Cities in the Astral

10/06/14 I woke up in the hotel this morning to my alarm and decided to try the TOTM about open a pumpkin. Like always I decided to add my own twists. I had decided that I would go to a cool field and grow a large pumpkin plant from seed and then open the pumpkin with a bolt of lightning from the sky.

I closed my eyes and thought "grow a pumpkin and look inside" about 10 times. It hit and I was in a dream. It was almost like an FA in that I was in my hotel room bed in the dream, and I was not 100% sure it was a dream yet. I look over and another bed is in the room. Oddly enough my mother is in the other bed and looking at a cat that is on the floor. Pretty sure this is a dream, but still a hint of haze. She asks what I think these cats are doing in the room. Now there are three cats in the room and one is biting another of them.
I tell her that I am pretty sure they are not real as none of this makes sense. I point out that if cats lived in this room it would smell bad and that i was just going to observe for a second. Some one walks by. That does it! "Yep, see, it is clearly a dream, our hotel room is now also a hallway with people in it. I would stay and chat but I have to go grow a pumpkin."
She stands up and looks excited, "Oh cool, can I help?"
"Sorry mom, but this is just a dream and you are not real. I have a 9 minute snooze set and need to hurry, bye!" I decide that I need to be in a place where finding pumpkin seeds will be quick, but this now looks like an airport. I start to run across the floor knowing they must have a salad bar at one of the restaurants. There it is. A salad bar appears in my path. I reach into the first bowl of topping knowing it will be pumpkin seeds.

Pumpkin seeds on a salad bar? "of course! shut up and look in your hand." Still running.

i see smallish seeds. "they look more like squash seeds, and wont they be roasted if they are on a salad bar?" Suppress that thought. Of course they are uncooked pumpkin seeds. I believe myself and keep running.

I reach an exit and start flying. "The airport is a long way from a field, should we teleport?"

No need, abridge the scenery, see there by the hill side. A hill side appears and I jet over towards it. Everything is very vivid now. A road is between me and the hill and large cranes are moving down the road. Ignore that. I get stuck up against a crane and fumble with getting around it. I get to the hill side and it does not look like a spooky autumn meadow. geese, picky aren't we for having a 9 minute window to work with.
You can do it, don't half ass it. OK, fine, there is a nice meadow around the corner. I go around the corner and am in front of the Capitol building. It is basically a nice meadow, but people are there and it is hardly spooky. You know what? close enough, plant the damn seeds.

I should just cast them out on the ground and make them sprout as they fall. No, don't cheat, plant one seed.

I bend down and grab a stick and poke a hole in the ground. A random Dc says "het you are digging in dog poop!"

Yes, it now looks like that may be true, but I alter the image, "I am digging next to it to help this seed grow."

I stick a pumpkin seed in the hole and the alarm goes off. I tell myself that I can ignore it and keep dreaming, but it soon forces me awake. well not a bad start for my first night trying.
