Control without lucidity

Had this one sometime last week. Wasn't exactly lucid, but I sure controlled the dream like I was.
Dude where's my carI'm questioning how I got to my hometown and conclude I must have drove here, gotten drunk and forgotten where I put my car. I spend quite a lot of time searching for it since I'm really fixated on having lost my car.
Recall: 8/10
Sleep: Unknown
Sleep Position: Unknown
I eventually encounter some guy who invites my to go smoke a joint. I pull out my own baggie and say he can try some of mine too. We're inspecting each other's weed when a cop shows up. I tell my new friend to simply ignore the officer and he won't be able to bother us. I turn my back on the cop, but also lose the other guy in the blind spot I've created behind me. They're gone now, and I need to find my car.
I figure I'll be able to spot it better from the air, so I start to fly down the street. But I get too high and too fast to be able to see the cars below, so I slow down. Soon after I spot my car in the middle of someone's front lawn. Looks like a drunk just crashed it there. I land and walk to my car, but by the time I get there it's no longer my vehicle.
I don't know if control without lucidity is a blessing or a curse. Probably just an obsession.
The control turn when the cop showed up stems from the time I totally used a Jedi Mind trick on a cop. He was a bike cop, in the middle of the road checking for seat belts. I didn't have mine on and got stuck at the red light right where he was. He was approaching down the line of cars, looking for seat belts, so I just looked straight ahead. He walked right by me without seeing I didn't have a seat belt on. I looked back in the mirror, and saw him do a double take when he finally noticed me.
I always wondered how I did that, but I realize now that I used the same kind of blind spot to make that cop not see my seat belt as I do to banish things in my dreams. By staring straight ahead intently, I was somehow able to push the cops attention forward and away from me, thus creating an attention blind spot. He could still see I wasn't wearing my belt, he just couldn't focus his attention on it. Unfortunately it stopped working once he got behind me.
