Non-Lucid Dreams
So far, there have been 10+ recorded dreams throughout this 14 day trial. So where does the newest one fit in? Let's just go over that real quick. And yes I know this is a little late. Accidentally forgot to turn on "Publish On" when I was working on this post. Day 14: Fell asleep at: 11:00 Woke up at: 6:35 Dream 10: Double Digits, Finally! The dream plays out much akin to a cutscene from Sonic Mania. Sprite-based animation is at the forefront, and animations are smooth and crisp. There's a gardener tending to 5 differently looking flowers, all of them red in color. The gardener is planting the last flower, a star-shaped one called the "Flower of Paranoia". I don't understand why it was given that name, but it did look pretty cool. Anyways, so far there have been: 6 school related dreams 4 home related dreams 4 video game related dreams And 7 abstract locale dreams A lot of these dreams kinda weave together into the same dream, and as such are counted in more than one category. Both my school and my home are prominent locations in my dreams, as well as video games. Now, I don't know how I can identify those more abstract dreams in locations I haven't really been to before, but I can safely say that doing a RC and staying more aware during both school and when playing video games are prime times to have them. I read on Howtolucid.com that, when utterly immersed in a video game or movie, to occasionally pull yourself out of that state of mind and observe your surroundings. Dreams are often quite like watching a movie, and taking this approach helps a ton. This is the link to that specific article I'm talking about:http://howtolucid.com/cinema-techniq...ing-awareness/ So far, there have been no false awakenings, lucid dreams, or sleep paralysis episodes. Kind of disappointing honestly, since I'm about a month overdue for my lucid. Usually I can muster at least once a month, but umm... not this month.
Fell asleep at: 12:00 AM Woke up at: 8:30 AM Dream 08: Hello Mr. Pianta Touring Bianco Village from Super Mario Sunshine. It looks like the place has also gotten its fair share of gangsters, since there's a lot of graffiti plastered on the walls. Funnily enough, like the actual game, this 'graffiti' is largely just arrows, telling the player where to go. I'm monologuing to myself about imagery in regards to poetry. I think about how there are only so many ways to describe the color black, but a million ways to describe color. Pretty thoughtful stuff. Dream 09: Almost Breaking Double Digits I'm at school this time, again, though now I'm outside the band hall and talking to my friends. One of my friends is talking about something I can't quite hear, when they call all of the band students in. I'm guessing we have a performance, and so everyone was going inside to grab their uniforms. Then something screwy happens... As I'm climbing up the stairs, I can feel the steps getting higher and higher. I'm using all of the upper body strength I can muster to get up there, making a complete full of myself since I don't really have any upper body strength. That and my pants were falling down. The people are waiting behind me, as if taking pity or looking at me fail to climb these stairs. Eventually I find my way inside. Inside the band hall, people are grabbing their instruments and putting on their uniforms. One of the band directors is talking to a student about the weird, red, plastic thing she has on a stool. He said it looked like a fruit, but I thought it was... Moving on. Across the hall, two girls and one guy, one of the girls' boyfriends, are playing football. Right outside of the uniform room. The girlfriend licks the football for whatever reason, and throws it back at the guy. Inside the uniform room, there's this big, fancy chair. There's also a TV right in front of it. Me and one of my friends are arguing about who gets to sit in it first. I win, of course, and then the dream ended.

Day 11: Fell asleep at: 11:00 PM Woke up at: 6:35 AM Dream 05: Nothing here. Day 12: Fell asleep at: 12:00 AM Woke up at: 7:30 AM Dream 06: Ugh... Walking the hallways at school. It's midday, and slightly blue tinted light streams into the halls. I'm walking the hallway that goes past the cafeteria and into another set of double doors. On my way over there, I spot three students, one girl and three boys, sitting on benches apart from each other. This is where the "Ugh..." part comes in. I approach one of the guys sitting on the bench, as he reaches for his, uh, babymaker. I smack his shoulder, whispering to him, "Dude. No. What the hell?" The girl sitting on the bench in front of us has a disgusted, concerned look on her face. I begin to blush, my ears heat up, and I get off the bench. Dream 07: Ulysses S. Crybaby Nothing to do with the Ulysses S. Grant of history, by the way. It seems like I'm playing FO4, but for some reason, Ulysses from NV is talking to the player character. I'm exploring a municipal tunnel running underground, there's red and blue pipes everywhere. Pretty typical stuff. There's a new enemy in the caves, a Rad Monkey. Ulysses says, "KILL THE MONKEYYYYYY." In his droning, raspy voice. I find myself inside a tiny little room. And as Ulysses is talking to me, "It's All Over But The Crying" starts playing. It was hilarious in the dream, trust me.
Heh. Puns... Anyways, yesterday was pretty surreal in terms of the 'stuff' that happened. Glad to be back. Day 9: Fell asleep at: 10:30 PM Woke up at: 6:45 AM Nothing here. Day 10: Fell asleep at: 10:30 PM Woke up at: 6:30 AM Oddly enough, even though I slept for, like, 8 hours, I felt oddly refreshed upon waking up. Though I felt like I was in the verge of collapse at Band (Which was only an hour later), so... Yeah. Dream 01: Bar Fight In a rustic, old bar somewhere, I was locked in mortal combat with some black jumpsuit wearing thugs. I don't remember much about that fight, the only notable thing being Torbjorn chasing after a giant alcohol barrel. I'm guessing he worked there or something. Later on, my sister and my brother-in-law pull me and my older sister aside to talk about something. We sit down on a wooden booth. She gives us both a lecture about how this generation is scatterbrained and can't focus on one thing. I mock her, reminding her of the fact that, generally, she was also pretty disorganized. I think I remember saying, "Hay gurlfriend, hay gurl, hay, hay, h a y ~ " to her while she was telling us that. Dream 02: Vick Eventually, I find myself inside the Thinkspace. It's a grayish-blue gradient void that holds nothing inside of it. Except for Vick. Imagine the guy from Hotel Impossible, only swole and wearing a wifebeater shirt. And with a really bad attitude. Look, I don't really believe in ghosts, imaginary friends, tulpas, or whatever the hell you call them, but this guy was most definitely trying to fit himself into the 'dream guide' category. He pulls me aside to give me some tough advice. "Back then you at least had SOME pride, SOME push. Even if it was a DIFFERENT kind of drive, I don't want you to die on the hill you're heading." I don't know why I named him Vick. Maybe he introduced himself as something else but faulty dream memory distorted it into the name Vick. I'll take his advice to heart. Dream 03: The Cow-Pig-Crystal Planet I'm out and about during the night, along with my family. My mom is driving the car as we exit the neighborhood. I think my brother or something tells me something about an exoplanet that could support life. The scene switches to my room. There's a card next to the old Wii I have, which shows a diagram of the planet. On it, it shows a picture of a human, a cow, a pig, and a crystal. The human is crossed out, but all the others have a check mark next to them. So this means that the planet is hospitable for cows, pigs, and gems(?), but not for humans. Of course, I think it's stupid, but I keep the card anyway because it looks nice. Dream 04: Freaky Big-Headed People I think my SubC may have an affinity for creating fictional races. Earlier a woman in a previous dream turned into a white-skinned, red eyed, green haired, and yes, peach-nippled alien creature; which I named the Dreamwalkers. Now there's a race of native people that...Well, you'll see. "This incident was more like a "from me to you" kinda thing. Not exactly real journalism." The dream begins with a stereotypically Boston sounding man (Presumably a journalist) giving his thoughts on the discovery of the exploitation of a native people in the U.S. It also shows a newspaper headline, all in black and white, which indicates that it took place in the 50s. In the modern day, my art teacher (Mr.L) decides to travel south to meet these native people, probably out of empathy. Once he gets there, in his old pale-green truck, he goes to talk to one of the women who interviewed the reporter of days gone by. I (The observer) come to the conclusion that these people age much slower than humans. I also see that these native people look like those heads the Olmecs made. These heads are much bigger and much more artificial looking than our own, much like those heads. They're farming tea leaves, it seems. The girl looks no older than 10 or 11 years old, and is very soft-spoken and polite. She wears a ragged, white dress and a pair of cheap sandles. She is fluent in both English and whatever language those people speak. For some reason, Mr.L and the girl have to stay outside while they wait for some Bighead to finish doing something. A timelapse occurs, and about a day and a half passes as Mr.L gets more and more drowsy and impatient, while the girl looks completely fine. I'm willing to guess these people also don't get tired, which would explain why they would be perfect for exploitation. Hey, I'm not supporting it, hell no, but I can see the 'logic' behind it. The young girl questions why Mr.L is pacing around, and he retorts, "Look, I'm not going to stay up any longer. This is starting to become an annoyance; an iced tea annoyance. Look, don't 'bag me up' or something. Just hurry up so I can get out of here and go to sleep..." I'm guessing he got what he wanted, as he gets in his truck and goes back home.
Sorry for the late upload, the WiFi was cut because my parents didn't pay it in time. Thank goodness it didn't go on longer than it did. Day Seven: Fell asleep at: 11:00 PM Woke up at: 6:40 AM Dream 04: If Marvel Made Overwatch(?) The dream takes place in the first person camera perspective, much like a movie. The subject matter was, of course, Overwatch. I think I was playing a story mode of sorts, with (Oddly enough) live acted cutscenes alongside the more stylized Overwatch gameplay. I remember playing as Soldier: 76, shooting a big ol' Roadhog as we both try to get to a closed room. It then switched to a cutscene where 76 says he will "Open the gates to the outside world, and there's no coming back", conversing to (Of freaking course) Teddy Cruise as two guys try holding him back. Teddy is struggling to get out of their control, but the gates open anyway, and a bright light floods the room. It then switched to an interview segment with Teddy Cruise remarking about how the light was so bright, he might actually be partially blind in his right eye. Guess the directors at Blizzard or something must've really hated him. Day Eight: Nap Fell asleep at: 4:30 PM Woke up at: 9:30 PM Dream 05: Tension Brewing Talk about day residue. Yesterday, my English class was talking about the 16th Street Baptist Church Bombing, going over an article and a poem about the event. It got real heated, real quick, and I think it's safe to say all of that transferred over to this dream. I'm in a classroom, just doing my work, then I come to realize the teacher is literally not without a racist bone in his body. The kids aren't making things any better, as they too just reciprocate everything he says, jokingly or otherwise. It's just a hostile environment overall. Dream 06: Pointers from the Subconscious I dreamt I was designing one of my characters, a time travelling 80s video game protagonist stereotype named John Jones. In the dream, he's wearing an umpire's outfit, complete with a baseball base as a shield and a baseball bat as a sword expy. Dream 07: Perspective I'm at school, again, but this time I'm walking inside the hallways. On my way to the 'I Wing', one of my old friends, D, walks up to me and says hi. We exchange words, catch up with each other for a bit, and go our separate ways. We never really talked that much in the waking world, so I wondered why she was one of my designated 'dream friends' for this one. Hmm... But there's no time to ponder that fact, as I am now inside my World History teacher's body, personality, everything. In the hallways, I'm trying to calm down two 6ft tall students from beating each other up or something. It was so weird having someone else's thought patterns in mine, but probably something I want to put a pin on later. Day Eight: Night Fell asleep at: 11:00 PM Woke up at: 6:40 AM Dream 08: Alpuppies Back at my house, I exit out of my Mom's room to find that my dogs are fully grown...And fully terrifying. My two puppies (Nemo and Kleo) now resemble llamas than, y'know, dogs. I take them to go pee outside, where they poop, pee, and spit all over the place. The dream ends soon after.

Day Five: Fell Asleep At: 1:15 AM Woke Up At: 9:00 AM Dream 02: Images Same as last night, except I remember even less of this one. Maybe tomorrow will get better. Day Six: Fell Asleep At: 1:20 AM Woke Up At: 10:20 AM Dream 03: Fragments I remember playing CTF in Overwatch. The map in question was Ilios an I was playing my main, Lucio, scoring free hits on people by blasting them off the stage. There was also another dream, but that ended up being swamped by this one. I have really got to start going to bed earlier. Maybe that's what keeps messing up my recall.
Fell asleep at: 10:30 Woke up at: 7:20 Dream 01: More Flashing Images Nothing particularly interesting happened last night. I went to bed really mentally exhausted, mostly because of all the homework I had to do, and just plopped myself into my bed. I think I remember being in a sterile, white lab with maybe one or two doctors, but that's really stretching it. All I can remember is the color white. Also, from now on I am going to be numbering my dreams. Even if they're fragments or flashing images, they will still count towards the dream total.

Fell asleep at: 10:30 Woke up at: 7:10 Missing: 75℅ Of Humanity The dream starts with me touring an apartment complex in some big city. A movie theater is directly in front of the apartments, and I'm reminded of a city in Mexico (Those on the border to be more exact). I look down into the city, and realize NOBODY is around. NOBODY. Not even a few civilians walking around, nope, nothing. Naturally, I freak out. I try to look up information on my phone, which makes reference to some biblical catastrophe which would wipe out 75% of the population. But, I didn't process all of that information, and thought it was zombies that did it. Yes. So, when my family came over, I proceeded to barricade the doors when it came time to sleep. I wake up in the early hours of the morning when a group of teen survivors (Two boys and one girl) come walking up the stairs and into the hallway. The lights are off, and all three of them are carrying candles, presumably because their phones died. I let them pass, and went back to bed. Me and my family had spent a couple of days surviving in those apartments, when my mom decided it was time to get out of there because of the cramped living situation. We gathered up our food supply, loaded all of our stuff into the trunk, and just before we left... Survivors. They weren't hostile or anything, but there were very few of them to speak of. Maybe 4 or 5 people were out in the open. My mom beckons me back into the car, and we went off to Tennessee.
Fell asleep at: 10:30 PM Woke up at: 6:30 AM Dream 01: A New Member in the Family I'm wandering around my house when I spot a pug-like dog on top of some towels. I go and tell my mom about it, asking if I could keep him (Or her). She said yes, but that she won't be responsible for what Dad does. She also said to call her when I'm in Mr. F's class. He didn't like it when I brought those two stray puppies into the house, and we already have one other dog, so I kind of dreaded what would happen if Dad found out. I put the puppy on the floor to to lay with the other pups. My puppies are quite the wily bunch however, so I pick the pug back up. Dream 02: Gray Concrete I find myself in, of course, a gray, concrete building. A couple of the unreputable students from my school are there. I go to a cafeteria where there's a soda fountain on top of the counter. It's at this point I start thinking about light-speed travel and transport myself to the "Thinkspace". Because that's just the kind of think I think about when I'm bored. Maybe I watch too much Vsauce... The Thinkspace is a thing I made up. It's basically what happens when the dream version of me starts imagining things in his mind, separating him from the dream for a little bit. Bizarrely enough, it isn't a Vsauce video that plays in the Thinkspace, but an Oxhorn video. He talks about light-speed travel and shows a visual of a woman sleeping in a raft with her lower body being a castle wall. She may not be a "brick house", but she certainly is a castle wall. Dream 03: Raider Troubles Now I'm traversing a Raider infested parking garage with my sister, K. I manage to trick the Raiders into a linear platforming course (Think Donkey Kong Country) on the grounds of: "They're not platformer characters, K. They won't make it past the first jump and certainly not the first run jump. Nobody holds onto the run button..." And I take my leave. I go through a set of double doors and find myself in a school courtyard. I am by my lonesome, following a couple when I split up with them to join up with my friend, J2, a percussionist, who is sitting on a really tall chair. I awkwardly say to him, "J2, let me...ascend..." As I shuffle my way up that stupidly tall chair. Dream 04: Oh Shit, I-- I'm now in my history teacher's class, Mr. F. I remember that Mom told me to call her a bit too late, as class just ended and I'm too scared to pick up the phone. A day later (In the dream, not real life) passes and I wake up on the couch. It must've been a Saturday, since I had no school. My brother (J) tells me to get ready, since my mom wants to go take us surfing. Now, I am neither good at nor interested in surfing, so I groan to the top of my lungs to get the message across. I tell my mom I feel sick and can't go surfing, and she gets noticably angry. She's in the restroom, by the way. With the door closed. And as soon as I reach out to grab my phone, she tells me to go to bed. Then she snaps. In a distorted, banshee-like voice, she tells me, "Why didn't you text me when you were in Mr. F's class yesterday, huh?!" This woke me up. No joke, I woke up with an enveloping sense of both dread and shock because of this.
Fell asleep at: 12:00 A.M. Woke up at: 9:00 A.M. Nightmare: I'm in my parents' car when I start picking at the inside of my mouth. There's something...stuck up there. So, logically of course, I pick at it with a freaking pair of scissors. I finally get that thing out (That think being a piece of my tooth); Then my gums start to bleed. I stuff my mouth inside a towel and wait for it to pass. My mouth feels numb just thinking about it...
Fell asleep at: 5:00 AM Woke up at: 1:00 PM Dream: I think I'm in a warped, dreamlike version of my school, fused with one of the houses from the colonias near my town. It's all the usual dream stuff, just me walking around, minding my own business... When the DC of my dead cousin shows up. And I am speechless. Now, I'm not gonna sugarcoat things. Even though this was an experience personal to me, I felt like it was worthy enough to be talked about. It's nothing too graphic or too sad, so stick with me. He's wearing a greasy looking pinstriped suit, a faded black with light gray lines. He looks unkempt, as was his style I guess. He was always the "cool" one, and often put his appearance first before anything (The man owned a leather jacket for Pete's sake). Immediately I start choking up. He's on the other side of a chainlink fence but manages to jump over it because he could. I think he was talking about something, but I was too preoccupied dealing with my own anxieties. "This is the one person I hate so much...How could he do this to us? Why does he still look so cool? How is this possible? The one person I try so hard not to emulate shows up in my dream, without MY permission? Typical. But...there are so many questions..." He walks around for a bit; around a twisting, almost rotten tree, and peers into a window. Excited children flood the window, and he smiles back. I get even more temperamental. He parkours his way up a wall, onto the roof, totally in line with his character. I think to myself: "What do I talk to him about? How different are we? Why the hell did you do that to us? Will I ever see you again? Can you get the heck away from me?" My fist clenches trying to hold it in, and I choke up once more, on the verge of tears. But I don't have any time to think. The children whom he had met burst out through the door, and he jumps back down to meet them. I trail them all back inside through a red door to my right. They're all laughing, having a good time, but I demanded an answer from him (Well, not really but you get the point) and still he had nothing left to say. The children have also done some excellent drawings and sketches on notebook paper, and I admire just how detailed it looks. But I clearly have had enough. I stormed out of the room and went to contemplate this situation elsewhere. I wind up in a big city. A parade seems to be going on in town as kids throw humongously large rubber dodgeballs at each other, cars pour in from every corner, and confetti rains down from above. I don't take part in the festivities, I'm too shaken to even think. In the real world, that would've been the death of me. I walk callously across each gathering of students and even snake my way through busy traffic. I come across a chainlink fence and think I should climb it, but thoughts of my deceased cousin crossed my mind, and I move onto something else. And that's when the dream ended.

Fell asleep at: 2:00 AM Woke up at: 12:00 PM Dream: It seems to me I am in the desert, almost keeling over due to the lack of food in my system. The "narrator" of the dream (Who sounds a lot like Oxhorn who, in short, sounds like Tom Hanks) says I am on a quest to find a "warm animal". Apparently the temperature is so hot that animals in the desert literally cook from the inside out. I come across a dead goat, or some other creature like that, and pick apart nicely sliced pieces of meat from its body. It tastes savory, but also something that could be served at a barbecue due to its peppery sort of taste. It's also kind of spicy, and the meat itself was reddish orange with black spots, implying it was cooked recently. It was, as expected, pretty warm for being recently cut meat from a goat's body. I snuck along a bag full of the stuff along with me. I come across another traveller, but from this point on I don't really remember much. He talks to me about where he can find this meat, and I told him that those goats are all over the desert, not wanting to give up my share. And the rest is all fuzzy images from that point on. Notes 1. First time I ever engaged in taste in a dream, though non lucid. Sadly, I don't think goat meat counts as junk food so no TOTM for me. 2. Now I suddenly don't feel hungry for some reason.
Fell asleep at: 2:00 AM Woke up at: 10:00 AM Dream 01: I remember being in a white and sterile environment, much like an empty doctor's office or some high-tech research facility. I think in the dream I was fighting some monster, a theme that hadn't been present since I was, well, 12 years old. I seemed to have god powers in the dream as well, and the fight is heavily one-sided. I feel a sense of deep empowerment and relief as I slice up the enemy Kingdom Hearts II style, and finishing it off by slicing it with light powers. And that is the end of it. Dream 02: I'm in high school again as I spot my old friend, Ace. It's an awkward introduction at first, since I kind of, let's say, burned a few bridges with her that I'm not proud of. A wave of embarrassment runs down my face, stress sweat, blushing, heating up, you get the idea. In the dream she has completely black hair for some reason, and she is wearing a faded dark-grey jacket. She always seems to dye her hair (Even when I knew her way back when) so I didn't really catch on and do a reality check. Anyway, I start talking to her. She's still her usual chipper and weird self, and she kind of doesn't really care that I had burned bridges with her. Though her proportions have changed (AKA her butt was bigger for some reason). I begin to wonder "Why am I still so worked up about it after all these years?" but brush that aside to continue having a conversation with her. We were at the cafeteria, but for some odd reason the lunch ladies and food aren't there. They always seemed to have a habit of setting up after the students got there anyhow. NOTES: 1. The whole theme of fighting god monsters and reuniting with old friends is quite weird all things considered. These are all things that have never happened to me in recent years, due in part to me having wanted to forget about them. Maybe my subconsciousness is trying to tell me something here. 2. This is the 5th dream in a row where I was in some kind of foreign or fantastical environment. Being in my room used to be one of my biggest reality checks and now I'm barely even inside my house in dreams anymore. Perhaps I'm getting slightly more detached from reality? Could be.
Fell asleep at: 11:00 PM Woke up at: 6:00 AM Fell back asleep at: 6:00 AM Woke up,again, at: 7:00 AM Nightmare: I'm in my room, reading notes on this particular bug that, if ingested, could cause a slow and painful death. The scientists shown on the paper are Albert Einstein and Michio Kako for some reason, though both aren't exactly biologists. They both have opposing viewpoints: With Einstein's being grim and Kako's being optimistic. I'm drinking out of a cup of water and there I eat it. I accidentally swallowed the nightmarish bug, causing my body to slowly go limp. I inch out of my bedroom and make my way over to the restroom. I can barely stand on my own two feet, and slowly approaching death's bed. I look in the mirror, a foggy one. The whole room was humid. Someone probably took a shower before me. Anyway, I wipe off the fog from the mirror and see myself, barely keeping my head up above the sink, with droopy eyelids that show the tissue behind them. Then I wake up. NOTES: 1. A very vivid dream. I remember waking up with a sense of dread today and it took a few hours for it to wear off.
Fell asleep at: 1:00 AM Woke up at: 5:00 AM Dream: I'm in my Chemistry class. My teacher is sitting at his computer, you'll find out what that entails in a second. My old friend-turned-acquaintance JJ is sitting to my right, incessantly complaining about....something. He's alsonot doing the assignment at hand, instead making one of those paper fortune-telling things. He directs his ire over to the teacher and doesn't. Shut. UP. I HAVE to tell him something. I tell him something along the lines of "Dude, shut the hell up. That's the FIFTH fucking time you said that. Be quiet, show some respect, and do your freaking work." Oddly enough, the class doesn't respond, but he sure does. He says something like, "How can I respect a teacher that can't freaking teach? Playin' games n' shit, damn..." See, in real life, my Chemistry teacher is, well, kind of a shy, bumbling newbie. During the course of his time at the school, everybody's been giving him crap. This carried over quite spectacularly into the dream. Anyway, this sent me over the edge, but I know better than to act on emotion or instinct. I tell him, "It doesn't matter. He's the teacher, you're the student, so let him teach." And just after I say that, my brother walks inside the classroom and hands me some car keys. I don't know exactly why he did this, and the dream ended shortly after that, but that wasn't what was important. NOTES: 1. The same thing happened today during class. My classmates were actively taunting the teacher, one of them got especially unreasonable, and I told her off. No, I didn't cuss to such an extent as here. God, they're annoying.... Er, sorry, rant mode. 2. I think this is one of the few times I ever completely acted like myself in the dream. To be honest, this dream was kind of therapeutic. I don't even know if I was lucid or not, it was that accurate.
