    1. Kevin Spacey Wants the Van

      There was a whole other dream before this one, but I seem to have forgotten it. Maybe I'll remember over the course of today and write it down, too.

      I was in the center of a ground-level vehicle parkade, which had low ceilings and was made almost entirely of gray concrete. The parkade was situated in a vehicle-centric city, because I could hear many cars driving around outside, but the noises were very quiet and hollow-sounding. There were small pot lights in the ceiling, but most of the light came from the sunlight outside, because there was a fair amount of it pouring in from the open sides of the building.

      I was standing right beside a silver Toyota Sienna, or at least it looked like one. It's difficult to tell in a dream unless you're lucid, and I wasn't paying much attention to it from the start. At this point, I knew my mother was outside the parkade, paying for a parking ticket. She had started up the van with her remote vehicle starter, and I was keeping an eye out for it in case someone decided to get inside and steal it. Anyone could just walk into the van and drive away because it was all ready to go. That's when I saw a man walking by me. He was wearing a purple hoodie which looked fairly large for him, and blue jeans.

      He then stopped and turned to me, saying, "hello, what's up?"

      I said, "just waiting for my mother to get back and drive us home."

      "In that case," he said, looking at the van and starting to walk around to the driver's side, "I'll take it home myself." The words carried a hint of aloofness, like he didn't care what happened. But clearly he wanted to steal it.

      I ran around the side of the van and grabbed one of the white drawstrings of his hoodie, the ones that came from inside the hood. I pulled on it, not thinking I could do anything else, and started to yank him away. I saw the other drawstring and grabbed it too; now I was pulling on both of them. I proceeded to yank him away from the van, despite his protests of "hey! What are you doing?" and other, more nonsensical phrases that I can't remember.

      After waking up, I realized the man looked exactly like Kevin Spacey, and he spoke like him too. I also laughed because I realized how stupid I had looked, pulling on the strings of the guy's sweater to get him away from the van.

      Additional note:
      I had a WILD breakthrough last night. I tried my luck at WILDing to see if I could break my dryspell that's lasted for over a year. I listened to white noise this time, a static-like sound, and within about twenty minutes I was extremely relaxed and felt my thoughts going in strange directions, without me voluntarily thinking about anything. It was a strange feeling, but one I remembered from a while ago. I also started to see small dots of white flashing around, which I observed for a mere few seconds. I accidentally forgot to stay calm and woke myself out of it.

    2. Photos on the Computer

      I seem to be more motivated to record my dreams when I'm in school. Holidays and weekends, less so.
      Last night, I dreamed that I was on a balcony, overlooking some sort of Caribbean-style ocean, and the time appeared to be twilight. The ocean water was mint green and blue, getting darker as it radiated out towards the horizon. I knew the balcony was right where the ocean water hit the beach; if I were to look down, I would see the sand.

      There was a square night table, probably only a foot high at most, which was made out of light wood, like oak. It wasn't polished and the edges were still sharp as if it hadn't been sanded down. It was basically slabs of wood that were shaped like a small table, but in my mind (at the time, anyways) it was normal. There was one large drawer in the front of it with a basic round handle, also made of unpolished wood. I pulled it out and saw a closed laptop. It was black with thin, white rubber grips on the sides, and a silver top. There was no logo on top, so I don't know what brand or type of laptop it was.

      I put it on the short table, ignoring the fact that even though the drawer was still way open, I was sitting right in front of the table as if nothing was there. I didn't close the drawer at all, but instead just sat in front of the table and opened the laptop lid. There was no sliding mechanism; I just pulled it open, and immediately it opened to an iPhoto-like program, which definitely had an Apple-like air to it. The background was dark gray, and there was a cover flow sort of picture arrangement. At that moment, my mother had just appeared beside me, so I nudged over and let her look through them.

      She clicked on one photo which enlarged it, and brought the cover flow to the bottom of the screen, making it smaller. It was a picture of her ex-boyfriend.

      "Look!" she said, somewhat excited.

      "Mom," I told her sternly. My mom's ex-boyfriend was an abusive jerk, and I knew this even in the dream.

      She moved onto the next photograph, this time one with the two of them together, making funny faces.

      "Mom! I don't want you looking through these fucking pictures of him on the computer." The word choice sounded very controlling, but it didn't occur to me in the dream that there was anything wrong with it.

      She clicked on another photo, and I didn't get too good of a look at it; I simply looked at her again and pushed her a bit. "Mom! Did you hear what I fucking said? Delete them!"

      That's all I remember.

    3. Fragment - Zzz... I'm Late...

      This was a false awakening. I woke up in my bed, not lifting my head up more than a few inches. It was dark in the bedroom, and I couldn't see anything but the faint outlines of my wooden dresser and night table. There was a slight light bluish wash over the room that came from a small rectangular window above my bed, but this didn't make the location any lighter.

      I looked at my alarm clock, rather groggily. The glowing red numbers read 7:40, which was much later than I normally wake up.

      "Crap... I'm late for school... Why didn't my alarm clock go off...?"

      I just shrugged it off and put my head down into the pillow again, closing my eyes.

      Within moments I woke up for real, and this time the clock read 6:15.

    4. Fragment - Library Book

      Another dream involving a library...
      I was in a small room. This room was part of a library, and had a ceiling of normal height, and dark, ruddy brown walls with white trim. The lighting was dim, as if someone had put a few sheets of tissue paper over the single light bulb dangling from the ceiling. It was also slightly yellowish, which was unusual.

      Against the walls, there were tall shelves of books. These shelves were fairly antique-looking, and were made of reddish brown wood that had been polished. They were scuffed up here and there, but overall they were fairly nice bookshelves that, if they were real, I'd have wanted to take home with me. The books were lined up normally and on a slightly tilt against the inside of the bookshelves; most of them were teen and adolescent novels with thicker spines. I pulled one out, and on the atmospheric cover there was a moon and a black wolf. The wolf was almost cartoony and was looking up at the moon, standing in a flat of grass.

      I opened the book and read some text, which I forget. The text size was normal, probably around 10 or 11 point, while the book itself had around 300 pages.

    5. Dead Orchid

      My reason for the lack of lucids and quality dreams lately is probably exams.

      In this dream, I was in my bedroom. My room is fairly square with beige walls, and located in the lower level of my house. Two adjacent walls each have a small rectangular window, probably only two or three feet across and a foot tall, trimmed with white. On the other wall, there is a closet that has been taken out to create more space in the room. The wall inside is painted a lighter, almost minty green. The lighting in the room is dimmed but not uncomfortably dark.

      I was in the section where the closet was taken out; in the middle up against the wall, there was my dresser. It was polished wood, and had a tryptic-type mirror with three pieces, the middle one being the largest. I looked in the mirror for a brief second and then at the remnants of a flower, sitting on my dresser. In real life, I own my own white and pink orchid, which hasn't been doing too well as of late. In the dream, there was nothing left of it - literally - the stem and pot were nowhere to be found... Except for some darkly colored, pale and crisp petals that were sitting on the dresser. I picked them up and crunched them in my hand; I then picked up a black garbage bag that suddenly appeared beside me and put the petals in. There was nothing in the bag except for the petals.

      The dream ended - my alarm clock woke me up for my Biology exam.

    6. Hoverbiking to McDonalds

      This dream was much longer, but I rated it so low in vividness because I can't remember most of the parts!

      It was night time, and there wasn't much illumination from lights around the neighborhood. I was on the roof of my house. Because it was rather dark, I couldn't discern if the house actually looked like my house in real life, or if the dream had made something up. The roof was made of shingles, but instead of being three-dimensional, the shingles were flat as if they were just drawn on paper. I was crouching down with my elbows on my knees and looking around at the other houses. I looked down at the streets below, and then I looked to the right and saw my yard. It was about ten feet down from the rooftop. I stood up and jumped down from the roof, making no noise as I landed in the tall, overgrown grass. I looked around once more, and saw yellow light coming from a single square window in the wall of my house.

      The yard was empty except for a pile of large, irregularly-shaped rocks in the corner. It was also fenced off by boards of neat, dark wooden fencing that were at least seven feet high. It looked, overall, like a normal backyard. Above the fence, in the distance, I could see the moon, which looked very bright. It was also larger than how the moon looks in real life.

      In front of the fence, there was a metal stool. I walked over to the stool and stood up on it, peering over the fence. Now, beyond the fence, there weren't as many houses or streets as before. There was only one road extending straight towards the horizon, which was lit by a dim white light. A few houses were scattered here and there. I jumped up onto the top of the fence and fell off the other side, landing in a sort of hoverbike. It was flat on top, but underneath, it was very neatly carved out of metal. A small dot of a green light was flashing, sending a laser of light out towards the darkness. I took hold of the two handles and twisted the right one; without making a noise, the bike began to pick up speed.

      No other cars or people appeared as I traveled down the road, but there were telephone poles on the sides every few seconds of travel. Instead of connecting to the one beside it, the wires would connect to the pole across the road. I was traveling at the same height as the high telephone poles, so whenever I'd get within a few seconds of hitting one, my vision would change. I'd now be seeing black, and a flat, white irregular line, like a lightning bolt. I'd have to lower the position of my bike so I wouldn't hit the lightning bolt, because this represented the pole. After all, one knows that if they touch an electrical pole, they'd be electrocuted.

      The first two times this happened, I lowered my bike enough. The third time, though, the lightning bolt lowered along with my bike, so I drove right into it. My vision turned black.

      But, I wasn't "dead". The dream only skipped a bit, and I was now in a city, in a central area where all the fast food restaurants congregate. The roads looked decrepit, but still useable.

      I walked toward a McDonalds, which was clearly open because all the lights were on, and because I could see people eating inside. I can't remember what happened next.

    7. I Need Shorts!

      It was the middle of the day. The sky was cloudless, and there wasn't a sun. I was at an outdoor fair. It was one of those events where there are little tents with people selling pizza and other food, shows, and amusement park rides. The whole area was shaped like a square, and the perimeter was bordered with five foot-high blue plastic tarp material. I hadn't walked around the whole place, but I just knew this because it was part of the dream plot.

      I walked, by myself, into a sort of shopping area. At that moment, I realized I was only wearing a blue tank top and undergarments, and that I had no shorts on. Apparently I really wanted to wear shorts in particular, and not pants, so I said out loud, "I'll go buy some". I rolled my eyes and pulled my shirt down a bit, trying to cover myself up better. No one noticed anyways.

      I walked past some tables, a few of them were covered by those square tents with the long poles. I eventually came across a longer table with a yellow tablecloth. There was a small horizontal shelf made of thick metal wires, and inside there were at least four small black tubs. There wasn't anyone supervising the table, but I didn't pay attention. I looked inside the tubs and found Game Boy Color games; picking up a yellow one, I realized it was a roleplaying game that I really wanted, although I didn't know the name from what occurred in the dream.

      "I'll buy this instead."

      By now, I'd totally forgotten about my clothing problem.

    8. Fragment - Croissant

      I was in my school, walking through the back door with one of my friends. I've described the building a lot in previous dreams, but to make a long description short, it's basically a huge long atrium with light walls, and a glass triangular roof which lets in a lot of sunshine during the day. The floor is eggshell blue tile, and there are some light-colored tan brick pillars. At the back of the school there was a double door with huge glass panels so you could see through it. Once you got inside these, there was a mat and then another set of doors side by side.

      We walked through each of these without pressing a special button - there is security on the campus and you have to push a button for them to open the door for you, but this wasn't the case in the dream.

      As for my friend, she's the kind of goofy person who's always seen with food, whether it be mooched off of someone else or bought herself. I happened to be carrying a monetary bill of some sort, which I felt in my hand but never actually saw. It felt thicker than most bills. She stopped and said, "Puffin, can you get me a croissant?"

      "Sure."

      We started to walk down the atrium, past the classrooms with the closed eggshell blue doors, and then I suddenly had a croissant in my hand, surrounded by a folded napkin. It was a seamless change.

      "Here." I gave it to her.

      She replied, "nah, I already have one." There was nothing in her hand, though, nor anything to suggest she had bought one.

    9. Library Boardroom

      This dream was more vivid this morning when I'd just woken up; now I've forgotten a lot of the content. I probably took too long to type it up, which has happened before...

      I was in a McNally Robinson bookstore. The one at my local mall in real life just closed a few months ago, but in this dream I was in it, as if it were still up and running. The interior had a lot of richly-coloured wooden bookshelves and green banners everywhere. I was in the central area of the bookstore, which had a 360-degree, circular green reception desk with a wooden countertop. Like most of my dreams, the lighting in this building was dimmer than it should have been.

      Lined up against one of the bookshelves near the reception desk, there was a row of black swivel chairs. There were a few men in suits seated in the chairs, but most of them were empty. They looked at me and I asked, "how's the exploitation going?"

      (Wait... What?!)

      "Very well," said another man, not waiting for me to answer. He was in his late fifties or early sixties, with gray hair and black reading glasses, his hands in front of him on the table, cupped together.

      "Have any of you seen my assistant?" was my next question.

      "The guy?"

      "Yeah."

      I can't remember anything else.

    10. Bruce Wayne Likes Prison

      I watched The Dark Knight yesterday.

      In this shorter dream, I'd made a pact with myself to rescue Bruce Wayne from prison. Apparently he was caught by police, or something. I didn't really think about the details in the dream, although I'm sure there was an explanation as to why it happened. I don't recall actually seeing myself go into the prison, but I simply walked down a set of stairs and turned a corner to see a set of five or six stairs leading up to a slight platform. This was in the basement of the prison, I knew. It was well-lit and made mostly of concrete, in pretty good condition, but I could see green fungus or something in a few of the corners. It seemed dank. On the steps, there were a bunch of inmates just sitting there and talking amongst each other, rather quietly and reserved. Two convicts were playing rock-paper-scissors. As a group, they didn't really look that much like criminals because they weren't that grungy or scary-looking. They just looked like bikers.

      Bruce Wayne was sitting among these inmates, against the wall, looking around and only moving a little bit to adjust his position. He was in a basic suit and tie which looked a bit scuffed-up. He obviously looked like Christian Bale. He looked at me and said, "what are you doing here?"

      "To rescue you. Let's go."

      "How did you get in?"

      "The guards are down."

      As I spoke, the convicts looked at me curiously. One narrowed his eyes in suspicion, but none spoke to me directly.

      Bruce said, "I like it here. I'm not going."

      "Fine."

      I started to turn around and leave, and then my alarm woke me up.

    11. The Very Long Dream

      This dream probably spanned twenty minutes, and nothing was fragmented or cut up. More stuff probably happened, but I can't remember the details.

      I was pretty much in the middle of nowhere, on a pretty barren landscape made of rocky terrain. There were a few single-lane asphalt roads going here and there, but no cars. It was clearly daytime, because the sky was light blue and the sun was shining (although it didn't cast a glare or cause me to squint). In the middle of this land, there was a large construction framework for an incomplete building. There were thin sheets of metal between some of the beams to create "walls".

      In horizontal sections of the framework, there were planes of wood drilled into place to act as platforms to walk on. These larger pieces of wood were light in color, but rather thick so they wouldn't snap when someone was to walk on them. The whole structure must have been four or five stories tall, and at least seventy feet high.

      First I was on the top of the structure, sitting with my legs hanging off a steel beam, looking down onto the ground. I had a chocolate coin in my hand that I was multiplying using non-lucid dream control. I'd curl my palm around it, look away into the sky, and then look back at my palm, which I would then uncurl. There were now two coins. I did this a few different times and ended up with five or six. I didn't feel the thickness of the coins in my hand grow each time a new one appeared, which logically should've happened. I looked down at the ground, which was now darker and had a more brownish hue than before, and held my hand out, watching the coins fall as I let them go. They disappeared when they got to the ground, as if the distance between the top of the framework and the earth was more than it should've been, so much that one could no longer see them falling. But I still knew the distance was less than a hundred feet.

      I got up, balancing on the beam without feeling any sort of wobbliness or issues with weight distribution, and kicked off the beam, flying into the air. I only got four or five feet out from the side of the framework, although I used much more force and should have gotten at least twenty feet out. My dreams tend to do that - I exert powerful force on something to push away, but I only get so far away from that thing. I landed within a matter of seconds, not feeling wind or air rushing past me as I fell, and recoiled slightly. Once I recovered and stood fully upright again, I looked around me and saw people walking around. There was now a smooth concrete sidewalk going around the perimeter of the framework, and a rectangular, modern-looking pool just a few feet away from it. There were also big glass windows in between some of the steel beams now. It looked almost like a house, except it didn't really have walls. I saw some people walking around, one holding a huge crab that looked like it was either inflated, or made of rubber. I took a slight interest in this, but ultimately ignored it.

      "Where's the restroom?" I suddenly asked out loud, but not shouting. No particular reason as to why I said that. Someone who was just walking past me said, "to the up", but even though it didn't make any sense, I interpreted it as "to the right". I turned to the left, strangely enough, and saw a metallic door. It was positioned in a large glass window between two vertical beams. I saw a sink and a white cubicle inside (I've rarely seen a normal restroom in my dreams, just public cubicles). I opened the door and walked in; the walls were now solid, made of stony, tan-colored brick. There were no longer glass walls or steel beams, but it looked almost like a gross, decrepit restroom. "Yuck," I exclaimed, looking down at the floor. It was hard, grey carpet that looked pretty gummed-up.

      I turned to the sink, on the left side of the room. It was a basic white sink that came out of the wall, and only had one stainless steel tap instead of two. Without testing it, I knew that it only gave out cold water. "This place sucks!"

      That was when I turned around and opened the door. Outside, I was now in a city. To make things less normal, though, my dream had actually put me on the third or fourth story of a building. I'd just stepped out into a balcony with no railings. I looked down and saw busy streets with multiple lanes and strange, distorted-looking cars that drove in opposite directions in the lanes. The balcony I was on was at least twenty feet long, but only three or four feet wide - barely enough room to be able to walk without feeling like you're going to fall off the edge. I saw my mom walk out the same door, which was now twice as tall as it was before. She was holding a book, Of Mice and Men. The cover, without closer observation, looked like it had a large tree or shrub and a riverbank. I knew it was that novel.

      "I'm hoping you've finished this book!" she told me, a little angry.

      "Duh!" I said, stung.

      "Okay, let me make sure. Finish this quote off for me..."

      And then she read out some random quote, that seemed in the context of the novel. I just can't remember exactly what it was.

      "Are you kidding me?!" I said to her, "I didn't have a lifetime to memorize each quote in the book!"

      "Yes you did," she said.

      "I've had enough of this." I turned around and walked away (heading towards nothing but the end of the balcony), but I heard quick steps behind me, becoming louder and louder. Within an instant, my mom was behind me. She picked me up by the collar of my shirt, throwing me into the traffic. I was no longer on a balcony a few stories higher than the streets, but I was on the ground level. I ended up on the road and saw a big semi coming towards me. I became somewhat lucid just as the dream ended, but I didn't use any powers or anything to stop the massive truck. Instead, I just curled up.

      Then I woke up.

      Despite the ending, I wouldn't count this as a nightmare, because there was no fear, only emotionless thoughts like in a normal dream.

    12. Foam Waterskis

      It was the middle of the day, and I knew it was near summer temperatures outside. I was standing on a boat. It was like one of those toy boats with the single mast (this one was made of thick, rigid iron) right in the middle of the deck, except more realistic and, obviously, larger. There were a few other people on it too, but I can't recall what they looked like. The deck was light wood, and the side of the boat was navy blue with a white stripe going horizontally around the top. I'm not sure how I knew that without actually getting off and looking at the boat, but that sometimes just happens.

      We were out on the water, coming up to a large mountain. On the left and right sides of the boat, a few feet each way, were walls that looked like they were made of light grey tennis court net. We could see through them and I saw that there was a sea going out, ending at the horizon. The sun shone, but there wasn't a glare and I wasn't squinting as I looked right at it.

      The boat came to the edge of the mountain and I walked off; the deck was perfectly level with the mountain, and there was no rails. I simply walked off as if it were another section of the boat. This place on the mountain was a flat part with a pale brown rock-climbing like arc over it, like a cave. It was dark inside, but as I walked further inside, there was light coming down from a huge hole in the rock. It was lit like the inside of a house. The floor was rock and there was a small lagoon inside, connecting with the water outside the "cave".

      The cave was only twenty feet deep or so, the whole thing well-lit. At the back, past where the small lagoon ended, there was a square framework made of white metal pipes. There were three large cube frameworks connected to each other. In each cube, there was a pair of black aerobics steps, and then there was a platform with waterskis. As I looked at this framework, all three pairs of skis were white with long black lightning bolts on them. I went to the one to the far left and walked up, and the skis were now yellow. They were made of what looked like foam as well, now. It was a waterski-shaped piece of yellow foam with two black half-circles near the end, where my feet were supposed to go. How I was supposed to keep my foot on the ski as I was moving was beyond me.

      I got in, and I heard my sister (who suddenly happened to appear in the cube beside me) say, "I don't want footpieces. Can I just use the skis?"

      I guess she didn't want the black parts. Who would be able keep their feet on the ski without them, though? Not like they were much use to begin with, anyways, because there weren't any straps or anything.

      Outside the cave, there was now a beach with a regular floating dock and a boat. This boat wasn't ours, but a new one. It was one of those normal speedboats, which I presumed to be the thing that would be pulling us. But none of the skis were connected to the boat, and how were we supposed to get from standing on the platform to the open water, a good twenty feet out? I looked down and put my feet into the proper position on the skis, and held my hands out, holding an invisible towrope. The skis suddenly accelerated and I tried to keep my balance. This part was very realistic, other than the fact that the skis, right now, were moving on land and there wasn't anything visible pulling them. I got to the water, and noticed that the other two pairs of skis were behind me, underneath two strangers. I skied for a few moments, randomly accelerating then decelerating. Then the dream ended.

    13. Flies in the Bedroom

      In this dream, I was in my bedroom at my father's house. My room is about 15x15 feet with cherry hardwood, beige walls, and dark wooden baseboards and trim. On the wall facing the outside of the house was a larger window with white trim. If you looked outside, you would see the backyard and a man-made lake. The white plastic blinds of the window were shut in the dream, so I couldn't see what was outside, but the room was almost exactly like it was in real life. Except for one thing - it was connected directly to an unknown room by a sliding wooden door.

      This door, at the onset of the dream, was almost fully closed. The room on the other side wasn't emanating any light (unlike my bedroom, which was lit dimly, like in most dreams), so I couldn't see anything past the door. I was a few feet away from the door at first, and then I walked closer, looking into the darkness. Then I heard a strange, high-pitched buzzing noise. A fly buzzed out of the opening and landed on my dresser, the only piece of furniture on that side of the room - it was made of horizontal, black wood, and was slightly longer than the actual thing, which was five feet across. It landed upside-down and didn't move. I walked towards the dresser, saying, "ew", and looked at it. I crouched down to get a better look, and realized that it was dead.

      I stood up and saw two more flies buzzing above my head, with no idea where they came from. But after a few moments, they flew away, into the dark room. The door was more open than it was before, almost halfway.

      This dream didn't have a creepy or disturbing feel to it, despite the content.

      I was in a well-lit restaurant, sitting at a booth. The seats and backings were made of smooth, polished wood, while the booth tables were rectangular like real ones, with picnic-patterned covers on top. I was looking at a menu; it was pale yellow in color, and laminated. The text was pale red, and probably around 17pt, large for a menu.

      There were only a few menu options with no pictures, and then, in even larger text, was an option that said "3 Hot Women", priced at $129.99. No thanks.

    15. Fight Club T-Shirt

      I was in a store that gave off the same vibe as West 49, a sort of sports apparel store or something. I've never been inside it, but I've passed it quite a few times at the mall. The store was medium in size, and had neat shelves of clothing on the sides of the store, and square-shaped tables of shirts in the middle. There were also racks with various shirts placed all over the store. It was pretty much a t-shirt store, with a few hats and other accessories here and there. There was a men's side and a women's side, but it wasn't divided neatly down the middle; some women's shirts were in the mens', and vice-versa. I was looking in the men's t-shirts (located on the left side of the store) and saw a black shirt on one of the top shelves on the wall. I jumped up a bit to get some height, and pulled it down.

      It was a Fight Club t-shirt: solid black, with the slanted pink "Fight Club" text in the middle; behind this were the white silhouettes of the two main characters, similar to the blu-ray disc cover.

      I held it up and looked at it for a few moments, and put it back on another shelf. I went to the other side of the room. On a shelf at eye level, on the women's side, I saw the same shirt, folded up. It was slimmer and would fit me better; I didn't read the size but instead just left the store with it. I looked back once before taking my first step out of the store and said, "oh, I already paid for it."
