. No, the act of projection is a totally NATURAL event.
However, what you DO need (or at least what most of us seem to need) is relaxation coupled
with a little meta-physical imagery. So as to kick-start the process of bringing ourselves to the
mental point where projection WILL happen (NOTE: The key word to remember here is "little").
Have you ever noticed that the sexiest pictures of women, the pictures that really stimulate the
most, tend to be the ones where they are NOT fully naked? That's because they tantalise the
mind and stimulate it into developing elements of creative fantasy in order to "fill the gaps".
Which, in turn, can very quickly stimulate an erection.
So the million-dollar question is: How can we "tantalise the mind" into stimulating projection?
Okay, the first thing we need to do is to simply relax. Not relax in any particular way necessarily.
No, all you need is to simply do nothing more than just lie down on your back and relax... what
could be more natural than that?
But what has happened is, the marketing-boys have latched onto this and have provided us with
an amazing plethora of so-called "techniques"... "Buy my latest Power Technique... No, buy my
Super-Power Technique... Hey, over hear, I've got a Super-Power Technique that doubles as a
10-Minute blah, blah, blah, Technique all rolled into one... No, listen to me, I've got the latest
Advanced Super-Duper Power Two-Minute Projection Blaster... and if that fails, next week
comes the very latest Projection BlasterII that's guaranteed to relax & project more than any
other, or your money back!"
And so it goes on, ad nauseum.
I was flipping through Astral Dynamics yesterday when I came across a section where problems
had occured from using the Rope Technique. One person ended up with a pile of rope on the
floor; another kept hitting the ceiling, and so forth. What these people have done is to develop
(or perhaps they already did have) brilliant powers of creative visualisation. But that is all they
have done.
Alright, maybe having such an attuned creative power will come in handy in their physical life.
Especially if they are a designer of some kind. But it is not at all necessary for Astral Projection.
In fact, I maintain that it can quite possibly interfere with the entire projection process.
Projection occurs when you shift your focal point of awarenes from behind your physical eyes
and move it upwards to the point I described in a previous post to this thread. That is really all
you need to do.
Your focal point of awareness is simply the part of your brain that gives you the five physical
senses of smell, touch, taste, hearing and eyesight. Plus, it allows you to think about things and to
remember events.
Right, so inside the front part of your brain, about where I told you to imagine the red dot, is a
portion of the brain that has the ability to see the Astral region(s). Imagine that the Astral regions
are the VHF FM waveband (in the UK it's 88 to 108 megahertz) and that the portion of the brain
I'm telling you about is an FM radio. But also imagine that this radio has no loudspeaker - just a
headphone outlet.
So now imagine a situation where the radio is switched-on and tuned to a station; and you are
standing next to the radio wearing a pair of headphones. But the headphones are not plugged in.
In other words, the radio is receiving and playing a signal; and you are standing there with
everything you need to hear it; but you can't actually hear anything... until... you do the simple
act of plugging in the headphones and bingo! Instantly you hear the station.
In the physical body, your focal point of awareness are the headphones. The part of the brain that
connects to the Astral is the switched-on radio. When you shift your focal point of awareness
upwards... you plug in the headphones.
It really is that simple.
So just lie back, relax, and imagine making that connection by using a little meta-physical
imagery. You can climb an imaginary rope, or imagine putting your sense of physical awareness
in an elevator, or anything like that will do. The simpler and the plainer it is the better.
Also, and this is HIGHLY EFFECTIVE, let your eyes roll back so they are looking upwards.
You see, this is SO HIGHLY EFFECTIVE because your focal point of awareness, when you are
awake, tends to follow the eyes. Point the eyes up, and your focal point of awareness goes...
At first, you may experience stress in the eye muscles. So relax them until the strained feeling
goes away and try again. Try to concentrate on not physically holding the eyes up. Just let them
roll back naturally. Which they WILL do after just a little practise.
You know when you are doing it right, because there will come an instant when suddenly you
thought you heard something; or maybe you thought you detected some kind of shadow or
movement. At which point the eyes will try to look. Which will have the effect of immediately
halting the process. So you will have to start again. This may happen quite a number of times at
first, but at least you will know you are on the right track!
So please, as a little experiment, put aside all thoughts of using any kind of technique. Simply lie
back, gently relax, and let your eyes roll back and imagine your awareness drifting upwards. It is
important that you take things very slowly, and handle your mind very gently. It is rather like if
you were physically handling a new-born baby. Think of the protective gentleness you would
feel towards that tiny new-born soul. Now imagine the same thing, but in mental terms.
Please always bear in mind: YOU CANNOT "MAKE" PROJECTION HAPPEN!!!
Successful projection is all about creating the right circumstances where you simply let it
happen. Understand that conscious-exit projection is a gentle and graceful process. The slightest
hint of any kind of mental harshness totally scuppers the whole thing!
Yours,

Frank"

By reading Frank's post I realise that my friend Fredrik was very accurate in his explanation and I am shocked over how he managed to figure this out all by himself. I understand now that there is no "TECHNQUE" that is bullet proof and all you have to do is actually to just hit a switch or shift your awareness. The problem is to find that switch...

I hope that you find his and this post inspiring. Now I just have to find my way to flick the switch!

8. Attempt 2: Sleeping posture

by , 03-03-2012 at 01:56 PM (Choi's Journey of the Conscious Mind)
I tried to fall asleep in a sleeping posture where I am sitting upright, bad move...

I got the sensations I had just before I my successful attempt, but since you have to be completely relaxed to attain that state it was next to impossible in this posture. My lower and upper body was completely relaxed, but not my neck... Try to fall asleep in a chair and see for yourself, it will end with you nodding your head forward and you will jolt awake.
And this was what happend to me, but in my bed.

On my next attempt I am going to lay in a position that my body can get completely relaxed in.

Even though I couldn't fall asleep consciously, I could still fall asleep unconsciously with no effort, so this did not end up in insomnia. When I fell asleep I had a vivid dream were my friend told me that I was dreaming, but for some strange reason I didn't listened to him and I did not become lucid...

Tonight I will try to lay on my side and if I fall asleep unconsciously I will lay on my back tomorrow.

See you!

Edit: I just took a nap and never lost consciousnes and that annoying saliva swallowing never showed up either. Maybe I was drooling haha, but there were not trace of it when I woke up anyway...
And I was laying on my stomach. So I will try that out first.

9. Attempt 1: Giving up

by , 03-02-2012 at 06:09 PM (Choi's Journey of the Conscious Mind)
Now when I know a way for me to at least make an attempt to sleep consciously. I am going to share my progress until I succeed again so you can learn as well. I need to follow my progress, but I wont write down my dreams.

Attempt 1:

I do this every night, not sure if that's good or bad, I had an extreme headache one day and I thought that it was because of my attempts, but my dad is a dentist and he made a quick diagnosis and the root of the problem was that I was gnashing my teeh in my sleep. So that's good news in a way. I mean it's not the attempt that gave me the headache.

Falling asleep unconsciously is not the problem right now, which is a big relief. Nothing disturbs me more than doing an attempt and doze of and then have to wait an entire day to make a new attempt...
But no, now I doze off and allways manage to regain consciousnes and awareness.

The problem is actually me giving up, and I can never remember why! I just give up in the middle of it.
My dreams are still vivid so I remember them upon awakening, but I don't recall them anymore, just making sure that my memory is strong enough to remember if I get a lucid dream or not. But now I actually remember about 10 dream scenarios each night, just because it's so vivid. It's odd that I don't get lucid in those weird dreams though, it's almost like being schizophrenic, just observing the actions of another persons life without realising that it isn't real.

Last night I had a really long dream about me drowning, so it was pretty scary.

Anyhow for the sake of once again proove to me that entering a dream consciously or experiencing an obe is possible (without prior sleep) I am NOT going to give up this night's attempt!

At least I hope that I wont...

10. WILD Before Sleep Is Possible!

by , 02-28-2012 at 05:41 PM (Choi's Journey of the Conscious Mind)
WARNING!

The technique I will describe now takes effort, and if you fail it might result in insomnia...

Ok this might be my last journal entry, but I want to share the method to help you guys succeed.
And it must be added that this is not a new technique, this is what every WILD guide explains, but this is my version because it took some time to learn it... And I still need to pracctise it.

I have already told you about this method in an old thread that can be found here:
http://www.dreamviews.org/f79/my-friends-natural-wild-technique-123506/

But I will explain it in a little more detail and add some new things that he have told me and that I learned from.
First of all I have to tell you that he is not a lucid dreaming pracctioner or anything like that.
When he was a little kid he invented this method to fall asleep and cure his insomnia!

Last night I tried his method and I managed to come to the point where I could no longer feel my physical body.
But I was still aware of my breath, my eyes and my thoughts.
I started visualizing a random house and walked around in it, and at one point I felt my consciousness switching and suddenly I were there. I was now lucid and was amazed of consciously entering a dream without previous sleep.
I walked out from the house and the dream ended up like all my lucid dreams seem to end... I lost lucidity while talking to someone. Although I was still aware of the dream so I remembered the whole dream and it was a long vivid dream.
It felt like more than 30 minutes, but as you all know it's impossible to have vivid REM dreams for more than 15 minutes.
So I am not sure how to think of that. ( Mind creation? Doesn't matter had sex, I mean time dilation :cheeky: )

Anyway today I asked my friend Fredrik to tell me about his falling asleep technique again, and this is what he told me:
Well the goal is to fall asleep, but what I do is that I lay still with closed eyes and focus on my breath and I focus my vision between my eyebrows and keep it there. Then I will feel my body slowly getting more and more relaxed, I will feel the tingeling start from my legs and work it's way up. Then I just keep having this meditative state and I will at some point not be able to feel my body anymore and my mind is calm without thoughts, and the only thing that remains is my breath.
I sometimes stop right here, because the next step is really scary, but I really want to fall asleep so I have to do it...
When my only awareness is the breath, I take a deep breath and then gradually slow the breath down and make it smaller and now the scary part. After a while I will no longer feel my breath and it feels like I am going to die!
But if I just stick with it I know that I am going to fall asleep. Then something strange happens.
I start to see a bright white light and I will get a sensations of levitating and I just keep floating up and when that sensation stop, I am and up in the clouds and here I just relax as much as I can and I fall asleep, and then I wake up the next morning feeling completely rested.

I was shocked and asked him "Why the H*LL don't you stay aware so you can lucid dream?!".
And he answered "Oh I wouldn't want to risk having insomnia after waiting and doing all that, the goal is to fall asleep after all".

And I was like :panic: GAAAH!!

I tried to convince him in every way possible, but it was no use he wasn't interested in lucid dreams.

Anyway I on the other hand can use this knowledge to my advantage and now you can too :shadewink:

Just gong to add some tweaks. Because I did this last night, but I wasn't aware of the breath method, he told me about that today.

I have experienced most of the steps he described, although the eyefocus thing isn't really necessary that's just his anchor and he relax that way. As long as you stay still and stay aware you will still be able to do this, the meditative pure consciousness states comes naturally, you can even think of what ever you want. The problem is just that a wondering mind can easily make you fall asleep unconsciously. I do this by listening to a guided relaxation so that's my anchor :)

One thing that might be painful to hear is that I timed this and it took about 1 hour to do.
Although it didn't feel booring at all, I was excited the whole time :)

The reason to why I will not write down my dreams here anymore is personal. I have realised that they tell too much about a person, even though the dreamer is the only one who can analyse them. So that's one reason.
The other reason is that they are annoying to write down in the morning :P

I have also started believing in obe's and astral projection and I know most people are sceptic, but just try this:

This is just a theory but when I did this technique and realised that I was no longer able to feel my body, I started visualizing and I ended up in a dream. Because I was focusing on my thoughts.

My friend Fredrik on the other hand, he focused on the (body) and the feeling of breathing and I think that he actually got an out of body experience.

I am not going to argue about these phenomenons, because frankly that's something that is up to the person who experiencing it to decide. I'm just hoping that this text helped someone :D

It will take time, but if I some day(night) manage to control the dream and make it last longer and being able to go to Hogwarts or something like that. I might post in this journal about it ;)

Thanks and bye for now!

11. How to fall asleep unconsciously and dream consciously. DILD/MILD

by , 02-20-2012 at 09:59 AM (Choi's Journey of the Conscious Mind)
I just made my BODY fell asleep consciously without pre-sleep. This is not a WILD, this is a strong intention MILD.
Is it so weird really? To fall asleep consciously just means that I am aware of my body shutting down.

I will not tell you what to do step by step, because there is only one step really, laying still with closed eyes and wait.
But I will tell you what I felt.

I went to bed laying on my back and I just started to relax. After a while salive started to build up in my mouth, but I just swallowed it, I am trying to fall asleep not get sleep paralysis, so it didn't matter. So I did not had to care about the mind awake body asleep concept, I just wanted my body to get completely relaxed while I was aware.

I thought to myself "I am aware of my dreams and I remember my dreams".

I did the 61 point relaxation technique, but it doesn't really matter what kind of focus you have as long as you are laying still and are aware. I have pracctised to be able to lay still for a long time with the help of tons of guided relaxation meditation mp3:s. And to be aware is not that hard when you are.

I looked at my alarmclock before starting all this and it was 22.10

I felt my body vibrating slightly, ok not vibrating but it feels like its getting petrified. Hard to explain, but lay down still for a few minutes and you will get what I mean.

After some time I started to feel my nose itch like crazy and I just pretended that this was my body testing if I was asleep.
It was hard to ignore this, but if I just let it itch for 10 seconds, it faded away gradually.

When the itch vanished I nod off for a short second for a couple of times and I knew that I was close to fall asleep.
Then my whole body got warmer and my mind felt calm and tranquil.

I now knew that my body was asleep and I tried to let the mind fall asleep by setting my intention to fall asleep as you do when you normally go to sleep. Go to bed now and try to fall asleep, that feeling is what I tried to create at this point.

I let myself fall asleep unconsciously now.
I then started to dream, but I was not lucid, but I was very aware of it happening.

I got out of bed and started my computer. I heard my mom saying something in the other room. I walked out of my room and I saw my dad laying on the carpet in a weird bodyposition and I saw my mom.
I thought this was weird so I decided to make a reality check. Sadly the reality check didn't worked so I am going to start using another during the day, to make sure that I get lucid next time. I looked at my hand and it looked crooked and did not looked normal. But I just thought "Hmm this might be a dream, let's do another reality check".
I checked my pulse and I could feel it, nothing odd here...

The dreamscene changed and I followed Mr. Bean in third person view. Then the setting started to change rapidly, I was writing a letter then I was flying over a town, and then I was Emil from Astrid Lindgren's books.

I had a flower that I took care of and the dream was just about me as Emil talknig with the flower. Then I went up to a house and from the window I saw a women stealing the flower. I shouted on Alfred and we run out looking for this women. When we found her, I noticed that she was qute good looking and Alfred started to flirt with her instead.
Weird dreams, but then I woke up.

I did a reality check, I was awake. Now I looked at the time and it was 00.26. I got excited of this attempt, because I had done a MILD, waited to lapses of consciousness and been aware of the dream as soon as it started.
I was not aware in the sense that I knew I was dreaming, but I was aware enough to experience the dream and I if the reality checked had worked I would have become lucid.

This means that if I had got lucid, it would have been in the first sleep cycle.

I will try this the next night as well and until then I have to figure out a better reality check.

I will try to give you a small step by step guide of how I did:

1. Lay still in your bed with closed eyes.
2. Tell yourself your mantra.
3. Feel your bodyparts gradually get relaxed. (swallow your saliva if you have to, you are not aiming for SP!)
4. If you are aware enough you will get lapses of consciousness (You are then on the right track!)
5. I heard a beeping noise in my ears.
6. I fell asleep and was more aware of my dream.
7. Have a reality check ready that works...

The key is the mindset:

Don't care what happens, just stay still and remember that you don't aim for sleep paralysis so don't look for that, instead try to feel the different sensations that your body will give you.

The advantage of this, is that I have control of the attempt and that I don't need a WBTB, instead I can do the attempt at my regular bedtime!

When I woke up from this dream I turned the lights on an wrote down all this, which resulted in that I couldn't fall back to sleep...

But eventually I did, and I had these dreams:

I were in one of Lady Gagas musicvideos and it was about her having extremely long hair which was almost like a long rope. And me and some other people were pulling in the hair for some reason.

Then I dreamt that I could fly and the dream consisted of my trying to control that flying.

In the next dream I was playing soccer and I was talking to my friends Maja and David, I remembered the conversation upon awakening, but I seem to have forgot it now...

I also remember that I had a dream about Harry Potter, but I can't remember what happend in that dream.

Before I woke up I remember that I had a dream about me being a member of a gang and we robbed a bank, but I got caught.

Tonight I am going to use indirect techniques upon awakening to see if I am non-physical (dreaming) or not.

12. Just one of the ways to DEILD

by , 02-18-2012 at 06:27 PM (Choi's Journey of the Conscious Mind)
I have decided to continue sharing my dreams here. I have learned new things and learned better ways to improve my chance of lucidity and maybe the real secret of WILD, ok maybe not, but it feels like no one ever talks about it.

I will be sharing my dreams, ideas and progress here.

I will now share the best guides about lucid dreaming there is!

In two years of pracctise I have finally learned the mindset of lucid dreaming - learn from unsuccessful attempts and don't get discouraged by them. I learned this from:

Lucidipedia - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrV4vEDPkB0 - The Mindset of the lucid dreaming pracctise and much more.

Then I learned why lucid dreaming techniques works and what happens in the brain while doing them.
So by knowing that, it's easier to have the confidence on succeeding.
(It might be hard to follow exactly what he sais, but rewind and listen again, this is gold!)

DreamWarrior - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RFQUDlIAUM - The Science of lucid dreams.

And then I discovered the perfect guide of how to DEILD. Now I have learned to easily have atleast 1 lucid dreams per week (Fairly often) with the use of indirect techniques, which is techniques performed upon awakening to see if you are close the dream or the phase as the author calls it. Check out the free ebook at www.obe4u.com

Michael Raduga - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FysT50Ap0XU&feature=related - The best lucid dreaming method according to me.

Now with these three combined I am unstoppable. :)

And last but not least, the secret of how to WILD.

If you watched DreamWarriors videos you understand that the best technique to get aware of a dream is the WBTB so you get a REM-REBOUND. Then you can make a WILD attempt.

But the thing is that many people think that the goal is to attain "sleep paralysis" in order to have a lucid dream.
But the goal is to D R E A M. To be able to dream we have to fall asleep, otherwise it would be called hallucination...
And today I read in the SOBT and watched a video on wilding from lucidipedia, which changed my view on wilding.
Instead of focusing on keeping the awareness on one single thing for an eternity, which probably wont make you dream because it's not in even in the dream nature to be focused and stable, your goal should be to fall asleep for a short second, minute, hour and THEN regain awareness and consciousness again.

So how do we do that?
Actually I don't know... :P But what I do know is that this have happend to me many times before, that I focus on WILDing and suddenly I just doze off, but somehow I regain awareness again. But when this happend I treated the attempt as a failure and I wasn't aware of that this is when I should have looked for non-physical signs with indirect techniques.
So it's basically feels like a DEILD, but it actually isn't, it is not a DREAM EXIT or DREAM CHAIN, because what we are actually doing is waking up in the dream and using indirect techniques to see if we are non-physical (dreaming) then we just get out of our dreambed.
And that sounds good right? Instead of focusing on staying still for hours, you sleep through the attempt and start at the end.

So the secret of WILD is to aim for lapses of consciousness, because these are opportunities to DEILD more effectively.
I will tell you about all of my coming attempts from now on.

Good luck to you and I will see you tomorrow :)

15. Every Kind of Dream!

by , 11-14-2011 at 07:39 AM (Choi's Journey of the Conscious Mind)
Lucid
Dream
Thoughts
Hypnagogic

I dreamt that I were in a skyskrape and in some way I realised that I was dreaming. I wasn't completely sure, but my awareness felt different so I took a chance. I was working for a booring boss, so I opened a window and told him to watch, then I ran against it and jumped out and I flew! I became lucid and the clearity was incredible and, well let's just say that I was relieved that I was dreaming. Then my biggest lucidity enemy appeared - a hot girl... I thought to myself and also told her to get away. But I couldn't control it. I imagined just for a small second what I was able to do with her, and I was teleported to that thought and I lost my lucidity.

I also had nightmare! Wohoo first in very many years. But it wasn't fun to experience it though.
I was sitting with my family and eating dinner, when suddenly a man crush our window and step in, my parents ran, but I thought that if he i in our kitchen he can grab a knife and I can't let that happen. But it was too late...
He chased my mom and he was about to kill her when I grabbed one of the small knifes and pointed it in his back and said "Stop right there, let her go!" He did as I said, my mom got away, but he grabbed my arm and took my knife and pointed both of them to my throat. I managed to run, but now he was chasing me, eventually het got me, but I grabbed is arm and pointed the knife to him and this time I didn't hesitated. I stabbed him it was selfdefence I thought.
To big cuts in his stomach and I was still holding the knife. I told my dad to call the police.
I was in shock, and suddenly the man pulls out his knife and he stab me in the chest.
I feel a sensation of dizziness, and then I faint.

Which means that i woke up .. puh
