LD 120 - Gliding and Flying Again
After struggling to fall asleep again, I sink into my thoughts about my sister keeping a vlog on youtube, which happened in a previous dream. While thinking about commenting on the videos and stuff, a dream has formed around me. I’m gliding on the floor of an empty apartment and spinning too. I’m in a resting position like in waking life, but just spinning and gliding. Suddenly I’m outside on a sunny day, gliding on a street through a city. My thoughts rationalize slowly that I must be dreaming.

I continue to glide down the street until a store stops me. I don’t want to go inside again, I remember struggling to get outside in previous lucids. I stand up and start flying over the city. I cross over a small river and notice there’s a dark spot covering half of my vision. It’s my waking life hand that’s resting on my face. I try to ignore it and make it go away, but I focus on it too much and wake up.

    2. Two scifi dreams

      by , 12-08-2019 at 11:57 PM (Letaali's Dream Journal)
      Cauliflower Spaceship
I'm far away in space and in the far future. I'm on a massive spaceship that was damaged from the inside, by a battle I think, I can't recall. I'm explaining to the crew that a chemical reaction near the engines created oxygen that was leaking to the fuel line, making us go way faster than we should. We were way off course, doomed to be lost in space as our ship was damaged.

Suddenly our ship is destroyed. We have spacesuits on and float through space uncontrollably. I see an alien ship, it looks like a cauliflower. The front of it splits into 6 triangular pieces that open up to reveal a massive swirling portal inside the ship. We fall straight into the portal and find ourselves falling to an alien planet. Somehow we land safely. We are in an alien city that looks to be very advanced technologically. On the side of the road there's a booth that gives you a shower and new clothes instantly. I try it out and in a flash, my skin is dripping wet and I have a brand new suit on that's still warm like it was just ironed out. There's another smaller machine that creates coffee from some sort of recycling. It looks bad and smells like poop, which makes throw up before I even taste it. Dream ends.

      Memory-erasing hostile aliens
I'm with army friends next to a big lake that is unfamiliar. This location doesn't look like Finland. There is a mountain range behind us that the other soldiers turned to sand with some bizarre weapon. Then the dream gets confusing, because we encounter aliens that eat memories. I can only recall quick moments of action. We were driving in jeeps, most likely leaving the lake. Another moment there is a towering alien with no facial features, like a silhouette, standing in front of us. We start firing at it, but my memory cuts there. I recall the alien firing a green plasma orb.

Suddenly I'm standing on the road leading to my childhood home. The gaps in my memory terrify me. The aliens are using my worst fear against me. The streets are empty. I run to the house and turn on the TV. The news make no mention of the aliens. No one else can remember them, even though they could be everywhere. My brother is in the house and sees my worried look, asking what's going on. The fear wakes me up and persists even while awake. Takes a moment for me to realize that it's safe now.
    3. Mother Nature Sings

      by , 11-19-2019 at 09:50 AM (Letaali's Dream Journal)
I'm Spider-man. I'm fixing something in Manhattan-like city with Flik, the ant from a Pixar movie. Wind picks up and carries with it a soft female voice. The voice sings a single word "Tornado". I quickly turn around and see a powerful tornado coming towards me. I start web slinging away, but stop between two skyscrapers to look back. I'm worried for my friend and other people on the street. I see them running, but I have no time to worry about them anymore. The buildings next to me are starting to fall apart from the top, the tornado rips one of them apart completely. The collapsing skyscraper is about to bury me, but I escape with a quick web sling.

    4. LD 114 - Eyes open again

      by , 03-01-2019 at 02:41 PM (Letaali's Dream Journal)
I'm looking at a post on the internet, a beautiful garden of someone. After admiring it long enough, I try to scroll past. I can not. I try to look away at the screen. I CAN NOT. "Dreaming" says my logical processor. I've been here many times before, it can no longer fool me. Something like this only happens in dreams. I curse my bad luck, having a lucid dream during my midday nap when there's too much light in the room.

Time for experiments. Moving feels like forcing myself, so I fix that by reminding myself that's an illusion. Moving in dreams is effortless, my situation just makes me believe I'm paralyzed. I roll out of the bed. For a moment I see something different in my left eye, but the vision snaps back to the ceiling of my room, which I misunderstood as a garden previously. I try to abandon visual input and focus on feeling. I vividly feel myself rolling off the bed and I continue rolling. I keep on rolling and still I can't escape the ceiling in my vision, the real stimulus is just too powerful to ignore. I try harder to push myself out of that experience, like sinking into a daydream while awake.

I "wake up" the garden post is scrollable now and while I read people's comments on it, I'm also exploring the garden in person, being in two places at once.
Shortly after I actually wake up.

(I sleep with eyes open, so this happens sometimes.)
    5. LD 112 - Shattering Galaxy

      by , 01-12-2019 at 07:36 AM (Letaali's Dream Journal)
I'm standing on the edge of a massive disc surrounded by a sea of stars. I look along the curve of the disc and see massive shards of the disc floating around slowly. The shards look like broken glass. I can see Saturn in one of the shards. I realize the disc I'm standing on is the Milky Way galaxy. It's breaking apart, which is alarming. My dad appears and we talk about this impending doom.

"We can't escape in time without help." I state.

He agrees, we have no means of safely travelling away from our galaxy. We would need help from a more advanced alien race. I fall on my back and the disc acts like a trampoline, softening my fall. I stare at all the stars and notice one of them flickering. It moves slowly and then suddenly falls close by with a loud boom. I get up and approach the object.

I become lucid, not sure what triggered it. The object that fell was a small four legged robot, reminding me of a dog. "X-12" was written with small pieces of tape on it's side. I assumed this robot was sent to help us off the disc. The robot dog started to hop in one direction slowly and I followed. I decided not to speed things up and just see where this would lead, but I was worried. I worried that I would wake up before anything meaningful happened, because the dog was so slow. I checked my body to focus more on the dream. I was completely naked and parts of my body were numb. My surroundings had changed a bit, the robot hopped past several beds with my family sleeping on them. The dream ended after a while of following the robot dog.

Mistakes were made. I need to stop this carefree "lets see what happens" attitude and start actively guiding the dream again. Still happy to have lucid dreams.

    6. LD 111 - One-eyed Cat

      by , 01-02-2019 at 01:22 AM (Letaali's Dream Journal)
      1.1

      LD 111 - One-eyed Cat
I approach the front yard of my grandma's house. It's a warm summer day and there is a cat sleeping outside, in front of the house. It's a black cat with two large brown areas on both sides of the body, the colors change gradually, no stripes. The cat also has only one massive eye that is completely black, which I see as the cat wakes up on my arrival. I need no further proof that I'm dreaming, thanks cat.

I walk past the house and towards the forest behind it. The cat follows behind me. There is a fence and a gate that I try to phase through a few times, but no luck, seems solid. I open it instead and dream kindly lets me pass, even though I was doubting it for a moment. On the other side of the gate there's a small dirt path that goes around the forest a bit, not really used for anything. I walk into the pine forest and focus on what I feel. I feel a warm breeze. I pick up a pine cone and focus on it's texture for a moment before deciding to taste it. I thought that I hadn't really tasted much of anything in my dreams lately so it was high time for that. The pine cone tasted horrible, close to what it would taste in waking life I assume, very earthy taste. I snap awake.

    7. LD 108 - Donuts and LD 109 Bifrost teleporter

      by , 09-16-2018 at 06:41 PM (Letaali's Dream Journal)
      12.9

      LD 108 - Donuts
I was at a hotel. There was an old guild mate playing on a laptop in lobby. I talked to him about someone messaging me in-game, trying to get into the guild. I went outside the hotel. Gloomy weather, gray sky and not too warm. Some of my friends were grilling some food near the hotel. I joined them for a bit, before returning to the hotel.

I found myself in the wrong hotel room. The lights were off and the room was actually like 10 rooms. It was a massive place. Scene changed abruptly again.

I'm suddenly in my parents' place. I'm in the living room and a donut suddenly appears next to me. I grab it. Then I notice that the kitchen is full of people. My family is there along with several DCs I don't recognize. A man creates a doorway in the kitchen and I'm supposed to chase him. I can't move from where I am. All the DCs cheer me on. I try to teleport. Just willing it to happen does nothing. I throw the donut and try to teleport to it. It fails too. I close my eyes and visualize the frozen planet.

I "wake up" exactly where I was. Now there's only my family in the kitchen and no random DCs. I start talking about the previous dream. Dad asks questions about it and I explain things like dream control and stuff.

      16.9

LD 109 - Sword fight with Bifrost teleporter (All the excitement happens non-lucid.)
I'm not myself, but an asian man with a superpower. It's a blood-related power, allowing me to turn myself into a blood-like liquid and engulf people to absorb them. My power is gentle, I do not harm anyone I absorb and can release them later.

The dream starts on the backyard of my parents' place. I sense danger and prepare for a fight. I'm a master swordsman so of course I have a katana. A blinding beam of light comes down from the sky with a booming sound. I recognize this to be the Bifrost. My foe appears from the light, a massive man similar to the last villain from Bleach: Yhwach. Our fight begins and he tries to overpower me with his sword. I'm stronger than him and easily parry each attack. He has the Bifrost and dances between new beams of light that he opens and closes effortlessly to teleport around me as he keeps attacking. Each time he teleports, I hear a boom as a new beam of burning rainbow light appears closeby. This sound gives me time to react and the fight goes on. When I'm about to be hit, I turn into my blood form to dodge. Since we both have powerful abilities to dodge damage, the fight doesn't end.

Scene changes. I'm in a gloomy post-apocalyptic world filled with zombies. I'm still the asian man with the absorbing power. False memories tell me that there are others with similar power, but I've engineered mine so that it doesn't destroy absorbed targets. I fight my way through a building full of zombies, looking for a man. The building is tall and I find the man on a floor 9 or something. I hold the door as zombies try to get in. The man looks like Terry Crews. He's a scientist and has a glowing magic wand. It looks like it's made from lightning. The window seems to be our only way out. I tell him to jump with me as I take the wand and get outside. When I'm already hanging outside the window, the man turns evil and tries to take back the wand he gave me. I don't give it back. I leave the man to deal with the zombies and I jump. As I fall, I try to fly. I fail, but I land safely. I'm surrounded by zombies. I try to fly again and fail.

Failing to fly reminds me of lucid dreams and I become lucid. "I'm dreaming!" I tell myself while looking at a horde of zombies around me. I want to improve my dream control and decide to start by recalling my waking life. I'm hoping that would improve lucidity. While I focus on recalling waking life stuff, I lose the dream.

Yeah, should just focus on the dream. I'm also pretty much over my flu so that should be good for dreams.

      Fragments

-Winter, in a bus with dad and brother. Dad drove, I told him where to go.

-Sister and kids. At my parents' place. Outside there were kids playing around with lawn mowers and sleeping on a running lawn mower. I tried to get them to stop.

    8. Moon Gem

      by , 09-09-2018 at 02:59 PM (Letaali's Dream Journal)
      8.9

Fragment 1 - I'm in Pori. The city is flooded. Lots of students around. There's dead sea life scattered around, dolphins and a narwhal at least. We are not allowed to get close to them.

Fragment 2 - Tuomas was doing homework for functional programming with us. He's one of the assistant teachers for the course, so it was strange.

      9.9

      LD 107 - Moon Gem
I'm in a setting reminiscent of Indiana Jones movies. I'm exploring an ancient, lost temple with two characters from well known Finnish movies. Uuno Turhapuro and Tuura. We found the clues that would lead us to the treasure, but I found something on my own. The temple had a room so well hidden that I'm not sure it was accessible by any normal means. I spontaneously teleported into the room. Unlike the regular moss-covered stone that the rest of the temple was made of, this room was clean, dark and slightly blue stone. Something gave the room a blue glow, allowing me to see. There were two ancient beings in the room. The room had two side chambers and stairs that led to an altar. The ancients were friendly and freely gave me the last missing piece for finding the treasure. It was a moon made of many colorful gem pieces.

I found myself back with Uuno and Tuura, but as we were leaving the temple, we ran into bad guys. We tried to remain hidden, but my equipment, some flashlight...goggles or whatever, made noise. They were turning on and off without my control. The bad guys caught me. I felt fear and my thoughts instantly went to gaining control. "I'm dreaming!" I told myself in an attempt to gain control over the fear. I lifted my hand towards the bad guys and tried to make them disintegrate. No luck, I had no control over the situation at all. The bad guys then made my buddies tell them everything. They didn't reveal anything about my moon gem. Without thinking, I mentioned it. My friends were angry. I cursed and tried to turn back time. Again, no luck with dream control. I lost lucidity and fell into some abstract, possibly nrem, dream.

Dream 1 - Just enjoying a nice meal

I'm at my parents' place, in the kitchen. My brother has a visitor, a man I don't know. I eat ham, potatoes, carrot casserole, diced and steamed carrots and sweet potatoes. It's something you would serve for Christmas here. It's great. I don't really do anything else but eat and listen to my brother talk with a stranger in the other room.

      Fragment 1

A DC told me her dream. It was a nightmare where the world was ended by a strange biological weapon. I saw this like a vision: cities covered in white web-like stuff. The DC told me the weapon killed 50% of all life.

      Fragment 2

I see a game. Characters have some fight on a train at night. The train isn't moving. Supernatural things happen. At one point I think I was manipulating the dream too. This was Kojima's new game, false memories told me.

Re-adjusting my sleep atm. Recall will get better.

    10. Interview in a Dream

      by , 08-26-2018 at 05:43 AM (Letaali's Dream Journal)
I go to a grocery store. There's many empty shelves. I look at some donuts closely. Really want to buy one, but I manage to stop myself. Julia from university is selling these pastries. She's also eating one. We have a short chat, apparently there's a new donut hitting the shelves tomorrow. The name of it was confusing me.

Scene changes, I'm at my childhood home and plan to interview someone in their dream. I have a DC in on this with me. Suddenly I'm interviewing the person. I pick something from the table and tell them it's a tarot card deck. I'm going to tell tell them their future. The black deck keeps changing when I look at it. I expected this, because I know I'm in a dream. But I still believe the previous dream to be real, so I still act like the person I was in that dream and not myself. I have no memory of my actual lucid dream goals or my actual waking life, so I don't feel lucid and wouldn't call this a lucid dream.

When I look up from the cards again, the scene has changed. I'm sitting in the living room and the person I'm interviewing is outside, under the apple trees. I pick a card. It's a queen in a long dress sitting on a fancy chair. There's a dark box under the art and a line of text. "Lust..." I only read the first word. The text wasn't going to help with my BS. I place the card face down on the table and lie what it was. I ask the person what their worst moment with their parents was. Just came up with that on the spot, I didn't even know what to ask.

While they were answering, suddenly they disappeared, leaving only clothes behind. I look around me for my DC partner, another pile of clothes like some odd scarecrows. They had woken up. I saw a wave of energy hit me and I woke up too. These strange scarecrows were still around. I tried to hide them before they guy I was interviewing would see them.
    11. Expedition to a freezing alien world + LD 106 - Lego Aliens

      by , 08-25-2018 at 09:13 PM (Letaali's Dream Journal)
Expedition to a freezing alien world

I'm on a massive spaceship. It's like a little moon, absolutely huge. We've made our way out of the Milky Way galaxy and reached a system we want to explore. We haven't encountered life yet, but the first planet we land on is extremely hostile.

We lose half of the crew instantly, systems are dying all around the ship. I pilot one shuttle and a crewmate pilots another. We have to fly to another part of the ship now that the systems are dead. Outside the ship there's a storm and the temperature is just some odd Kelvins, it's incredibly cold. I watch the wind slamming the other shuttle down to a liquid nitrogen "river" that the storm has created. I hear the pilots screams as the shuttle is quickly destroyed. I struggle to get to my destination too. Seems like this is the end.

Then the dream skips. I'm inside the ship again, with one of the last surviving crew members, a strong willed woman. We are in the medbay and she tells the computer to unlock the vampiric systems. I have no idea what that means. I notice a futuristic blood pressure monitor and test it out. When I activate it, the wrap cuff builds itself around my arm. My blood pressure and pulse are pretty high.

LD 106 - Lego Aliens Personal goal attempt #18
I'm a massive observer in space around Earth. I'm bigger than the planet. I see a space station in Earth's orbit and a portal opens far away. Aliens from another galaxy are invading. Instead of using weapons, the alien ships slam one by one into the station's shields. The shields hold, but the alien ship just make a big loop like a boomerang and hit it again. This repeats until the shields are destroyed and the station starts falling apart.

Awareness rises from my subconscious. It's like a whisper saying "You're dreaming" gently reached me. Lucidity changes the scene. I find myself in my childhood home, in the kitchen. The alien ships from before are floating in the kitchen. They look to be made from legos. I raise my hand towards them and try to pull them apart. One of my goals is to use dream powers without any unnecessary tricks. I can't do it. I sit down to meditate. I tell myself out loud "I'm a lucid dreamer" and try to remind myself of my role in the dream. My thoughts are not focused though. I get up and try destroy the ships again. They shrink down. Good enough for me. I crush one of the ships with my foot for good measure.

Alright, time for my personal goal. I first think I should go outside, but rethink and just go to the closest door. It's the door to my brother's old room. I close it and imagine the Frozen Planet being on the other side. I enter without looking, one bare foot first. I want to feel snow before I look. I do feel snow, but when I look, it's just the backyard covered in snow. I close the door and try again. I look behind me and focus for a second on all the details of the dream. Beautifully detailed. I see through the other windows that there's now snow outside. I step through the door again with one foot. I feel snow and look in, now it's a dark, unfamiliar room with broken windows and snow blowing in through ragged curtains. Since I don't recognize it, I believe this is it. This room is on the Frozen Planet! All I need to do is to go through the wall to see the planet. I wake up.

    12. Intruders + Control Your Fear

      by , 08-24-2018 at 12:00 PM (Letaali's Dream Journal)
I decided before sleeping that one of my goals is to learn to control fear. I've struggled with it in lucid dreams. Ask and you will receive...

      Intruders
I falsely awaken to hear two guys moving in the apartment. They are moving towards my room. I feel fear. I want to get up and defend myself, but my body is paralyzed. I see the rest of the dream in 3rd person as I fight the paralysis, but simply cannot move. I struggle to the point of waking up.

      Control Your Fear
I'm a researcher and studying how small animals deal with all kinds of stressful situations. I handle many dead rodents. We basically torture them. I don't feel like I belong there, I don't agree with any of it.

Scene changes a bit, now we are studying the same thing with human prisoners. One of them has secretly been eating burnt wood, chewing it into a strange paste that he has made into some kind of armor. He seems to also be immune to electricity. Our weapons don't shock him when he eventually escapes.

Scene changes. I'm in my parents' place, but the house has many more corridors and rooms. One room in the center is different. It's built for food storage I guess, but it's relatively empty. Monsters start appearing from that room. These demons are large, pale, winged humanoids. Their arms and legs are extremely long and skinny. Their fingers are sharp and long claws. They have no eyes.

I spend a week fighting them. I lock the storage room's door the first time I see one inside, but these demons haunt me no matter what. When I close my eyes, they are waiting. I assumed they come from my dreams, but eventually they start appearing when I'm awake. One day I kill one of the monsters and leave it in the storage room. Moments later I open the door and right at the door, towering over me is another one. I stare at it and tell myself it's not real. I swipe at it with my hand, imagining it to be like a mirage that would vanish. It takes effort, but I manage to make that one disappear with willpower.

I'm sleeping in my parents' bedroom to keep them safe. They can't see the monsters. It's night and my dad wakes up. He asks me about these monsters. I tell him that I've been fighting them for a week and how they appear. One of them appears over the bed and floats slowly towards me. I wait. The demon hovers right in front of me and nothing else happens. I fear this is a bad choice, but I decide to let it be. I touch the demon's face with my hand. Dream ends.
    13. LD 105 - Clarity

      by , 08-23-2018 at 02:26 PM (Letaali's Dream Journal)
4.8 Yeah I had this a while back.

I was stuck in an apartment with mind controlled people. The source of that was in the fridge, where I found a massive black snake with the ability to control minds. There was also a lady in the fridge. The dream was bizarre and eventually changed into something different. Everything was blurry. I looked at my hand and started to become lucid, but the dream was dark and slipping away.

I find myself in my room, lying in bed. I still remember that I'm dreaming, so I look at my hand. I can't move my body, but somehow managed to see my hand by just willing it to happen. I tell myself that my physical form doesn't have to move out of the bed, I can leave it behind. I roll out of the bed in my ghost form. This makes the dream crystal clear and detailed. I want to go outside and phase through the wall and window with some trouble. I stumble into the grass. It's night and the city I see in front of me is not like waking life at all.

I walk across a parking lot and do some reality checks, because everything feels so real my mind still fights the fact that it's a dream. I plug my nose and breathe through. Then I look at my hand and bend the fingers in the wrong direction. Yep, pretty sure it's a dream.

I remember my goal and shout "Give me the power I desire!". I started thinking if I needed to know what I desire and decided it was flying. With my arms wide and looking at the night sky, I waited to feel something. Nothing felt different, couldn't fly yet. DCs passed by me, looking at me like I was a weirdo. I kept following the road and met some friends who I decided to follow. I looked at the stars again and imagined power flowing to me from all the different worlds. Nothing happened. The night sky was filled with way more stars than you see irl.

I entered a restaurant with my friends and met a big group of friends from school. They were all eating. I tasted some dish with tomatoes and potatoes. Wasn't too bad, but nothing amazing. I kept trying to fly and finally a DC wanted to help. One of my oldest friends, Niko was going to help me. He told me to lie down. I cleared the top of a piano that was in the corner and lied down on it. Niko went out of the restaurant to get something and I started to lose the dream. Couldn't stop it.
    14. Lucid moment and a flooding town

      by , 06-16-2018 at 08:51 PM (Letaali's Dream Journal)
I'm lying on my back on a strange boat that fits one person. I steer by moving my feet; there's no steering wheel or anything like that, the boat just obeys me. I'm in my hometown, on a very familiar and small road. It's raining heavily. The scene is unnatural, apocalyptic even - the entire town is underwater. I see no other soul. It's dark and silent, other than the constant rain making noise.

I steer the boat forward with my feet and mind. On some level I'm aware that I am causing this flood. I start thinking "What should I save? What should I let the flood destroy." and think this is good for the whole world. A fresh start. Pretty dark.

I steer the boat towards an apartment made of glass walls. I go through the glass into the flooded apartment. I see several beautiful women in other rooms of the apartment, silently staring at me. They looked sad. The scene is weird enough for me to finally start questioning my state. I become lucid and try to get up from the boat. I haven't moved my upper body the entire dream and can't do it even lucid. I lose the dream.

I no longer count lucid moments as lucid dreams, so I won't tag this as such.

    15. LD 104 - City in the Sky and a Fight

      by , 01-26-2018 at 01:51 AM (Letaali's Dream Journal)
I'm on a train with my family. We approach a city with massive buildings that pierce through the clouds. We are above the clouds and see the tops of some buildings. The train is on rails that go through these buildings like some sick rollercoaster. I feel the G-forces as the train makes hard turns inside the dark tunnels going through the buildings. I tell my dad "Can't help but think how many little parts of the system could fail and kill us all. This is why I hate cities." He doesn't answer. The hard turns and tunnels continue. I fear death, but another voice in the back of my mind whispers "Thousands of engineers spent countless hours to make everything safe. Trust them." This logical side can't silence my fears.

We arrive at the station, which is on top of a building. We are amazingly high up. The place looks like an airport. My dad has too much to carry, while I have nothing. I take some of his burden to help; I carry his laptop briefcase. We don't follow the path we are supposed to take and the asian staff panics a bit about it.

Out of nowhere, my dad pulls out a silenced pistol, grins and shoots a man. My dad would not do that, is my first thought. My second thought is "Take cover!" since he aims at me next, still grinning. I run behind some metal pillars, like something you would use on a bridge. My dad stands still and shoots at the pillars. I'm confused and afraid.

"No." I tell myself. "This is enough." Lucidity brings some confidence, and I decide to face my father. I come out from my cover and meet my father, who has transformed into a monster like the ones in Gears of War games. He's about twice as big as before. One of his arms is a rocket launcher. He takes aim. I keep walking towards him and hold my hand out block the rocket. "I'm indestructible." I tell the dream, and it is so. The rocket hits me and explodes, but I am truly immortal in my current form. I touch the monster that was my dad and force him to transform back. The being fights my will for a while, but eventually turns back into my dad. He doesn't say anything and looks confused. I hold him and help him off the airport.
