    1. Day 34: Cheese Gods and Betrayals

by , 03-20-2018 at 11:14 PM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      Day 34:

      Fell asleep at: 7:00 PM/ 11:30 PM/ 3:30 PM

      Woke up at: 10:00 PM/3:20 AM/6:30 AM

      Dream 38: Butter-y Cheese Sandwich

I'm at a party with a bunch of other people from my school. I make my way towards an exceptionally odd room; A stone hall with what looks to be a sky blue haze surrounding it. There are a bunch of other people lying on the floor, waiting around for someone to arrive. I too decide to lay on the floor until this somebody walks in.

My friend (I can't remember which one exactly) comes through the same door I went through. He brought a couple big bags of MacDonald's and handed everybody their food. He tosses a grilled cheese my way, and since I never turn down a good meal, I eat it then and there.

The sandwich was... annoying to deal with. For some reason, the cheese felt more than content to just slip and slide all over the place. A couple globs even fell to the floor as I tried to eat it.

      Dream 38 & 1/2: Cheese God

I'm touring some Mexican city when I come across a large statue in the image of a pudgy, jolly man. For some reason, my mind automatically associates him with cheese, and I dub him the Mexican God of Cheese. Yep.

This fragment could be part of something else entirely, but since it still has something to do with cheese, I decided to group it up with Dream 38.

      Dream 39: Tough Cookie

Again, a third person narration dream. I'm looking at this undercover agent who's looking to capture and arrest a certain infamous drug lord. The drug lord in question is a blonde, tired eyed, and deceptively two-faced individual.

She never reveals her name, and takes the agent on a tour through the city. Once she has him in an unknown location, she reveals her true colors and traps the guy in the sewers, as she waits for hunger and fatigue to wipe him out.

Her 'right-hand woman', a pudgy blonde woman with a hearty demeanor, talks her into leaving town. Given their interactions, I'm willing to guess that the two have some sort of romantic interest in each other, which would be cute if it weren't for the fact that they basically left someone for dead...

But in any case, the two speed off towards the horizon in a motorcycle and the two get away Scot free.

The perspective then switches to me, myself, walking with my family over to the car. I'm talking to my dad about something I can't quite remember. Something about art.

It did feel like I was IN the dream this time, so progress is definitely being made.

    2. Day 32 --> Day 33: ...

by , 03-20-2018 at 05:13 AM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      Day 32:

      Fell asleep at: 1:00 AM

      Woke up at: 9:00 AM

      Dream 36: Blank

No luck. Despite my involvement in the Spring comp., I came out of this with little to no recollection of my dreams. Maybe I'll get it next time.

      Day 33:

      Fell asleep at: 11:30 PM

      Woke up at: 6:30 AM

      Dream 37: No Luck.

Nothing. I was so pumped up for an LD last night, but I came out with nothing to show for it. Not a single dreamlet, fragment, or full-on dream. It'd be kinda hard to say I'm not disappointed with myself for that.

I'm planning on fixing this by being more observant of my surroundings. Not necessarily ADA, but something close. I find it easier to have an LD when it feels like I'm really 'IN' the dream itself, as if my regular thought patterns are implanted in non LDs. I once got to a point where my dreams were too good to write out in their entirety, so this'll be a cinch.

I really need to get on the ball soon. Can't procrastinate with something like this.

    3. Day 26 --> Day 31: One Heck of a Backlog

by , 03-17-2018 at 11:45 PM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
Nine whole months since I joined this forum and I'm still a terrible procrastinator. Now you see why my User Title is the "Master Procrastinator?" So, to all future dream journal bingers out there, PLEASE don't miss more than three days of consecutive dream journalling. It really does do a number on your recall and motivation in general.

      Day 26:

      Fell asleep at: 2:30 AM

      Woke up at: 9:15 AM

      Dream 26: Pizza House Party

Going over to the counter (Which has been removed in real life but not in the dream), I pick up four slices of pizza. They have a store-bought cardboard tray, but the pizza itself is restaurant-tier. I go back to the couch along with my dad, and it seems like the couches and coffee table are arranged correctly. I didn't make the connection between the two (The counter being in the wrong place but the furniture in the correct order), which no doubt would've made a solid LD.

I'm not quite satisfied yet. I decide to go get some of the last pizza before everybody else does. Now there's even more pizza on the counter. Everybody else goes to get some more pizza, and I end up only getting about two slices. I think to myself, "Well, I already ate four slices, so..." and just accept it.

I briefly chow down on my second helping. I go over to throw my plate away when I bump into a little white machine with a GPS monitor on it, which is situated in front of my mom's room. My dad tells me to be careful. Guy's got foot problems, and I figured whatever it was, he didn't want me touching. I walk away from it so that I wouldn't be held responsible for it.

      Day 27:

      Fell asleep at: 1:00 AM

      Woke up at: 8:00 AM

Dream 27: Jostled by the Mob

Exiting out of the hallways, I make my way into a little outdoor area within my school. An influx of students exit from all sides, all 600+ of them. All of us are headed straight for the staircase outside of the band hall.

Once we get there, I begin to get jostled by a whole bunch of M's friends. I even see the girl who looks an awful lot like my friend's sister, who's the only face I can remember. We all sit down on the stairs that somehow stretch all the way across the building. Some guy is singing an overly emotional song about...something I can't quite remember.

He starts picking out people from the audience to sing along, meanwhile I bust out a calculator that can somehow run GBA-era Pokemon games. Nice. The guy next to me sees what I'm doing, and motions the singer to point at me. He then stares at me playing Pokemon on my calculator and stares at it instead. He then pulls out a calculator and I begin to tink he wants to know how I got it done. Jokes on him, I ain't telling.

      Day 28:

      Fell asleep at: 4:00 AM

      Woke up at: 11:00 AM

      Dream 28: Uh...Pups?

A short one. I dreamt that Nemo and Cleo took the forms of two overly large bugs, both yellow in color. I still tried to put them in their cage though.

      Dream 29: HANDS OFF, MAN.

I'm in an unknown house. My brother is lying on the floor, minding his own business. The both of us are talking about joining a club or something when he does the unthinkable. The guy gets up, walks over to me, and crushes my babymaker something fierce. You can tell how much I wanted to kill my DC brother after that...

      Dream 30: AGAIN?!

I was on the couch, just barely waking up from a dream. My dad and my brother are pacing around the couch, wondering who's gonna take out the pups. My dad elects my brother, who then elects me. I have this stupid half-smiling, half asleep look on my face, trying to convince them that I'm still asleep. I pull out my phone, confident that they'd be none of the wiser. Then my brother kicks me hard, again, in the one bone that matters. You can tell how much I REALLY wanted to kill him after that... Thankfully it was just a dream, so no harm done.

      Day 29 & 30:

      Fell asleep at: 1:00 AM

      Woke up at: 9:00 AM

      Dreams 31 & 32: Nothing

      Fragments again.

      Day 31:

      Fell asleep at: 4:00 AM

      Woke up at: 1:00 AM

Dream 33: The Rich Get Asylum

Another narration dream, this time starring the voice of DiGi Valentine. In a corrupt, poverty-stricken city, the ones raking in the dome are the owners of an insane asylum. Extortion, money laundering, and exploitation are their main methods of making money.

      Dream 34: T'was A Mirage

I look at the TV, astounded by the fact. My 5-6 year old copy of Super Mario Galaxy 2, scratched to hell and back, is finally functional! Everything is just how I remember it. I grab the controller, but I don't like how loud it is. I lower the volume on my TV using the buttons installed on the TV itself, and then immediately, the game crashes. And then I crash, emotionally. I hate this.

      Dream 35: Shirtless and Witless

I start off in a computer lab, the room darkened accompanied with the busying sound of keyboards clacking. The dismissal bell signals the end of the school day. I get up and go through the hallway to the school parking lot. But then I realize something, both my pants and my shirt are missing, leaving me with semi-translucent red underwear.

It was bitterly cold, and I rushed back to class, using my backpack to cover up my half-naked self. Unfortunately for me, the teacher was still in the class. I went to my desk and grabbed my shirt and pants and put them on before she noticed. I waved a polite goodbye and left in relief.
    4. Day 20: 20/20

by , 03-06-2018 at 04:47 AM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      Fell asleep at: 11:30 PM

      Woke up at: 6:30 AM

      Dream 20: Damn QTE's...

Laying on my bed during the daytime, early morning I'd guess. I'm playing a sort of Heavy Rain styled game on my 3DS with a zombie apocalypse setting. My character is limping away from a horde of zombies as both of his legs are broken. The button prompts are faded and move around on screen, obscuring my vision as I try to determine what button it wants me to press.

For some reason, I had a really terrible time trying to get past the QTEs. I distinctly remember my character getting chomped on by zombies two times because of failed/missed button prompts. I got real pissed off and just turned the game off afterwards.

This is one dream I really wish I had gotten lucid in, honestly. The morning sky, vivid imagery, and near life-like setting would have been an amazing world to play around in. It could have very easily turned into a level four lucid dream if I tried.
    5. Day 19: The Empire Strikes Back

by , 03-03-2018 at 11:19 PM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      Oh lord...

      Day 19:

      Fell asleep at: 10:30 AM

      Woke up at: 3:30 PM

      Pre-Dream:

Before falling asleep proper, I tried my hand at a nap-induced WILD. I ended up getting too anxious and couldn't do the WILD proper, mostly because the prospect of an LD was too exciting for me to handle. My heartbeat was the fastest it had ever beat in its life.

I did manage to get my legs and arms numb, and I did manage to hear one or two auditory hallucinations, but I finally stopped when my brother got at the pups.

Dream 18: Nice Guys Don't Play These Games

Me and a cousin of mine are scampering through this dark, ginormous house. It's nighttime, of course, and we quickly make our way into the building.

My cousin hops towards a bunk bed in one of the bedrooms and makes himself at home. He tells me to block/barricade the door before the 'others' get here.

Being the upstanding, dedicated nice guy that I am, I ask him why we're doing this to begin with, and refuse to lock the door. This could be someone's property, and I don't feel like pissing off an entire family and getting charged for it.

I should have spoke a lot sooner, though, as a terrifying presence forces both of us to run away again. We make our way through the backyard...Then the dream ended.

      Dream 19: Reference Sheet

I'm looking over a character reference sheet for some video game, either Fallout or Overwatch. The character in question is an old, African American detective with a patched trenchcoat, gray hair, and a cigar in his mouth.

He has the same tired eyes that characters like Brock and Majin Buu have, as well. There's also a diagram that has a picture of his younger self, complete with black, greasy hair, and his old self.

    6. Day 18 and 19: Vivid Burst

by , 03-03-2018 at 04:55 PM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      Day 18:

      Fell asleep at: 10:30 PM

      Woke up at: 6:40 AM

      Dream 14: For Dear Life

I remember exiting out of my grandma's neighborhood during the dead of night. My brother and brother-in-law and I are sitting in the backseat of an oversized truck, which my sister is driving.

None of us are wearing our seatbelts, nor did I find any around. I'm clinging onto my seat as my sister swerves around town. The seat is straight metal, so even trying to maintain a grip is impossible. We stopped by a water fountain as a red light mercifully saved me from falling off the car.

      Dream 15: Expected Laziness

I'm in an unidentifiable interior setting. It resembles a library, combined with some sort of coffee shop. It seems some people from school are preparing for a race.

All of them are getting into position, and I manage to sneak my way past them and into another room. Two people I know are there, N.Rio and Mike. Both of them are sitting on a black couch in front of a window. Looking out the window, there was another white cuboidal building off in the distance.

N.Rio and Mike are both on their phones. And since mine was (And still is) broken, I just stared at what they were watching. I remember coming across as awkward and nosy, but beyond that there wasn't much else.

Dream 16: Rolling Chairs are Awesome

Now it's lunchtime. Talking to some DCs, I bring up the undeniable fact that rolling chairs are the best thing one could ask for. To demonstrate my point, I tell them I can get from place to place without even getting out of my chair. My destination? The other side of the cafeteria.

Rolling around at the speed of sound, I race my way past the cluttered cafeteria and to a table where the lunch ladies are sitting, across from where I was at. I hand them my chair, pretending that there's something wrong with it, and I ask them if I can go to the restroom. I guess I thought it was weird that I'd show up there for no reason and head back, so I improvised a reason for doing so when I got there.

      Day 19:

      Fell asleep at: 4:00 AM

      Woke up at: 7:30 AM

      Dream 17: Dang it...

I remember having a really vivid dream today, but my two puppies woke me up so I forgot all about it. They bark when they're hungry, thirsty, angry, happy, jealous, or when they feel anything at all.
    7. Day 15, 16, 17: Slow Nights

by , 03-01-2018 at 03:26 PM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      Day 15 and 16:

      Fell asleep at: 11:00 PM

      Woke up at: 6:45 AM

      Dream 11 and 12:

Both of them were a no dream phenomenon. I literally can't remember anything that happened during those nights.

      Day 17:

      Fell asleep at: 12:30 AM

      Woke up at: 8:00 AM

Dream 13: I ain't leaving without my food...

It's a cozy Saturday night at my grandma's house. Unfortunately, my entire Video Game Design class is there. I know it's some sort of meeting, but I'm not quite sure.

They're looking to get some food from this box. I don't now of it was donuts, but they got all of it before I did. I'm bummed, of course, but I let one of the girls get the donut anyway, since she also hadn't eaten in a while.

I go over to the fridge (Which is in the complete opposite direction than real life) to get a snack. I managed to swipe a tiny little cereal box from the pink tray. Sadly, there's no milk to go along with it. I found a spoon, but no milk.
    8. Fourteen Days: A Tally Through Time

by , 02-27-2018 at 05:07 AM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
So far, there have been 10+ recorded dreams throughout this 14 day trial. So where does the newest one fit in? Let's just go over that real quick.

And yes I know this is a little late. Accidentally forgot to turn on "Publish On" when I was working on this post.

      Day 14:

      Fell asleep at: 11:00

      Woke up at: 6:35

      Dream 10: Double Digits, Finally!

The dream plays out much akin to a cutscene from Sonic Mania. Sprite-based animation is at the forefront, and animations are smooth and crisp. There's a gardener tending to 5 differently looking flowers, all of them red in color. The gardener is planting the last flower, a star-shaped one called the "Flower of Paranoia". I don't understand why it was given that name, but it did look pretty cool.

Anyways, so far there have been:

      6 school related dreams

      4 home related dreams

      4 video game related dreams

      And 7 abstract locale dreams

A lot of these dreams kinda weave together into the same dream, and as such are counted in more than one category.

Both my school and my home are prominent locations in my dreams, as well as video games. Now, I don't know how I can identify those more abstract dreams in locations I haven't really been to before, but I can safely say that doing a RC and staying more aware during both school and when playing video games are prime times to have them.

I read on Howtolucid.com that, when utterly immersed in a video game or movie, to occasionally pull yourself out of that state of mind and observe your surroundings. Dreams are often quite like watching a movie, and taking this approach helps a ton. This is the link to that specific article I'm talking about:http://howtolucid.com/cinema-techniq...ing-awareness/

So far, there have been no false awakenings, lucid dreams, or sleep paralysis episodes. Kind of disappointing honestly, since I'm about a month overdue for my lucid. Usually I can muster at least once a month, but umm... not this month.

    9. Day 11 and 12: Oh Boy

by , 02-24-2018 at 03:04 PM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      Day 11:

      Fell asleep at: 11:00 PM

      Woke up at: 6:35 AM

      Dream 05:

      Nothing here.

      Day 12:

      Fell asleep at: 12:00 AM

      Woke up at: 7:30 AM

      Dream 06: Ugh...

Walking the hallways at school. It's midday, and slightly blue tinted light streams into the halls. I'm walking the hallway that goes past the cafeteria and into another set of double doors.

On my way over there, I spot three students, one girl and three boys, sitting on benches apart from each other.

This is where the "Ugh..." part comes in.

I approach one of the guys sitting on the bench, as he reaches for his, uh, babymaker. I smack his shoulder, whispering to him, "Dude. No. What the hell?"

The girl sitting on the bench in front of us has a disgusted, concerned look on her face. I begin to blush, my ears heat up, and I get off the bench.

      Dream 07: Ulysses S. Crybaby

Nothing to do with the Ulysses S. Grant of history, by the way.

It seems like I'm playing FO4, but for some reason, Ulysses from NV is talking to the player character. I'm exploring a municipal tunnel running underground, there's red and blue pipes everywhere. Pretty typical stuff. There's a new enemy in the caves, a Rad Monkey.

Ulysses says, "KILL THE MONKEYYYYYY." In his droning, raspy voice. I find myself inside a tiny little room. And as Ulysses is talking to me, "It's All Over But The Crying" starts playing. It was hilarious in the dream, trust me.
    10. Day 9 and 10: Night and Day

by , 02-23-2018 at 04:36 AM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      Heh. Puns...

Anyways, yesterday was pretty surreal in terms of the 'stuff' that happened. Glad to be back.

      Day 9:

      Fell asleep at: 10:30 PM

      Woke up at: 6:45 AM

      Nothing here.

      Day 10:

      Fell asleep at: 10:30 PM

      Woke up at: 6:30 AM

Oddly enough, even though I slept for, like, 8 hours, I felt oddly refreshed upon waking up. Though I felt like I was in the verge of collapse at Band (Which was only an hour later), so... Yeah.

      Dream 01: Bar Fight

In a rustic, old bar somewhere, I was locked in mortal combat with some black jumpsuit wearing thugs. I don't remember much about that fight, the only notable thing being Torbjorn chasing after a giant alcohol barrel. I'm guessing he worked there or something.

Later on, my sister and my brother-in-law pull me and my older sister aside to talk about something. We sit down on a wooden booth. She gives us both a lecture about how this generation is scatterbrained and can't focus on one thing.

I mock her, reminding her of the fact that, generally, she was also pretty disorganized. I think I remember saying, "Hay gurlfriend, hay gurl, hay, hay, h a y ~ " to her while she was telling us that.

      Dream 02: Vick

Eventually, I find myself inside the Thinkspace. It's a grayish-blue gradient void that holds nothing inside of it.

      Except for Vick.

Imagine the guy from Hotel Impossible, only swole and wearing a wifebeater shirt. And with a really bad attitude.

Look, I don't really believe in ghosts, imaginary friends, tulpas, or whatever the hell you call them, but this guy was most definitely trying to fit himself into the 'dream guide' category.

He pulls me aside to give me some tough advice. "Back then you at least had SOME pride, SOME push. Even if it was a DIFFERENT kind of drive, I don't want you to die on the hill you're heading."

I don't know why I named him Vick. Maybe he introduced himself as something else but faulty dream memory distorted it into the name Vick. I'll take his advice to heart.

      Dream 03: The Cow-Pig-Crystal Planet

I'm out and about during the night, along with my family. My mom is driving the car as we exit the neighborhood.

I think my brother or something tells me something about an exoplanet that could support life.

The scene switches to my room. There's a card next to the old Wii I have, which shows a diagram of the planet. On it, it shows a picture of a human, a cow, a pig, and a crystal. The human is crossed out, but all the others have a check mark next to them.

So this means that the planet is hospitable for cows, pigs, and gems(?), but not for humans. Of course, I think it's stupid, but I keep the card anyway because it looks nice.

      Dream 04: Freaky Big-Headed People

I think my SubC may have an affinity for creating fictional races. Earlier a woman in a previous dream turned into a white-skinned, red eyed, green haired, and yes, peach-nippled alien creature; which I named the Dreamwalkers. Now there's a race of native people that...Well, you'll see.

"This incident was more like a "from me to you" kinda thing. Not exactly real journalism."

The dream begins with a stereotypically Boston sounding man (Presumably a journalist) giving his thoughts on the discovery of the exploitation of a native people in the U.S. It also shows a newspaper headline, all in black and white, which indicates that it took place in the 50s.

In the modern day, my art teacher (Mr.L) decides to travel south to meet these native people, probably out of empathy.

Once he gets there, in his old pale-green truck, he goes to talk to one of the women who interviewed the reporter of days gone by. I (The observer) come to the conclusion that these people age much slower than humans. I also see that these native people look like those heads the Olmecs made. These heads are much bigger and much more artificial looking than our own, much like those heads. They're farming tea leaves, it seems.

The girl looks no older than 10 or 11 years old, and is very soft-spoken and polite. She wears a ragged, white dress and a pair of cheap sandles. She is fluent in both English and whatever language those people speak.

For some reason, Mr.L and the girl have to stay outside while they wait for some Bighead to finish doing something. A timelapse occurs, and about a day and a half passes as Mr.L gets more and more drowsy and impatient, while the girl looks completely fine.

I'm willing to guess these people also don't get tired, which would explain why they would be perfect for exploitation. Hey, I'm not supporting it, hell no, but I can see the 'logic' behind it.

The young girl questions why Mr.L is pacing around, and he retorts, "Look, I'm not going to stay up any longer. This is starting to become an annoyance; an iced tea annoyance. Look, don't 'bag me up' or something. Just hurry up so I can get out of here and go to sleep..."

I'm guessing he got what he wanted, as he gets in his truck and goes back home.
    11. Day Seven and Eight: Ready for a Comeback

by , 02-21-2018 at 01:45 AM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
Sorry for the late upload, the WiFi was cut because my parents didn't pay it in time. Thank goodness it didn't go on longer than it did.

      Day Seven:

      Fell asleep at: 11:00 PM

      Woke up at: 6:40 AM

Dream 04: If Marvel Made Overwatch(?)

The dream takes place in the first person camera perspective, much like a movie. The subject matter was, of course, Overwatch.

I think I was playing a story mode of sorts, with (Oddly enough) live acted cutscenes alongside the more stylized Overwatch gameplay. I remember playing as Soldier: 76, shooting a big ol' Roadhog as we both try to get to a closed room.

It then switched to a cutscene where 76 says he will "Open the gates to the outside world, and there's no coming back", conversing to (Of freaking course) Teddy Cruise as two guys try holding him back.

Teddy is struggling to get out of their control, but the gates open anyway, and a bright light floods the room.

It then switched to an interview segment with Teddy Cruise remarking about how the light was so bright, he might actually be partially blind in his right eye. Guess the directors at Blizzard or something must've really hated him.

      Day Eight: Nap

      Fell asleep at: 4:30 PM

      Woke up at: 9:30 PM

      Dream 05: Tension Brewing

Talk about day residue. Yesterday, my English class was talking about the 16th Street Baptist Church Bombing, going over an article and a poem about the event. It got real heated, real quick, and I think it's safe to say all of that transferred over to this dream.

I'm in a classroom, just doing my work, then I come to realize the teacher is literally not without a racist bone in his body. The kids aren't making things any better, as they too just reciprocate everything he says, jokingly or otherwise. It's just a hostile environment overall.

Dream 06: Pointers from the Subconscious

I dreamt I was designing one of my characters, a time travelling 80s video game protagonist stereotype named John Jones. In the dream, he's wearing an umpire's outfit, complete with a baseball base as a shield and a baseball bat as a sword expy.

      Dream 07: Perspective

I'm at school, again, but this time I'm walking inside the hallways. On my way to the 'I Wing', one of my old friends, D, walks up to me and says hi. We exchange words, catch up with each other for a bit, and go our separate ways. We never really talked that much in the waking world, so I wondered why she was one of my designated 'dream friends' for this one. Hmm...

But there's no time to ponder that fact, as I am now inside my World History teacher's body, personality, everything. In the hallways, I'm trying to calm down two 6ft tall students from beating each other up or something. It was so weird having someone else's thought patterns in mine, but probably something I want to put a pin on later.

      Day Eight: Night

      Fell asleep at: 11:00 PM

      Woke up at: 6:40 AM

      Dream 08: Alpuppies

Back at my house, I exit out of my Mom's room to find that my dogs are fully grown...And fully terrifying. My two puppies (Nemo and Kleo) now resemble llamas than, y'know, dogs.

I take them to go pee outside, where they poop, pee, and spit all over the place. The dream ends soon after.

      Day Five:

      Fell Asleep At: 1:15 AM

      Woke Up At: 9:00 AM

      Dream 02: Images

Same as last night, except I remember even less of this one. Maybe tomorrow will get better.

      Day Six:

      Fell Asleep At: 1:20 AM

      Woke Up At: 10:20 AM

      Dream 03: Fragments

I remember playing CTF in Overwatch. The map in question was Ilios an I was playing my main, Lucio, scoring free hits on people by blasting them off the stage.

There was also another dream, but that ended up being swamped by this one.

I have really got to start going to bed earlier. Maybe that's what keeps messing up my recall.

I think the dreams I had last night were about as vivid as Day One, but I'm pretty sure I forgot about them as soon as I woke up. All I remember are bright white flashes.

Dream 01: A New Member in the Family

I'm wandering around my house when I spot a pug-like dog on top of some towels. I go and tell my mom about it, asking if I could keep him (Or her). She said yes, but that she won't be responsible for what Dad does. She also said to call her when I'm in Mr. F's class.

He didn't like it when I brought those two stray puppies into the house, and we already have one other dog, so I kind of dreaded what would happen if Dad found out.

I put the puppy on the floor to to lay with the other pups. My puppies are quite the wily bunch however, so I pick the pug back up.

      Dream 02: Gray Concrete

I find myself in, of course, a gray, concrete building. A couple of the unreputable students from my school are there. I go to a cafeteria where there's a soda fountain on top of the counter. It's at this point I start thinking about light-speed travel and transport myself to the "Thinkspace".

Because that's just the kind of think I think about when I'm bored. Maybe I watch too much Vsauce...

The Thinkspace is a thing I made up. It's basically what happens when the dream version of me starts imagining things in his mind, separating him from the dream for a little bit.

Bizarrely enough, it isn't a Vsauce video that plays in the Thinkspace, but an Oxhorn video. He talks about light-speed travel and shows a visual of a woman sleeping in a raft with her lower body being a castle wall. She may not be a "brick house", but she certainly is a castle wall.

      Dream 03: Raider Troubles

Now I'm traversing a Raider infested parking garage with my sister, K. I manage to trick the Raiders into a linear platforming course (Think Donkey Kong Country) on the grounds of:

"They're not platformer characters, K. They won't make it past the first jump and certainly not the first run jump. Nobody holds onto the run button..." And I take my leave.

I go through a set of double doors and find myself in a school courtyard. I am by my lonesome, following a couple when I split up with them to join up with my friend, J2, a percussionist, who is sitting on a really tall chair.

I awkwardly say to him, "J2, let me...ascend..." As I shuffle my way up that stupidly tall chair.

      Dream 04: Oh Shit, I--

I'm now in my history teacher's class, Mr. F. I remember that Mom told me to call her a bit too late, as class just ended and I'm too scared to pick up the phone.

A day later (In the dream, not real life) passes and I wake up on the couch. It must've been a Saturday, since I had no school.

My brother (J) tells me to get ready, since my mom wants to go take us surfing. Now, I am neither good at nor interested in surfing, so I groan to the top of my lungs to get the message across.

I tell my mom I feel sick and can't go surfing, and she gets noticably angry. She's in the restroom, by the way. With the door closed. And as soon as I reach out to grab my phone, she tells me to go to bed.

      Then she snaps.

In a distorted, banshee-like voice, she tells me, "Why didn't you text me when you were in Mr. F's class yesterday, huh?!"

This woke me up. No joke, I woke up with an enveloping sense of both dread and shock because of this.
    15. Probably Not What Goat Meat Tastes Like But Whatever

by , 12-28-2017 at 07:50 PM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      Fell asleep at: 2:00 AM

      Woke up at: 12:00 PM

      Dream:

It seems to me I am in the desert, almost keeling over due to the lack of food in my system. The "narrator" of the dream (Who sounds a lot like Oxhorn who, in short, sounds like Tom Hanks) says I am on a quest to find a "warm animal".

Apparently the temperature is so hot that animals in the desert literally cook from the inside out. I come across a dead goat, or some other creature like that, and pick apart nicely sliced pieces of meat from its body.

It tastes savory, but also something that could be served at a barbecue due to its peppery sort of taste. It's also kind of spicy, and the meat itself was reddish orange with black spots, implying it was cooked recently. It was, as expected, pretty warm for being recently cut meat from a goat's body. I snuck along a bag full of the stuff along with me.

I come across another traveller, but from this point on I don't really remember much. He talks to me about where he can find this meat, and I told him that those goats are all over the desert, not wanting to give up my share.

And the rest is all fuzzy images from that point on.

      Notes

      1. First time I ever engaged in taste in a dream, though non lucid. Sadly, I don't think goat meat counts as junk food so no TOTM for me.

      2. Now I suddenly don't feel hungry for some reason.
